“Come on! what kind of a jerk would I be if I forgot Valentine's Day?...for the fifth time in a row.”
— Wally to Artemis

Spitfire is the het ship between Wally West and Artemis Crock from the Young Justice fandom.

Canon[]

Artemis and Wally didn't get along very well at first, mostly with eye rolls at every word the other said. Through the first season they slowly warm up to one another.

In the episode "Bereft", Wally calls Artemis beautiful, and the two flirt. When M'gann asks to look through their memories and Artemis is unwilling to, he grabs her hand giving her the courage to say yes. After they get their memories back, and Wally asks Artemis to explain why she said she was supposed to kill him because of her dad, she says she got confused after she watched a movie the night before about a ninja girl who's dad forces her to kill her ninja boyfriend from a different clan, implying that she sees Wally as her boyfriend. He points that out and Artemis gets embarrassed and turns away.

Wally ends up being the most upset when Artemis got blown up by a laser in the "Failsafe". Luckily she ended up being alive, but both Artemis and Wally were unwilling to admit how they felt when talked to by Dinah later. In "Insecurity", Wally says he trusts Artemis, even standing up for her against Roy. Sadly that trust is broken when Artemis lies about tracking Cheshire. Artemis tells every one the truth about Chesire, Wally being supportive at her side. When the clock strikes midnight on New Years, Wally picks up Artemis saying he should have done this a long time ago. Artemis replies "No kidding", and the two kiss.

During the time jump between season one and two, Wally and Artemis retire and move in together. They start going to college, and start planning for the future. When Artemis returns to the team for one more mission, Wally disagrees, but Artemis goes anyways. She fakes her death passing to work as a double agent with Kaldur'ahm for intel. Wally and Dick are the only other two people who know that Artemis is alive, and that Kaldur is on their side.

In the finale they are reunited once again. Wally and Artemis go to Paris to defuse a bomb, Wally suggesting they come back when there's not a world to save. Artemis says that there is always a world to save, and when they diffuse the bomb, they kiss. Wally ends up dying when he runs at Super Sonic Speed with the other flashes to save the world. Artemis mourns his passing and is comforted by M'gann, but has to go tell Wally's parents herself. Bart takes up the Kid Flash mantle, and feels like a fraud, but Artemis encourages him. Artemis takes on the alter ego Tigress saying; "Artemis was Wally's partner. I need some distance. I need a change."
