StaticApple is the slash ship between Vox and Lucifer Morningstar from the Hazbin Hotel fandom.
Canon[]
Lucifer and Vox are inheritance of Hell, with Lucifer as its King and Vox one of its many sinners that rose to the ranks of overlord. Because Lucifer leaves sinners to their own devices and allows Overlords like Vox to own both territory and souls in Pentagram City, it allowed Vox to gain control over Hell's TV media. Though Lucifer doesn't watch much TV, saying that it scrambles the brain, and Vox using TV screens to hypnotize viewers into buying his products and to make other demons trust him, as well as do his bidding, proves Lucifer's point.
Season One[]
Although the two didn't interact in the first season, Vox is shown to obviously know who Lucifer is, since he's the king of hell. Unknown to Lucifer when he joined in the final battle to save Charlie, Vox was watching his fight with Adam, and after Lucifer says that he was going to fuck Heaven's first man, Vox's face is seen expressing a look of dumbfounded shock. During the final song of the series, a photo of Lucifer is seen on the mind map Vox and his fellow Vees have made of their enemies, as they make plans to shake things up in Hell.
Season Two[]
"Silenced" reveals that Lucifer has heard of Vox, with his face being all over the place, and Lucifer references Vox as the "TV head guy," who likes to hear himself talk. After being told by Vaggie that Vox was spreading misinformation about the hotel, Lucifer went to try to intimidate him. However Vox did not react since he knew that he cannot attack the population of hell, because he had Angel Dust as an spy at the hotel. Vox also calls Lucifer "Lu", makes fun of the fact Lilith left him and says he's an useless king, while constantly praising Lilith's ideals and how she motivated hell to fight against heaven years ago, while Lucifer did nothing. At the end of "Scream Rain" as Lucifer answers he believes to be from Charlie, it gets revealed that Vox imitated Charlie's voice in order to lure Lucifer into a trap, as the weapon Vox convinced Carmilla Carmine to build needs a power source.
Fanon[]
StaticApple is one of the rarepairings of the Hazbin Hotel fandom, although the two didn't interact in the first season it didn't people from shipping them. Despite Lucifer saying that he doesn't watch much TV, it hasn't stopped fans from drawing him first noticing Vox through a TV screen. Because the two have their reasons for disliking Alastor, fans see it as their main common link, as well as a starting point that could have them get along. After the second season had the two officially meet StaticApple fans became thrilled, despite the nature of their first canon interaction in the series. Before season two aired, there were theories of Vox placing Lucifer under his control, to either make him fight heaven on his behalf or make the rest of hell think that their king supports Vox's cause.
Vox being someone who cares how others view the image he and the Vees build for themselves, has got fans to create fanfics and comics of Vox trying to get on Lucifer's good side. Believing that having Hell's King in his pocket may come in handy, and even boost up their image. Since a few fanfics have overlords trying to form connections with other Deadly Sins, so they can obtain resources that can be found in their rings; as sinners aren't allowed to leave the Pride Ring. Though Lucifer saying that TV scrambles the brain has another group think he wouldn't be interested in what VoxTek or its founder has to offer, and "Dad Beat Dad" had Lucifer not having a positive view of sinners.
From time to time, fans like to merge StaticApple with RadioStatic and RadioApple, and have it as the poly ship AppleMedia. Since both Vox and Lucifer have been shipped with Alastor, as it has the two other ships overshadow StaticApple, and the poly ship has helped StaticApple gain attention. The same with a few other poly ships that StaticApple has been used to create, like AppleMediaMoth, StaticDoubleApple, AppleStaticMoth and AdamsStaticAppleRadio.
