Season 1[]
STRANGE NEW WORLDS
Spock is being intimate with T'Pring when he suddenly gets a video call. He answers it from Pike. Pike asks if he's naked, but Spock assures him that he isn't. He asks if everything's all right, and Pike tells him that Una's gone missing. They're going after her. Spock says that he'll meet him onboard and they end their call.
Pike beams aboard Enterprise and asks how Spock is. Spock gives a report on the ship, but Pike reminds him that he asked how Spock was. Spock says that he's well, but he still feels the loss of Michael. Pike apologizes and says that he misses her as well. He goes over the roster when he sees that Spock won't be serving as his second. Spock says command needs him as chief science officer, which Pike understands. He just didn't think about having a new number one.
Later, Spock goes to see Pike in his room. Spock doesn't wish to overstep, but Pike allows it, and asks if he's feeling himself. Pike says that he is, and that's the problem. Spock could tell that when Pike returned from the Klingon monastery he was changed, and figured out that he saw the future. Pike didn't just see it, but felt how he would basically die. Spock asks if it's soon, and Pike says that it's not. But only Spock would ask that question. Pike admits that he can't stop seeing it, and Spock suggests that the knowledge of death is useful for effective leadership. Pike says there's a difference between knowing and experiencing it, questioning how this will effect him. Spock suggests transforming that suffering into insight, and use that knowledge to be the man that he is. Pike asks who that is, and Spock says "The Captain".
As Spock, Pike and La'an break into a nuclear facility to try and find the other officers, Spocks ears start to reform to their natural shape. Someone on an elevator notices, and Pike quickly grabs Spock and leads him out of there. Once out, Pike points out Spock's ears, which Spock is aware of. Though things have stabilized for now.
Pike realizes that they've influenced the direction of the planet, and feels and immense amount of guilt. He tells the rest of the part to beam up, but Spock stays with him. They do so, and Spock asks if this is wise. He's clearly alien, but Pike is counting on that. The elevator doors then open to guards who aim their weapons at the two of them.
GHOST OF ILLYRIA
Pike and Una decide that it's time to end the mission, and Pike calls Spock to come back. There's too much interference though and decides to go and find him on his own. Pike finds Spock who tells him that he found a cache of journals who may be relevant, and is looking forward to reading them. Pike says that they should get to the rendezvous before the Ion storm arrives to that he can and leads him away. An attempt at Transport is made, but the storm is too much and the two are forced to stay planet side till it stops. Pike asks for suggestions as it rolls in and Spock says to run.
As Spock is trying to open the journals, Pike continually paces. Spock says that there is no point and Pike snaps a little. Spock says that Pike is just indulging his anxiety, but Pike just doesn't like feeling helpless, especially in the current circumstances. Spock is able to get into the journals and tells Pike that the group of Illyrians wanted to join the federation, and were attempting to reverse their DNA modifications. Pike asks if it offers any suggestion of what happened to the colony, but Spock is only halfway through the records. Pike suggests skipping to the end before the storm tears the building apart, when some glowing energy being appear in the storm. Pike asks if Spock saw that, and Spock did, but isn't sure what he did see.
Pike notes that they're gone when one of them appears at the door. The two rush to keep it back and are able to close the door, but Spock gets hit. Pike looks it over and notes that if it were a little closer it would have hit his carotid artery, but Spock says that's only true if he were a human. He says that there were rumors that creatures were living in the storms and Pike takes this as confirmation. Banging rings from the door and Pike asks what the chances are of the door holding. Spock suggests stacking the odds in their favor and they start grabbing furniture.
After creating a barricade, Pike gets out his phaser and looks to Spock who is still looking through the journals. Pike asks if it has a setting for stun and Spock responds that he's arming them with knowledge. He asks if they Illyrians possibly new how to stop the creatures and Spock says that if they didn't they can at least learn from their failure. He eventually finds that the creatures never caused harm to the Illyrians, when the storm begins to surge over them. The creatures then break in as the storm breaks the windows. Spock and Pike hit the ground, holding each other close as the energy creatures surround them. The storm then starts to clear and the creatures then leave. Spock comes to the conclusion that they had some effect on the storm.
As Spock and Pike get ready to leave, Pike asks why the creatures saved the two of them but not the colonists. Spock see's two answers, that the colonists had hurt the creatures before, or that the creatures are the colonists. A data tube then randomly pops out of the wall and Spock grabs it. It reads of the Illyrians recounting their change and getting rid of the genetic changes. Spock says that if they hadn't tried to reverse it, they might not have died. Pike agrees with that assessment.
MEMENTO MORI
Spock tells Pike that he's been monitoring the activity of a brown dwarf and Pike asks if that's what's been jamming the colony's signal. Spock finds that's not the case and the colony isn't responding because their communications satellite has been destroyed. Pike asks if it's an accident, but Spock is unsure. Pike tells him to report it to Starfleet and has a landing party prepped.
Pike asks where the brown dwarf is that Spock had found earlier. Spock easily finds it but informs Pike that it's tethered around a black hole. Pike asks if they could maneuver inside, and Spock says that it would be dangerous. Pike asks for specifics and Spock lists all the systems that would go down. Pike says that's perfect, since they and the gorn would have to fly in blind.
When Pike enters the bridge, he asks Spock if he has something. Spock says that Pike told them to get creative, and has the computer run a program. It shows a way to keep track of the Gorn without their normal systems. Pike says that Spock turned a compass into a radar and tells him to do it. They get a ping on the Gorn and are coming right at them. Pike asks if they can see them, and Spock says it's hard to tell.
LIFT US WHERE SUFFERING CANNOT REACH
Spock comms Pike and tells him to head to deck 17, there's something he's going to want to see. Spock says that the first servant made his own sub space frequency and that there was something monitoring it. Pike asks if that's why he dragged him down there, and Spock shows him a distress signal from the first servant. Pike asks how since no one could have surrvived and Spock suggests he was never on the ship. That they transported him there where the signal originates. They then find the child in a storage container.
THE ELYSIAN KINGDOM
As they finish up surveying a nebula, Pike remarks that he could get used to this. Spock asks for clarification and Pike says it's a nice change of pace from the battles they've kept having. Spock points out humans superstitions of jinxing things, and Pike says that he never took Spock for the superstitious type. He orders the ship out of there but the ship won't move. He asks Spock what's going on and Spock tells him that it's something in the nebula. Or Pike did jinx it. Pike smirks at that and comms engineering.

- Spock assures Pike on his decision to cut off the Lower Decks.
- Pike allows Spock and La'an to take a shuttlcraft.

The Serene Squall
- Pike tries to deny that he's Starfleets boyscout, but Spock just gives him a look.
- Spock tells Pike that they'll be without Starfleet contact if they go into non-federation space, but Pike is going in anyways.
- Spock reminds Pike that a distress signal could be a trap and Pike reminds him that they investigate all distress calls.
- Pike tells Spock to pick an asteroid and fire.
- Pike asks Spock to beam the bridge crew to the Enterprise first, since they took it over before the mutiny was finished.

Spike had a small following after the release of the Kelvin Timeline films. This was due to them only sharing screen time in the unaired pilot till the movie was released. Although, it was not a very popular ship in the AOS fandom, due to them still having limited screen time. The ship gained some more traction with the two appearing in Discovery, and gained even more fans with Strange New Worlds.
With the two varying canons, some ship or don't ship the two based on which canon they are referring to. Some don't ship them in the Kelvin timeline, due to the more visible age difference, but do ship them in the original series timeline due to them being portrayed as a similar age. Some just also base it on the chemistry of the actors. Some feeling that Anson Mount (Pike) and Ethan Peck (Spock) have more chemistry than Bruce Greenwood (AOS Pike) and Zachary Quinto (AOS Spock).
On AO3, Spike is the eighth most written ship for Pike. It is also the third most written ship in the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds tag.
