Spabby is the het ship between Spike and Gabby from the My Little Pony fandom.

Canon

Their first and main appearance together is in the episode Dragon Dropped. The episode starts with Spike being too preoccupied with writing a letter to who's later revealed to be Gabby, and then too focused on sending the letter out in time, to pay any mind to Rarity, who he's been established as having a crush on in the past, let alone accept her invitation to a gem cave. Later on, when Rarity attempts to apologize to Spike due to believing she did something wrong, he reveals that his rejection was because he had already made plans with Gabby, who he became pen pals with after the previous time she visited Ponyville, and is currently spending a lot more time in Ponyville due to Grandpa Gruff demanding regular updates about how Gallus is doing at the School of Friendship. They explain that they've found a lot of commonalities between each other, particularly in their similar cultures and occupations. He then rejects another invitation to hang out with Rarity so he can spend more time with Gabby.

When Rarity tries one more time, he again rejects her due to planning to meet Gabby for her mail delivery rounds in the morning, only changing his mind when he sees Rarity's disappointment. When the two come back the next day, they run into Gabby, who's excited to hear from Spike again, and he quickly goes back to hanging out with her. However, Rarity comes back again the next day to invite him to a convention, and despite Gabby's disappointment, she encourages Spike to go, since she can tell he's interested. Afterwards, Spike sends her a note telling her he'll be too tired to hang out the next day, only for her to find him hanging out with Rarity when she visits him to give him some soup. Spike only decided to spend his day of rest with Rarity last minute, but Gabby interprets this as him not wanting to hang out with her anymore, causing her to storm off.

Spike is so sad about losing Gabby's friendship that he spends the entirety of the next day depressed, at one moment longingly staring out the window at Gabby. She's seen taking a selfie, mimicking when she got a photo with Spike earlier, and then tosses the photo out and slumps away, showing she's just as depressed about the situation. Later, however, Spike runs into Rarity explaining the situation to Gabby and apologizing for taking up Spike's time, and the three make amends, with Gabby saying she sympathizes with Rarity wanting to spend a lot of time with Spike due to her taking a liking to him as well.

Fanon

Spabby isn't as popular as other ships with Spike, likely due to their chemistry being established late in the show's run and in only one episode, making it a rare pair in comparison. Those who do ship the two often do so due to them having several parallels, such as both being younger siblings (in a sense) and being outcasts from their respective tribes, as well as being in about the same assumed age range, which isn't common in other ships with Spike.

There's very little fanfiction involving the ship, but quite a bit of fanart, in which they're often depicted as adults with fan-made children. Other fanart references the scenes where they pose for a photo together and where they drink milkshakes together.
