Soriyu is the friendship between Sora and Riyu from the Ninjago fandom.

Sora and Riyu both debuted and met in "The Merge", the two-part series premiere of Ninjago: Dragons Rising. Riyu, having been abducted by the Claws of Imperium, managed to escape his captors and make his way into the Crossroads. Sora was in the midst of competing in the Mech Master 5000 race with her friend Arin, and the pair spotted Riyu fleeing the Dragon Hunters. The two attempted to aid Riyu, during which Riyu gave Sora a boost of energy that allowed her to use her Elemental Power of Technology for the first time. Despite this, the trio were ultimately overpowered and defeated when Lord Ras arrived to assist their foes.
Sora was soon taken into captivity alongside Riyu and Arin, but the trio then received assistance in the form of Green Ninja Lloyd Garamdon. Thanks to Lloyd and Sora's newly discovered powers, again activated by Riyu, the four were able to get away from the Imperium forces. Sora and her friends would accompany Lloyd back to the Monastery of Spinjitzu, where Arin eagerly asked to be taken on as Lloyd's student. The group would later set out to return Riyu to his dragon tribe, but after another clash with the Claws of Imperium Riyu elected to remain with his new friends. Riyu went along with Sora's suggestion that they and Arin attend the titular event in "The Crossroads Carnival."
In "Beyond Madness", Sora attempted to use her powers without getting a boost from Riyu first, but she became frustrated with her lack of success. She started to believe that her powers actually came from Riyu, rather than him assisting her in using what was rightfully hers. Riyu would later boost Sora's powers in a battle with a pair of Earth Dragons, but she lost control of them during the confrontation. As seen in "Writers of Destiny", this served to reinforce her belief that Riyu was the true source of her powers. She would briefly refuse his assistance afterwards, but she later relented in order to join the other Ninja in battle against monstrous creatures attacking the Cloud Kingdom.
Riyu would later accompany Sora on the titular journey in "Return to Imperium", and he created a distraction so she and their other friends could escape capture. After Riyu himself was captured, Sora would set out to rescue him in "I Would Be the Danger", both out of friendship and the need for his help in executing a plan. She and Arin would be caught while attempting to free Riyu in "The Calm Inside." In "The Battle of the Second Monastery", the villainous Dr. LaRow accused Sora of using Riyu for his power just like Imperium did to other dragons, but Sora argued that Riyu shared his power with her willingly. She would then trick Lord Ras into breaking down the cage holding Riyu, who returned the favor by giving her the power needed to subdue the villain.
Afterwards, Sora became determined to master her Elemental Tech Powers, though she remained unsure whether she or Riyu was their true source.

Sora and Riyu have a fairly significant relationship as two of several main characters added to the cast of Ninjago in the Dragons Rising animated series and associated sets. The two enjoy a strong bond of comradery, with Riyu being the catalyst for Sora discovering her role as the Elemental Master of Technology. It is a particularly impressive accomplishment given that Riyu doesn't speak in a manner that allows Sora to understand him, forcing the young dragon to find alternative means of expressing himself to his friend. Riyu, for his part, seems to fully understand Sora's speech and is always willing to lend his human friend an ear.
