Those Old Scientists[]

As Spock is conducting readings on the portal, he notices that Boimler can't stop staring at them. Boimler says that he can't help it given that it's Spock and M'Benga and starts freaking out over the tricorder. Spock says that as helpful as the analysis is, he wants Boimler to tell him what he was doing when the portal opened. Boimler explains and assumes that it's dumb luck, which Spock laughs at. Boimler is put off by, and Spock says that assigning intelligence to random chance struck him as ridiculous. Boimler goes to M'Benga and asks if the laughing is new, and M'Benga says that it is.

Boimler is with Chapel and Ortegas in the bar, when Chapel gets up and goes to Spock. He notices Spock's smile and freaks out, catching up to Chapel later. He tells her that he needs to talk to her about Spock and she asks what about. He believes that Spock is acting weird because he did something that broke him, and Chapel asks what he means. Boimler says that Spock is known in the future for never smiling, joking and being very serious. That he's a legend who does amazing things, that he needs not to have messed up. Chapel asks if he's supposed to be telling her this, and he's not sure, but he's just worried because he made Spock laugh. Chapel suggests that Spock is just having fun, but Boimler goes onto say that he's read every single book on Spock. He goes over the details and says that there was never a smiley jokey period, and Chapel tells him to stop. Chapel assures him it's not his fault and that Spock was acting that way before he arrived. Boimler is relieved and asks if this is just a phase that will be over soon so Spock can start acting like himself again. He then realizes that Chapel has been the influence and awkwardly leaves.

Mariner volunteers Boimler to help Spock, but Boimler awkwardly says that it's not like Spock would need help from him. Spock says that he could use the extra set of hands and jokingly says that if Boimler is okay risking at least one of them. He smiles, and Boimler and Mariner both agree that it's creepy. Boimler later asks why she did that, and Mariner says that he should be thanking her for the chance to work with him. Boimler points out that he did work with Spock and it went badly.

As they work on creating horonium, Spock says that Chapel told him about her conversation with Boimler. Although she didn't go into details, Spock could tells that he told her something about his future and asks if he should know. Boimler says that there's nothing to say, and Spock can tell that him expressing human emotions trouble Boimler. Making it easy to see that in his future those emotions are minimized, and that Boimler said something to upset her. Boimler says that all he said was that he was surprised at how human Spock was, and that the universe needs a vulcan Spock to keep the timeline in check. Spock says that he much keep to the same path he's set out for himself and to ignore Boimler as not to sway the future, asking if it's logical. Boimler says that unfortunately it is, and Spock asks if he's ready to start the fusion. Boimler asks if it'll blow his hand off and Spock says that there is a chance. He asks if Boimler feels lucky and Boimler says that he doesn't. Sparks then fly and Boimler asks if that's bad, and Spock calmly tells him to seek cover. Boimler freaks out, but joins Spock in seeking cover, but it looks like everything has been destroyed.

As they're about to transport to the planet Spock tells Boimler to "Live long and prosper". Boimler gets flustered and tries to say it back only to be transported down.

Fanon[]

This section is in need of major improvement. Please help improve this article by editing it.

Spoimler is somewhat regarded as a less serious ship in the fandom. Due to the initial belief that they would never meet due to their place on the timeline. Although it wasn't taken much more seriously after the canon crossover, it did receive some fans. Especially since Boimler's freak out and obsession with Spock felt like a crush for many people. On AO3, there are currently 3 written works.
