Chapter 26
Gray is shown standing on a rooftop while thinking about filling the empty space in his heart by acquiring knowledge.
Chapter 33
After it's revealed that Stephen Ahn (Ahn Suho in the Korean version) placed first in the entire school with a perfect score across all subjects, Gray Yeon (Yeon Sieun in the Korean version) leaves to attend the Olympiad. After the first period ends, a pissed off Oswald Yang (Yang Seonghun in the Korean version) orders Stephen to go to the rooftop. The exact events of what happened on the rooftop are unknown, but Oswald claimed that they were just trying to scare him and that since they didn’t push him, Stephen fell all on his own. Whatever they did resulted in Stephen falling from the rooftop. As Stephen is taken via ambulance to Gangnam General Hospital, Jeremy Park (Park Jihan in the Korean version) messages Gray informing him about the incident.
Chapter 69
Gerard Jin (Jin Gayool in the Korean version) texts Alex Go (Go Hyeontak in the Korean version) to go to the rooftop. Ben Park (Park Humin in the Korean version) and Alex find Gray and Eugene Gale (Seo Juntae in the Korean version) and Eugene informs them about Gray defeating Phillip Kim (Kim Pilyoung in the Korean version) in the cafeteria. Ben suggests they go to the rooftop but Gray refuses and goes to class. Ben and Alex notice how sad Gray looks. Eugene mentions that Gray doesn't do rooftops, so Alex suggests Ben talk to him. In the classroom, Gray painfully remembers Stephen's fall and starts studying.
Chapter 70
After Ben calls him to Ttosikki Chicken, he brings up that their friends want to know more about Gray and that although they never say it, they are worried about him. Ben says he's not forcing Gray to say anything though, but sometimes just talking to a friend can help you relieve your burdens. Gray stays silent for a long time before finally opening up to him about Stephen and their middle school life, including about the reason why he doesn’t like rooftops. All Ben does is listen, but Gray feels relieved.
Chapter 71
Because Gray doesn't like rooftops, Ben plans to change their hangout spot. He brings Alex and Gerard to an old storage room in the annex building to turn it into their new hideout.
Chapter 83
Jared Sun (Seon Jongwon in the Korean version) brings Gray to Pass Edu after showing him a photo of Rowan Im (Im Juyang in the Korean version) and Eugene Gale beaten up. After they mention going to the rooftop, Gray's trauma causes his legs to give out and he trembles.
Chapter 84
Gray is dragged to the rooftop but remains frozen in fear. He doesn't react when Wolf Keum (Keum Seongje in the Korean version) attacks him. Wolf, unaware of Gray's trauma, is pissed off because he thinks Gray thought he could get away with glaring at him due to having a pretty face and he despises bastards who do that. Gray doesn't fight back and continues getting beaten up. It isn't until Wolf threatens to throw him off the rooftop does he snap and fight back.
Chapter 86
As Gray continuously pummels the unconscious Wolf with punches, Gray repeatedly says he doesn't like rooftops and remembers Stephen falling from the roof.
Chapter 100
Gray goes to Eunjang's rooftop and, having overcome his trauma, is no longer afraid. He thinks that it's strange that he feels much better now. He has an unexplainable yearning that can't be put into words.

Most people keep Gray’s canon rooftop trauma because it is an integral part of the story and shows how Stephen falling from the roof still affects him over a year later. Some people like to give Stephen rooftop trauma too, especially since he was the main victim of the incident. Even in fanfics where Stephen has amnesia and doesn’t even remember falling, people still like to give him rooftop trauma. Some people like to write about Stephen overcoming his rooftop trauma, whether it be by himself or with Gray’s help.
