Staja is the het ship between Steve Palchuk and Aja Tarron from the Tales of Arcadia fandom.

Part 1

At first Steve and Aja didn't pay much attention to one another, due to Aja's lack of human behaviour making her look weird to Steve and the rest of their classmates, along with the young princess and her brother keeping to themselves through their first few days on Earth. This had Aja viewing Steve a lumbering loaf with blond hair, who is friends with the odd boy who is curious about the Tarrons.

After the Mothership informed Aja of Eli's presents at the "house" and were worried of what he might know about them, Krel built a mind reading device to help them learn what Steve's young friend knows. Before Aja gets Steve's attention away from Eli at the Observatory, he was able to inform Steve of her and the rest of their house hold being aliens, Steve on the other hand thought that Eli was talking about illegal aliens and that the alien forms Eli saw them in was simply cosplay. Since Krel threw Eli off the sent Steve didn't think much about his friend's alien clam. When Aja was distracting Steve she had him think that she needed help from someone with golden hair to place a moon rock back on its pillar stand, and Steve thinking of himself as a "lady's man" has him being happy to oblige, but Steve struggled to lift the rock while Aja's Akiridion strength has her holding it up with easy. The Tarron's time in the building also informed the siblings of another alien being on Earth, and go to seek the said alien hears later. Because Steve's helmet blocked his thoughts from Krel's device, Aja assumed that the Palchuk was the alien and his dump actions were simply an act to throe everyone off. Fearing that Steve mighty be a bounty hunter sent by General Morando, Aja and Krel confront him but once Krel knocks Steve's helmet off Aja realized that she had made a mistake. Aja informs Krel of this but it didn't stop Steve from hitting him, to get back at Steve for hurting her little brother Aja kicks him in the face. Instead of being embarrassed of being beaten up by a girl, Steve began to develop a crush on Aja as he views her as in "Ninja-kicking Angel". Because Aja didn't know what a ninja or angel is and needed to go after her true target, she didn't think much about Steve's thoughts on her.

When Steve saw Krel at school the next day he asks him if his sister is seeing anyone, but because Krel didn't truly understand what Steve meant by it he doesn't inform Aja of Steve's question about her. Aja's smackdown with Steve had also made her the new popular at school when Mary uploaded the video of it online. Due to the Skeltegs that stowaway on the Mothership before finding their way into the school, both Steve and Aja stayed behind to fight them off while everyone else left. Even though Steve is creeped out by the space beetles and had made a foul of himself when he tried to impress Aja, while trying to fight a Skelteg with a basketball. Before they ran into each other again Aja had picked the Spring Fling King sceptre as her weapon of choice, but when Steve of it in Aja's hands he trades his bat for it before he gives Aja a "I like you" wink. Aja smiled by Steve's wink. Once they found Mark making a video on the Skeltegs before they swarmed around them, Aja and Steve, along with Krel and Mary did what they can to stump them out until Mary's ringtone gave Aja and Krel the idea to get rid of them with music. While Aja and her brother went to get the boombox, Steve held the fort with Mary and had used his ringtone when Mary's phone died.

During the time loop in "D'aja Vu", Aja witness Steve's repeated conversion with Eli at the science fair about why Eli didn't make Steve a science project for the fair as well. At first Aja didn't know what was going on and ends up "jinxing" Steve's words, as it makes him wonder how Aja would be in sink with his words. Along another time jump having Aja tell Steve that Eli hates helping him before the day was reset, again. With help from Steve's former rival, Jim Lake and his Trollhunting friends, Aja is able to stop the troll who is the cause of the time loop but when their actions got her and their secrets revealed to Steve and the rest of Arcadia, they make one last time jump that will prevent Porgon from creating the loop time in the first place. Not long would it erase Steve's memory of Aja's secret, it will also mean that Aja will have no memory of the time loop that no longer happened.

In "Party Crashers" Steve found the courage to ask Aja out for the group bonfire, while calming it is a group thing when Aja asked Steve if he is asking her out on a date. When she informs Krel of this he tells her that Steve's request indicates that he has a crush on her, the word "crush" however has Aja think that she might had crushed a part of Steve's body when she kicked him in "Mind Over Matter". Aja prepared for her date she like the way Krel and their robot parents were embarrassing her about it, and had called Steve her date when Mother saw Steve approach the "house" and asked its inheritances if "she" should attack the Palchuk, before they left. Once they got to the bonfire Aja was amazed by the warmth camp fire and wanted it hug it, bur manages to pull Aja away from it before she could hurt herself. As Shannon got carried away with the song, "Home the Range", Aja begins to dance and even though her dances moves her odd it didn't stop Steve from dancing beside Aja, so she wouldn't be made a foal of alone. Aja was a little upset with the way people were look at her and Steve during the dancing, while everyone else wasn't, she was glad that Steve did dance with her and had told her everyone might start dancing later on before he asks Aja if she would like a smore. Not knowing that a smore is and asks him what he meant by "some more", Steve thought that Aja's question was a joke until he realized that is wasn't before he goes to get some for them. Darci and Mary then walk up to Aja as they ask her if she and Steve are dating, Mary got exited by this and begins to come up with their ship name, Staja. Aja on the other hand wasn't having a good time and began to believe that this would be their first and last date, Mary was upset by this since she just made Staja a thing and tells Aja to not brake up with Steve this soon.

An hour or two after Steve told everyone the Billycraggle story, he informs Aja about a tree he wants to show her before taking her to the said tree. Because there aren't any trees on Akiridion-5 Aja was amazed by the sight of it, along with the fireflies flying around the large tree. Steve was hoping to have a romantic moment with Aja next to the tree on the ground, but Aja had already began to climb it and helps Steve to join her in its high branches. Seeing the stars with Steve gets Aja to tell him about Zadra and the stories she told her and Krel about the universe, but Steve doesn't believe that aliens exist (despite him knowing about the trolls in Arcadia) and tells Aja his thoughts about aliens. The moment the two were having in the tree, however, has Aja not being hurt by Steve's words and was enjoying Steve's company and words about her glowing, before she begins to actually glow. Knowing that she is about to transform back Aja says goodbye to Steve before she dashes off, but had dropped her Serrator that was found by Steve when to tried to follow her. The Zeron Brotherhood's attack, however, has Eli drag Steve out of the forest despite him being worried about Aja and calls out her name as Eli drives them away. Hours later, as Aja texts Steve to let him know that she got home safe before sending him a smiley face emoji, while Krel teases his older sister and the ship nickname she now shares with Steve. Who saw the emoji as a sign that their outing was in deep a date and it went well between them, before Steve realizes that Aja's dropped "protractor" isn't anything like his.

Steve tries to give the Serrator back to Aja in "Lightning in a Bottle", but Señor Uhl sees Steve with it and takes the Serrator from him. While on Aja's end she had no idea that Steve has her missing weapon and had mistake the blue glow from Jim's amulet for it. As Aja and Krel go on their tour with Jim and his friends, Steve tries to get the "protractor" back from Uhl's office. Fearing that Aja would end up hating him for losing her "protractor" before he could return it back to her. Luckily a series of events that day allowed the serrator to find its way back to Aja through Stuart. Because Stuart had signed his note with an "S" than with the rest of the letters in his name, along with Steve arriving at Aja's place the moment she finds the note with her weapon, she believes that Steve was the one who returned it and thanks him. Despite not knowing how Aja got it back and was about to tell her that he had lost it after finding it, he allows Aja to think this after seeing how happy she is about it. Along with Aja calling him "S" and that they should keep this their little secret.

Part 2

With Aja being worried about Varvatos since Stuart and Buster had failed to find him in "Bad Omen", she enlist Steve to help her find clues to what had happened to her guardian. Despite what Aja and the rest of Arcadia had went through during the Eternal Night and the damage done to the Mothership prevents it from flying again, Steve is glad to know that Aja will be staying on Earth a bit long than planned and that they'll be able to spend more time together during summer brake.

Because the Mothership gave Aja's house a pool and with it being the only out pool on the block, Steve spends the day beside it with his friends while Aja and their Akiridion allies learn that General Morando is preparing for his invasion of Earth. As they prepare for the upcoming attack Steve keeps Mary and Darci outside, since the two girls don't know Aja's secret like he, Toby and Eli do. After Krel creates a app video games that will allow them to control Akiridion-5's parting drones from Earth, Aja, Steve and the rest of their friends play it with the rest of the Arcadia until a new popular came out and got everyone to switch games. Steve informs Aja of this when she realized that something was wrong. Luckily Eli manages to ground Morando's ship and bought Earth more time, Aja gets Steve to join in the bowing to Eli. Knowing that Earth is safe again and they don't have to worry about Morando's attack for a while, Aja joins Steve and the others at the pool believing that the rest of summer will be peaceful. Until another bounty hunter arrived on Earth.

Rise of the Titans

Steve reunites with Aja as she and Eli return to earth to help their shared friends fight the Arcane Order. Steve's excitement of seeing Aja again gets him to kiss her, despite Aja trying to prevent the kiss. This causes Steve to worry that Aja had fell in love with someone else during their time apart, until Aja explains that the seventh kiss on Akiridion-5 leads to pregnancy. Aja being a female has Steve believing that she is now pregnant with their child, but after the Tarrons inform Steve that he is the one who gets pregnant from the kiss, the baby begins to fast grow in his belly. Steve's pregnancy has him sitting out on the battles with the Titans, while Aja faces them with their friends.

• Before Steve fights in the Battle of Killahead Bridge, he sends Aja a quick text message encase he dies in battle. Because he sent that message in the past, it is unknown if she got it or not when Steve and his phone returned to the present.

After Steve kisses Aja for the seventh time, he ends up getting pregnant with their hybrid children who each have their father's blond human hair. Most of them were named after Aja, while one of them gets named after Eli. Despite celebrating their new family, the losses of their battles with the Titans, however, leads to the seven being erased from existence when Jim reset the timeline in hope of changing the tragic outcome of their victory, but their parents have faith that they'll still end up together in the new timeline.

Fanon

At first a few fans weren't so sure about the ship, due to way Steve acted in the first part of Trollhunters until 3Below, it allowed fans to see other parts to Steve's character during its devilment beside Aja's, and began to support the ship. As Staja became the main ship of 3Below in the Tales of Arcadia franchise, since the second ToA story continued to showcase their relationship. Even though it isn't the most popular ship in the whole of the Tales of Arcadia fandom, like Jlaire is, Staja still has supporters. Some fans have even compared Staja to the Voltron: Legendary Defender ship, Allurance, due to Steve being shown to have a few Lance-like traits (where one of them involves a cow) and with both Aja and Allura being alien princesses who have a few things in common; while the two sci-fi fantasy Netflix shows were both done by DreamWorks.

Unlike the fanart in Jlaire, where most of it depicts Jim as his half-Troll self, Staja fanart commonly has Aja in her human form than her Akiridion form. Despite knowing that Steve doesn't mind which form Aja chooses to be in, and Steve has stated that he finds Aja's true form to be beautiful.
