Steam Oil is the family ship between Momma McCoy and Slick from the Starlight Express fandom.

After the first heat, Rusty goes to where Slick and the other fuel trucks are hanging out. Momma then comes out and Porter says that she's going to sing. Slick says that her style is out of date, but Lumber tells her to cool it. Slick and the boys say that Momma doesn't sing often, with Control adding that she does sing mean. Slick and the boys then do a call and response to Momma while skating around the stage. Momma gets to the second verse and Slick tells her to sing it. As Momma finishes, Rusty comes forward and explains his problem with the race. Momma wants them all to cheer steam, which Lumber and Porter do, however, Slick cheers for oil instead. Momma then stops her and tells that oil is the work of The Diesel himself. Momma then starts singing of the Starlight Express, and Slick joins Lumber and Porter as they listen to her sing. Momma then decides that she'll go in for the race and Slick and the boys all call her mad. She asks Slick to race with her, but Slick says she'd never go with a steam train. Calling mom old and smokey, even assuming that she must be joking.

Momma being the actual mother of the fuel trucks was one of the more popular family theory's to come out of the Wembley production. With Momma either being an adoptive mother to the fuel trucks or just a mother figure to them. This would extend to Slick who would be viewed as the rebelious child of the group. As she's on the side of diesel rather than offering anything to steam. This is also shown by Slick constantly being dismissive of Momma in their scenes together. Though fans think that Momma would still be upset over Slick getting crashed despite everything she's done. With her just wanting to make sure she was okay.
