StaticMoth is the slash ship between Vox and Valentino from the Hazbin Hotel fandom.

Vox and Valentino are fellow Overlords and members of the Vees, along with Velvette.

Radio Killed the Video Star

At the start of the episode, Vox received a call from Velvette telling him to come because Valentino, whom Velvette calls Vox's "little boy-toy", was destroying her department. Vox agrees to calm down Valentino as it is a regular occurrence, but he is unafraid to express his frustration by muttering, "Fuck my life." When he arrived, Velvette told him that Valentino was upstairs waiting for a "flat-faced prince" to calm him down. When he arrived, he saw Valentino extremely angry and fuming because Angel Dust had apparently walked out on him. Vox easily dodges a glass Valentino throws at the wall and when asking if Angel had resigned, Valentino responded that he had moved to Charlie's hotel. Valentino was so angry that for a moment he was ready to go to the hotel and shoot everyone here, asking Vox which gun makes him look sexier. Amused for a second, Vox stopped him, telling him that he shouldn't do anything because if he went there, it would make them look bad, as if they couldn't control their employees.

Then Valentino told Vox that apart from Angel, Alastor also lived in the hotel. Vox got so angry when he heard that that he scratched the table and asked Valentino why he didn't tell him that before. Then Valentino played videos recording him as Alastor and the others attacked Sir Pentious, while the two looked at Angel and Alastor with contempt. Vox then mentioned that he was especially nervous because Alastor hadn't appeared in 7 years. Then Valentino reminded him of when Alastor beat him years ago, to annoy him.

The two then met with Velvette to plan what to do to stop Alastor from making a deal with Charlie. Then Vox chose to hire an infiltrator who would get into the hotel for them, but Valentino didn't know where they would get him from, he said he had already hired all the losers in the city. In the end they hired Sir Pentious as a spy, but the plan failed, and the latter joined the hotel.

The Show Must Go On

During the episode, the Vees watch through cameras the battle of the hotel members against the exorcists. Vox is excited watching how Alastor is beaten, while Valentino and Velvette are disinterested looking at their phones. Valentino is seen smiling when Vox gets angry when he sees Alastor escape from Adam. When Lucifer accidentally tells Adam that he was going to fuck him, Valentino jokes that this got interesting, while Vox looks on in confusion. At the end of the battle, the two and Velvette watch in shock as Niffty kills Adam by stabbing him multiple times.

During the song Finale, the two were dancing involving plenty of touching, happy due to Alastor being missing and hopping and wishing that the Vees can finally take over hell. At the end, the two are making out while Velvette poses and takes a selfie of them.

Pilot

• Vox and Val hide put in Val's studio with Velvette as they wait out the Extermination.
• After Velvette grabs Vox and takes a selfie with him, Val's smile drops while Vox glances at him with a grin.

Masquerade

• Vox is talking happily with Valentino while holding his hand, but stops when he sees Angel Dust, and upon seeing Valentino's mood change, he leaves the scene.

The Show Must Go On

• The two are seen dancing suggestively together and sharing a passionate kiss during the final song.

Fanon

In fanon, StaticMoth was a popular ship even after it was revealed how Val really is; a cruel person who shamelessly takes advantage of people, specifically Angel Dust. Because of Val being one of the most hated characters in Hazbin Hotel, StaticMoth equally gets hate for being toxic; however, fans prefer to ignore Val's rotten morals and instead enjoy his fun dynamic with Vox. However, fans were disappointed to find out they were in an on-and-off relationship, since some shippers argued that a ship like RadioStatic should have been canon instead. StaticMoth is either shipped alongside or rivals other Vee ships like VoxVel or ValVel.

Trivia

• In their (now deleted and non-canon) Voxtagram accounts, Valentino and Vox are in an on-off physically and verbally abusive relationship, with Vox at the receiving end, but it is unknown as of now if this will ever occur in the show. It is also known that the two have gone on dates and they would dress up and take pictures of them.
