Springttore is the slash ship between Springtrap and Il Dottore from the Five Nights at Freddy's and Genshin Impact fandoms.
Canon[]
William Afton and Dottore are antagonists in their respective game series, Five Nights at Freddy's and Genshin Impact. They are both mad scientists with a desire to transcend humanity. Dottore believes humanity has unlimited potential, wanting to elevate them to the level of a god. This can be compared to William, who wanted to become immortal through the use of Remnant. Both used inhumane methods to accomplish their goals. Dottore performed child experiments, one of which involved imbuing children with the remains of dead gods. William is known to have kidnapped and murdered several children so he can experiment with their Remnant. Both also work in robotics, as can be seen with Dottore's Ruin Guard research lab and William's work on animatronics. They have even transformed living people into robotic beings. Dottore transformed his dead servant Krupp into a robotic entity. Meanwhile William stuffed his victims' corpses into the animatronics, allowing the children to possess the animatronics.

Springttore is a fairly popular crack ship. It is quite off-putting to many people at first glance, as to be expected from the visual of shipping a live human with a corpse in a mascot suit. However, fans are drawn to the ship because of William and Dottore's similarities. Most enjoy Springtorre ironically due to its inherent silliness, but this has not stopped people from creating works that convey more serious and heartfelt lore between the two characters.
The pairing was first created by @lesbiandottore on TikTok in May 2023, who posted an edit featuring their own Springttore fanart. @ThePl4netG4y on Twitter brought more attention to the ship with their own fanart. This inspired several more works, mainly on Twitter, which also spread to other social media sites. Springttore reached the height of its popularity in June 2023, something many considered fitting to happen during Pride Month.
Springttore's existence has inspired the creation of other Genshin x FNAF crack ships, such as Baizhu x Freddy Fazbear, though these have not reached the same popularity as Springttore.
