Starbucks is the slash ship between James Potter and Sirius Black from the Harry Potter fandom.
Canon[]
James and Sirius became friends early on during their time at Hogwarts. They were both sorted into Gryffindor, by which Sirius broke family tradition. The two, along with Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, formed the Marauders, a mischievous group of friends. Sirius and James were known to be exceptionally bright students. In fact, James and Sirius, along with their friend Peter, managed to become unregistered Animagi in their fifth year at Hogwarts, after they had found out Remus was a werewolf.
When Sirius was 16, he escaped from his home and went to live with James and his parents.
After their Hogwarts years, Sirius and James remained really close, shared an apartment and joined the Order of the Phoenix along with Remus, Peter and James' girlfriend Lily Evans. Sirius was the best man in James and Lily's wedding and the godfather of their son.
When James and his family were threatened due to a prophecy, Sirius was originally their Secret-Keeper to keep their location secret. However, he later gave the job to Peter Pettigrew as he thought Voldemort wouldn't expect it. Unfortunately, Peter was a spy for Voldemort and told him the location, leading to James' death. Sirius attacked Peter because of this. This led to him getting framed for the crimes Peter committed and getting sent to Azkaban.
12 years later, Sirius escaped Azkaban to meet his godson Harry. After Harry found out the truth about him, they became close until Sirius was killed in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. Years later, Harry named his first son James Sirius Potter after James and Sirius.

Starbucks is a somewhat common ship in Marauders era fanfiction. However, it is not as popular as Jily or Wolfstar. Even though it is not as popular as those ships, it does have a lot of fans. Many fans of this ship started to like the pairing due to the friendship between the two. However, in the past couple of years Jegulus, the ship between James and Sirius' brother, Regulus Black, has boomed in popularity. Some fans believe that Jegulus is merely a stand-in for Starbucks, for fans that want to ship Sirius with Remus at the same time.
Fans of Starbucks are often lovers of the "friends-to-lovers" trope. They like the fact that James and Sirius were close friends, arguably the closest out of all the Marauders, and want to see that friendship blossom into a romantic relationship. Many fanfictions focus on the time that Sirius spent living with the Potters after running away from home.
On AO3, the pairing has over 3000 works. It is the third most popular ship for both James and Sirius.
