Stevario is the non-binary ship between Steve and Mario from the Super Smash Bros. fandom.
Canon[]
Both are famous for destroying blocks. Both can also fly with a cape, the Elytra for Steve and the Cape Feather for Mario.
In Steve's reveal trailer, Mario gets knocked off-stage by Sonic so hard that he breaks through the barrier between the worlds and ends up in Minecraft. Realizing that he's in a cave, Mario hears all the noises monsters make, only to focus his attention at a strange knocking sound coming from a wall right in front of him. Two blocks are removed as the source of the mysterious knocking sound is revealed to be Steve, who stares at Mario for a little while, both of them too stunned to say anything. Steve breaks the silence by non-chalantly eating a steak. Steve then sees a Creeper behind Mario and jumps up in fear, escaping the cave without Mario as the latter turns around to see a Creeper right behind him, who promptly explodes.
An official screenshot on Steve's smashbros.com page shows Mario looking shocked at a rather unmoved Steve and Alex.
Fanon[]
The ship started as a crackship outside of Super Smash Bros., long before Steve was officially announced. With Steve's appearance in the popular web series SMG4, which has a lawyer-friendly version of Mario as a main character, the ship gained traction from SMG4's fanbase. Interestingly, most SMG4 fans seem to ship it out of spite, due to an adamant anti-shipping (as in; no shipping, period) sentiment within the community. Thus a number of Stevario fan works are either titled as "love wins" or have supporters comment on it similarly.
The ship hasn't gotten much content from Smash fans, but it does exist. People have drawn Mario in his "builder" uniform from Super Mario Maker, directly comparing him to Steve. Others like to explore the idea of Mario and Steve traversing the Minecraft world together (there is a Super Mario-themed Mash-Up Pack after all), either having Mario trapped in said world or going there willingly. One artist drew Steve riding on tracks with his new friends, Steve and Mario share a minecart as Mario looks worried. Another artist drew Mario comparing Steve to a ?-Block, believing that they're related somehow.
Many have also drawn/implied that Mario dislikes Steve, having Steve be the "new Villager" by having him attack Mario with a diamond sword. Though many portray Mario as being wary of Steve due to his uncanny looks, others like to portray them as friends. Mario welcomes Steve regardless of if he likes Steve's inclusion or not.
