SoulBasket is the het ship between Bassie and Soulvester from the Dandy's World fandom.
Canon[]
Bassie and Soulvester are limited-time event toons: Bassie is from Easter whereas Soulvester is from Halloween. Both can be adquired through its respective Event shops (Bassie and Gourdy's respectively), and while Soulvester is considered an uncommon toon, Bassie is a main toon. They share no canon interactions.
They're shown to be helpful and protective towards others but stubbornly reject assistance themselves, driven by personal codes, like Bassie's independence fear and Soulvester's knightly heroism. However, their personalities are quite opposite: while Bassie shows a shy, timid, and insecure personality, Soulvester embodies a chivalric, heroic knight persona, willing to protect other toons and also he tends to shrug off doubts about his knighthood. They also share negative interactions with certain toons: while Soulvester has a tense sibling rivalry with his twin Connie (and is also pestered by Gigi), Bassie harbors a deep resentment, envy, and bitterness towards Cocoa, viewing her as the "fan favorite", poised to replace her (fueled by Delilah's note calling Bassie too dependent).
Their playability stats are opposite too: Soulvester is one of the best extractors in the game (but also one of the slowest toons as in movement speed); and Bassie has one of the best speed stats (5 stars of movement speed) but is one of the toons in general with the lowest extraction speed. In terms of team runs, one player may assist Soulvester as Bassie with any kind of speed items and also lure the twisteds away in case he's on chase (although this requires that Soulvester loses the twisteds due to his lower stealth compared to Bassie's). One of their mastery quests require both to do over 100 machines, though Bassie needs to complete 110. They have an special ability: while Bassie's grants her an extra inventory slot (maxing it to 4), Soulvester has 4 hearts.
Both have a skin that matches the other's palette color: while Bassie's "Belle Basket" emulates Soulvester's basic skin with a mix between white, light blue and green colors, the latter's "Haunted Flame" is a pink version of Soulvester which color resembles Bassie's bell-shaped skirt and flowers'.
Fanon[]
SoulBasket grew on popularity during the Halloween event as many people began noticing potential interactions between Bassie and Soulvester, mostly due to their remarkable opposite personalities, which also led fans to headcanon the two as "Princess" and "Knight" respectively. Due to Bassie's shyness and Soulvester's mighty-knight persona, shippers portrayed both into a Royalty setting in which Bassie is the princess that Soulvester must protect. This trope is also shared with another Soulvester ship: Monarch's Knight (Soulvester x Flyte), which shares a similar trope but instead of the princess, Flyte is Soulvester's prince. However, this latter ship is considered mostly a rarepair and hadn't grown appeal as much as SoulBasket did, so SoulBasket easily overshadows it, although there are cases were the three are involved into a polyship.
As of now, it's the most written ship for Soulvester, having 14 works created on AO3. There's plenty content available on Twitter, which is mostly found by its ship name and/or hashtag. There's also some users that are dedicated into working on more fan arts for the ship, such as @musshuwoo, who's also part of the reasons the ship's popularity fueled as of their ship content between Soulvester and Bassie. In another part of the community, many like to point out that Bassie's twisted counterpart is taller than Soulvester's, leading to fan arts that depict the two twisteds with Bassie towering over the knight like a giantess or in some other scenarios where she playfully looms above her "short king" partner, often emphasizing size difference tropes for dramatic or romantic effect.
Also, similarly to Monarch's Knight, the ship had been compared to another ship from Cookie Run Kingdom: SilentLily, due to its many similarities. For instance, the two ships thrive on the tension between a reserved, duty-driven character (Silent Salt/Soulvester) and a more expressive or hopeful counterpart (White Lily/Bassie), creating a narrative of balance and emotional depth, while on terms of background both ships feature a character with a sacrificial or guardian role (Silent Salt/Soulvester) paired with someone who might inspire or sustain them (White Lily/Bassie), blending themes of duty and emotional support (also another trope for fan arts).
In some fan fictions, Soulvester vows to protect Bassie from any adversity no matter what, and especially considering that Bassie's worst fear is that Delilah replaces her with someone else, the knight is willing to safeguard her role as the Easter Main Character, standing guard at her side during events, intercepting any "replacement candidates" (like Cocoa) with chivalric declarations, and even challenging Delilah's notes in different fanfics where he duels fate itself to prove Bassie's irreplaceable worth. And just like a knight and royal's dynamic, a common interaction between the two is Soulvester kissing Bassie's hand as a proof of unconditional loyalty (and love) while kneeling down.
