Starker is the slash ship between Stapy and Marker from the Battle for Dream Island fandom.
Canon[]
The two are sitting together when Lightning flies by them and asks to be friends. After Lightning leaves, Marker asks Stapy if he wants to play Toss the Dirt with him. The two begin tossing dirt up from the ground, creating two holes in the process. Later while forming teams for Battle for BFDI, Marker follows Stapy and joins Yellow Face's team with him.
When their team Free Food frees Lollipop from a jawbreaker, Marker and Stapy punish her for not being Foldy they rescued.
Marker wants to join Foldy and Stapy during their game of rock-paper-scissors. When he admits he doesn't know how to play, Stapy calls him lame. However, after Foldy teaches him, Stapy is eager to play with Marker. During each round, Marker ends up playing rather abnormal shapes such as a house and a dodecahedroid. After a few rounds, Stapy is horrified when Marker plays Four, as in, his hand being Four.
Marker watches in curiosity as Stapy wins for his team using his sabotage plan.
Marker asks Stapy if he wants to play a game of Eat the Dirt. Stapy excitedly agrees but after realizing that Marker said Eat instead of Toss, Stapy takes it back and politely declines. Later when X reveals that Stapy is eliminated, Marker shows no visible reaction towards the news.
When Marker plays Four as an attempt to get Four back, he tries to turn to Foldy and Stapy to back him up. This does not work however with Stapy being eliminated and Foldy being dead at the time.
Marker is among the crowd of contestants trying to save the EXITors, one of them being Stapy, from Four.
Fanon[]
Starker was a popular pairing during the early days of the fourth season, Battle for BFDI. This was largely because their friendship was established within the season as early as the first episode. The two are also part of the poly ship including Foldy, Stapoldker, which brought more attention to the two in terms of both fan art and fan fiction. Marker is notably more commonly shipped with Stapy outside of the poly than with Foldy because of their early moments in BFB. Although the hype has since faded, support for the pairing still roams through the fandom. Currently, ships rivaling the pair include Stapoldy (Foldy x Stapy) and Folker (Foldy x Marker), and outside of those involving Foldy, Markning (Marker x Lightning).
On AO3, the ship has two works for their tag. It is the third most written ship for Stapy and the fourth most for Marker.
