Steve is a character from the Minecraft fandom.

As for Steve's personality, much like his simplistic design, it is intended to be a blank slate. Within the very thin lore of the franchise, Steve (and Alex) are implied to simply be vessels of the actual player's manifestation, leaving somewhat of a resemblance of a "personality" up to the will of the player.

Trivia[]
- The character was named "Steve" at the first MineCon, when a fan asked what the player character's name is. Since it was obviously decided on the spot, a lot of merchandise treats "Steve?" as if it were the character's actual name, question mark and all.
- Steve was designed to be completely neutral, with Mojang even removing the beard and a masculine-sounding voice clip to further emphasize that. Later portrayals of the beard had soft-retconned it as a smiling mouth.
- Though later seen in Bedrock Edition in the shop customization in the beard and mouth section there's a mouth item titled "Steve's Mouth?" along with a beard item titled "Steve's Beard?" with both items both looking the complete same. Seeming to imply that it's up to players if they see it as Steve's mouth or beard, or it could be a nod to fancontent around the years (and still now) were their would be many showing Steve with a beard and others not showing Steve with a beard.
