Spyro x Stealth Elf is the het ship between Spyro the Dragon and Stealth Elf from the Skylanders fandom.

Canon[]

Both characters have been a major part of the Skylanders games series since its creation. Not only have they been around since the first game, they are also the characters with the most individual figures. This in effect makes them the unofficial series' mascots. However, owing to the way Skylanders games are designed, they never have a chance to interact in-game.

The first chance time they ever interacted in a Skylanders game was in Skylanders: Imaginators, where specific long-time Skylanders became NPC characters. During the games introduction, Spyro and Stealth Elf are having a race around the Academy. While Spyro at first believes he has won, he then discovers that Stealth Elf used one of her decoy clones to trick and had won the race herself. Soon after, the Academy is invaded by one of Kaos' Doomlander creations. They attempt to fend it off but are unsuccessful until the Sensai's arrive.

After they discover that Kaos is after Imaginite, they head to Mushroom River and meet up with Gill Grunt. Stealth Elf warns them that the waters of the river are highly toxic to the touch and warns them to stay out of the water. Later, they both go to Scholarville to fend of an invasion by Kaos. Stealth Elf asks Spyro to scout the air while she stays to the ground to assist the Skylander.

When Kaos combines his power with Brain to control all of Skylands, Spyro goes with the player Skylander to Dragon Peak to break the spell on his friends, including Stealth Elf. When freed, Stealth Elf jokingly plays around with Spyro by pretending to still be brainwashed. The group then set about laying a trap for Kaos, which results in them making a Trojan birthday cake. Following Kaos' defeat, Spyro and Stealth Elf - along with Jet-Vac - confront Brain and make him realize his mistake in teaming up with Kaos.

Spyro and Stealth Elf both appear in the first installment of the Mask of Power series, Spyro Versus the Mega Monsters. After Stealth Elf informs Master Eon and Spyro of a monster in the Stinky Swamp, the two are sent to investigate. While there, they are attacked by an unusually large titchy toad and fall asleep due to its toxic saliva. When they wake up, they find that the toad was defeated by Kaos and are in disbelief.

Later on, they are sent to the Eternal Archives where they find a large Chompy pod that creates mega-sized Chompies. Kaos then arrives and threatens the Skylanders, only for Stealth Elf to steal the magic staff he had been using to grow and shrink thinks to enlarge Spyro to a size that will let him defeat the Chompies.

Spyro and Stealth Elf have appeared in a few comics together. Their first appearance together was in the Skylanders: SuperChargers prequal comic -Rift Into Overdrive. While the Skylanders are celebrating, Spyro and Stealth Elf have a pie-eating contest which Stealth Elf wins (without taking the scarf off from around her face.)

In the micro-comic Arbor Day, Stealth Elf is teaching Spyro ninja skills, which he fails terribly at. The elven girls tells Spyro not to give up, even though Spyro believes he's never going to become a ninja. Stealth Elf suddenly receives word that the home of one of her old teachers is in danger and she races off to help.

TV Show[]

Spyro and stealth Elf's relationship in the Skylanders Academy Netflix series is fleshed out further. In the show, they have a friendship that goes back to when they were little. Although they can conflict with each other at times, they get along at the end of the day and are best friends.

In the first episode Skylanders Unite, Stealth Elf bombards Spyro with a sheep multiple times after he boasts about how great he is to some new cadets. That evening, Spyro throws a party and his, Stealth Elf's and Eruptor's home without his roommates permission, leading Stealth Elf to scold Spyro and tell him to be ready for the 'Skylander Games' in the morning. Spyro says he'll be ready, but ends up arriving late and fails his graduation. As Spyro 'wallows in his misery,' Stealth Elf feels bad for her friend. The morning after, she goes to Spyro in his room and consoles him, saying that just because he won't be a Skylander now does not mean that he never will be. Just before she leaves, Stealth Elf says that Spyro can still be the hero 'we know you can be.'

In Space Invaders, after Kaos performs a mind blast on Stealth Elf, the other Skylanders believe that Stealth Elf died. While holding her funeral, Spyro gets into an argument with Eruptor over who was Stealth Elf's best friend. Later on, Kaos arrives but under the possession of Stealth Elf who ended up trapped inside his head. After breaking free, Spyro, along with the other Skylanders, hug Stealth Elf and are glad to see that she is OK.

Almost all of Thankstaking for the Memories focuses on Spyro and Stealth Elf. As Spyro has a history of causing problems for the people he had previously spent Thankstaking with, he is left behind at the Academy. Stealth Elf also stays behind, if only to focus on her ninja training. When she sees Spyro alone, she agrees to spend some time with him and have fun. Afterwards, however, Stealth Elf indicates that she wants to get back to her training, but Spyro manages to trick her into sneaking into the Academy Relics Room with her. Once inside, they end up trapped when Spyro accidentally burns the strands of Eon's beard-hair that they used to bypass security.

In an attempt to escape, Spyro distracts the security system before having Stealth Elf throw a relic bomb at it. However, the bomb disintegrates and the system triggers a self-destruct sequence (it's later revealed at the end of the episode that there is no self-destruct sequence). While Stealth Elf is angry at Spyro first, when he reveals his intentions for coming into the Relics Room, they both apologize to one another and rekindle their friendship. Their actions cause the security system to break down, and upon being told the password "Please", the Relics Room door re-opens and lets them out. As Spyro and Stealth Elf leave the Academy at the end of the episode, they agree to get something to eat, as all they ate while in the Relics Room was 'a random candy cane.'

Starting from Touch of Evil, Spyro has his light drained and becomes corrupted by darkness, turning him into Dark Spyro. He is then sent by his new master, Strykore, to rejoin the Skylanders as a mole and find information on the location of the Iron Fist of Arkus. During this time, Stealth Elf becomes suspicious of Dark Spyro and that he might be up to no good and he tries everything to keep her out of the way. However, as time goes on, Spyro's old feelings towards his friends - including Stealth Elf - begin to resurface.

In Road Rage, Dark Spyro enchants Stealth Elf's favourite bracelet to turn her evil by Strykore's orders. Later on, he begins to regret this decision and chooses to go and save Stealth Elf by knocking the bracelet off of Kaossandra, whom Stealth Elf had given the bracelet to.

During the events of Three Sides to Every Story, Stealth Elf accuses Dark Spyro of vaporizing Master Eon which Dark Spyro denies, and they both tell their sides of the story. At the end when it's revealed that it was all a misunderstanding, Stealth Elf apologizes to Dark Spyro. He forgives her and the two reassure each other of their friendship.

In Off to the Races, Stealth Elf stumbles upon Dark Spyro conversing with Strykore. He tries to tell Stealth Elf that he has changed and wants to help, but Strykore swiftly strengthens the darkness within Dark Spyro to make him attack Stealth Elf. The two have a battle which Stealth Elf ends up losing, but Dark Spyro in the end chooses not get rid of her and instead spares her. His act of pure goodness proceeds to unlock the Wumpan Puzzle Box that he had been trying to open in previous episodes, before being pinned down by the other Skylanders when his darkness is revealed.

In Split and when it is believed that Spyro died while fighting his darker self, Stealth Elf is upset for the loss of her friend. When Spyro re-emerges and is alright, Stealth Elf quickly hugs him and is happy that her friend is safe.

Moments[]

  • Spyro and Stealth Elf share a lot of moments together in Skylanders Academy. Listed below are some notable highlights:
    • After Stealth Elf consoles Spyro in Skylanders Unite when he failed the graduation exam, Stealth Elf drops a pancake on his head and asks him "Do you want to know how I really feel?"
    • In Dream Girls, while Stealth Elf is trying to work out why everyone at the Academy is all of a sudden afraid of sheep, Spyro makes Stealth Elf pancakes.
      • Afterwards, and upon realizing that it's morning and given an idea, Stealth Elf hugs Spyro and calls him a genius.
    • It is revealed in Space Invaders that Spyro read Stealth Elf's diary, and that in it she called Spyro her best friend. This would later be supported in Belly of the Beast.
    • Just before leaving the Academy vault in Thankstaking for the Memories, Spyro and Stealth share a hug.
    • While feeling regret for his actions in Road Rage, Dark Spyro is looking at a photo of himself and Stealth Elf.
    • When Spyro leaves his message in the sky at the end of the series, Stealth Elf is the first one to notice it.

Fanon[]

While not as popular as other Spyro ships, it is a well liked pairing within the Skylander community. The ship started to take off with the release of Skylanders Academy and has become one of the more well known ships in the fandom. Despite this, it's not a well represented one, with very little fanart or fanfiction to speak of.

Additionally, Spyro has more popular ships with Elora and Cynder, further devaluing the representation of this ship. In fact, other Spyro fandoms disapprove of it.
