Blind Man's Bluff[]

After Matt wins the tournament, he goes to the roof of the hotel to meet Peter, who says it took him long enough to meet him. Matt thanks him for coming, since he's about to make the job a whole lot simpler. Peter asks what the plan is Stan, and Matt says his names not Stan. Peter points out that it's not Daredevil either and asks for his real name, but Matt's not telling him. Peter asks if he'll tell him the plan anyways, and Matt says that they're going to pull a casino heist. Peter says he loved that movie and Matt says he never saw it.

Matt tells him the plan and Peter thinks it sounds pretty easy. Matt points out all the security and Peter says that he could have mentioned a possible gunfight with the triads when he called. Matt asks if he would have shown up if he did and Peter says that for one of his oldest friends...he would have at least considered it. Matt gives a sarcastic "uh-huh" and tells him to go. He takes him to his hotel room, and Peter points out that he said that the higher floors were for High Rollers. Matt says that he did, and Peter finds a check for 10 million. He asks if the name on it is Matt and Matt says it's not. Peter feels like there's something Matt's not telling him, and Matt says that there is. Peter says it's a good thing he's one of his oldest friends and Matt says it sure is as they kick down the door to their target's room.

They make their way through but their target gets through a safe door. Matt asks where Peter was and Peter points out that he was stopping the goons from shooting Matt in the back. His Spidey-Strength should be able to pull off the door though and Matt start to apologize before realizing that the panic room is actually an elevator. They head to the window and Matt says that they have to go up. Needing to get to the roof before the target's helicopter takes off. Matt gets to the roof, before Peter, and tackles him to the side when he senses the number of goons. Peter says that if wanted a hug he should have just asked and Matt says that if they lifted their heads above the edge snipers would have taken them out. Peter thanks him, since he should have known it was something like that and Matt says it's no problem. He says they need to find a way up before the helicopter leaves, just as it flies over their heads.

Matt can't believe he's back at square one, and needed the briefcase the target had. Peter points out that he's probably headed to Hong Kong and Matt points out that it's one of the most populated places on the planet. The target can just vanish. Peter says he'll worry about that when they get there. They get on a hydrofoil, with Peter using his web to practically fly on the back. Matt asks if Peter is worried people will see him, and Peter says they can look. After all, he's amazing, which causes Matt to smirk. He then joins him, and Peter says that he told him it felt great. Matt thinks to himself that it really is.

Peter asks if it was hard for Matt to let go, and Matt says that it was just a little out of character. Peter says he wouldn't want Matt to go off brand, especially with the black costume (he's been there). Peter says that Matt needs to let go every one in awhile, otherwise it's a road to ending up like the Punisher. They continue on their mission, swinging through Hong Kong. Matt asks if Peter knows where they're good and Peter tells him he snuck a tracker onto the briefcase. He leads them right to it, and Matt says that Peter really is amazing as they break in and fight some more goons.

Peter gets the case and asks if Matt needs a hand taking out the rest. Matt says he's got it and to get the case out of there. Peter does so, and they meet on the roof. Matt thanks him, and Peter says he'll do it anytime. Matt tells him to toss him the case, but Peter says no. He asks Matt what's inside, but Matt just tries to take it from him. Matt chases Peter through the city as Peter monologues about all his memories of Matt feel incomplete, and that he used to trust him, but he's not sure he does anymore. He holds the briefcase about to drop it, and Matt finally gives in. Matt tells him that everyone used to know he is, but he found a way to change it, which is why Peter's memories of him are incomplete. But he needed to do it to take out a lot of criminals, and what's in that case will help with that. Peter says that fascinating and throws the briefcase to Matt. He tells him to watch out for those black costume phases, as they can do a number on a guy. He then swings off, leaving Matt behind.

SpideyDevil is rather well liked by comic fans. And even older Spider-Man fans as Matt did occasionally appear in some Spider-Man cartoons. SpideyDevil fans tend to be disappointed with the MCU. Due to them sticking Peter back in High School while in the comics he and Matt are closer in age. On AO3, the ship currently has over 500 works.
