Greg and Pearl started off as love rivals of Rose Quartz who begrudgingly got along for Steven but later on become closer friends after the events of Mr. Greg.

Pearl and Greg are a fairly decently sized ship within the fandom mainly due to the things they have in common, which being their equal share love of Rose and Steven along with Pearl's one-sided dislike towards Greg for "stealing" Rose away from her, creating an interest for fans on their dynamic especially with Pearl's one-sided beef towards Greg and how that would later unfold throughout the show especially after Mr. Greg was broadcasted, further painting out their differences and parrels, ultimately ending in the two finally talking out about their tension they share from fighting over Rose. Making it a be regarded as one of the best episodes in the show, especially for the fact it was more focused on the two's relationship when it comes to Pearl.
It would remain a rarepair in the fandom due to large preference of Rosepearl and Gregrose along with having a corner of haters for the reasoning being that Pearl was being shipped with a man. However though in 2024, sketches that Rebecca drew of the two hooking up got leaked to the general public with resulted in that shocked the fandom discussions in the fandom. While many were shocked, others weren't given how the two are connected through Steven and Rose Quartz along with a remark on how Pearl's reaction towards Steg in the movie made a bit more sense now. When the leaks came out some admitted to liking the idea of the two having a messy failed rebound situation. Resulting in many to draw more fanart of the two romantically, with even some joking how they would take turns at who dresses up as Rose. Since it is usually seen as the two trying to feel the closeness they had with Rose yet can't seem to work it out but neither try to talk it out about it. Another AU is where they do both move on from Rose and start a relationship aas they both raise baby Steven. Overall, the ship is heavily linked with Pearlrose and Gregrose.
The ship name for the two is commonly Gregpearl but others joked how it should be Preg since it's coincidentally a shorter word for pregnancy. But 9 years ago, the name Gearl was pretty well used for the ship's main name until Gregpearl took its place.
Those who disliked it romantically as mentioned earlier would try to bring up the fact that Pear was an lesbian but is argued back with others stating that it is a fanon ship just like with how any other queer ship with a straight character is, clarifying that Gregpearl isn't going to change the fact that she is and how it is just an what-if idea along with others that Rebecca technically coined both that what-if and the ship itself. Even so for those who prefer the platonic version usually have the same reasons for liking it as how a fan of the romantic side would just with more focus of the two co-parenting Steven platonically.

Stronger Shipping is the non-binary ship between Garnet and Sans in the Steven Universe and Undertale fandoms.
Canon[]
Belonging to two different brands, Garnet and Sans have never met. They are both main characters of their brands, secondary only to the protagonist, and are both among the most popular characters of their franchises.
Fanon[]
Although there was never interaction between them, they were often joined by fans because of the song "Stronger Than You", originally sung by Garnet in the first season episode "Jail Break" in the fight against Jasper.
this song has often been associated with Sans in the Genocide route, as the meaning of the song (the last bulwark of love against a planetary danger) fits very well to the context of Genocide, where Sans is the bulwark and the danger is Frisk/Chara. the version of Sans (called "Stronger Than You - Sans version") has become extremely popular, leading to AMV on YouTube, alternative versions sung by Frisk and Chara and, of course, fanfiction and fanart in which the two characters meet or clash. In some fanfiction the two characters talk amicably, others see them duetting their versions of Stronger Than You, others see them fight to the death and many others.
