- “My lady, I may never take my eyes off you again! ...Unless I'm about to run into a wall.”
- — Stahl confessing his love to Robin, in Awakening
Stahlbin is the non-binary ship between Stahl and Robin from the Fire Emblem fandom.
Canon[]
Robin is an amnesiac tactician and Stahl is a scatterbrained member of the Shepherds--guard of the kingdom of Ylisse led by crown-prince Chrom. Robin first meets Stahl in Chapter 2 on the group's way to Ferox when he catches up to them after fellow Shepherd Vaike forgets to tell Stahl that they were going. Chrom introduces Stahl as one of their finest. Stahl is excited to meet Robin in person after being informed that there was a new member of the group.
C Support[]
In their supports, Stahl shows up to help Robin come up with a gift for Chrom's birthday. Robin teases Stahl for calling Chrom an old man before admitting she's at a loss for ideas. Stahl tells her that he was planning a tasty concoction for him, saying that is apothecary father taught him the trade. Robin compliments Stahl's gift and agrees to help him find the ingredients, to which Stahl gladly accepts. Then, he says the gift can be from them both, solving both their problems in one fell swoop.
B Support[]
After making the tonic (which Chrom loved), Stahl thanks Robin for helping him secure the costs. Robin brushes off the compliment, saying that he was the one who helped her, and that she is thankful for it. Stahl replies to Robin that he was always good at reading people, describing it as his only stand-out trait. Robin thinks Stahl is underselling his skill, saying that the ability to read people's faces is a remarkable talent, calling it every bit as impressive as magic, and that he is always one step ahead. She gives the example that Stahl already knew that Robin was looking for a gift for Chrom before she actually said anything, to which Stahl admits that that time, he actually just overheard her talking. Robin gets embarrassed upon hearing the revelation.
A Support[]
When Robin hears Stahl sigh, they ask him if something's wrong, to which he responds that it was actually a sigh of relief after stopping a fight between some of the troops. Robin praises Stahl for somehow finding the time to help people out when it seems that most only look out for themselves. Stahl says that troubled folks make him feel uncomfortable, and that he is a peacemaker. Robin, again accuses Stahl of deflecting praise from himself, saying that he should stand up for himself every once in a while. For instance, she thinks that even though there's a war going on, they should take the time to have fun and celebrate Stahl's birthday. When Stahl accepts, Robin decides from then on, that they will become the person who looks after Stahl, just as he looks after the others. Robin then gives him some fried fig cakes (his favorite). Stahl thanks Robin and calls them a true friend.
S Support (Female-Only)[]
Robin points out to Stahl that he scratched his nose again, a sign that he wants to ask them a question. Stahl is initially confused on how Robin knows that. Robin answers that they took up trying to read faces on their own after realizing how useful of a skill it could be, and that that was the first thing they realized about Stahl. Stahl replies that he's astonished he wouldn't have noticed his own tells. Robin again asks Stahl about his question, saying that he shouldn't be shy about asking for a favor in return since they helped him so many times. He awkwardly reveals that he loves Robin and that he got them a ring. Robin asks Stahl to look at their face to see if he can guess what they're thinking. When Stahl answers that she is happy, she starts to say that they were in love with him too, but Stahl finishes the thought before they do. Robin then expresses dismay at Stahl for the fact the he had been avoiding eye contact with them recently. Stahl admits he had grown to bashful around Robin, to which Robin replies that if he had seen their eyes, he would have known that they loved him all along, before he even asked. Stahl then proudly exclaims that even a blind man could see how happy Robin has made him.
After the war, scholars, poets, and bards alike will all agree that Robin loved her husband above all else.
Children[]
Morgan
Morgan aspires to be a tactician like his mother, Robin. Morgan is unique in that he didn't come from the same timeline as Lucina and the other children. He is also amnesiac when Robin and Stahl meet him. In his supports with his father, Morgan manages to successfully remember his father smiling at him and calling his name.
Fanon[]
Stahlbin is a relatively rarepair in the Awakening fandom, likely due to Stahl's minimal involvement in the main plot, but it does have its fans. Most fics that pair them are wholesome and comedic in nature; however, some post-game fics describe the fear and grief that Stahl had after Robin sacrifices herself to destroy Grima.
