- “...I'm so glad to see you Sokka, I knew you'd come”
- — Suki to Sokka after reuniting, The Boiling Rock, Part 1.
Sukka is the het ship between Sokka and Suki from the Avatar: The Last Airbender fandom.
Canon[]
Sokka first met Suki while he was visiting Kyoshi Island. He and the other members of Team Avatar were ambushed by the Kyoshi Warriors. Sokka was upset that he was defeated by a group of women and made a sexist comment which irritated Suki until Katara apologized on his behalf. He later went to spar with Suki and she easily subdued him. Sokka then begged her to train him and she agreed but made him dress in a Kyoshi Warrior uniform. The pair sparred and trained together whilst flirting, but Sokka eventually had to leave because Zuko attacked the village. He apologized to Suki for being sexist and she kissed him.
Suki and the Kyoshi Warriors were inspired by Sokka and decided to leave in order to take part in the war. Months later, Sokka was reunited with Suki at Full Moon Bay. He did not recognize her without her makeup until she kissed him. Suki accompanied Sokka and his group through the Serpent's Pass, although he desperately attempts to stop her. Sokka had fallen in with a girl named Yue who passed away months prior and was overprotective of Suki because of this. She confronted Sokka about this and tried to kiss him but he initially rejected her because the moon was out. However, after they made it through the pass, Sokka finally kissed Suki and the two became a couple. Suki then left to rejoin the Kyoshi warriors after knowing he was safe.
Sokka was excited to tell the Earth King about the Kyoshi Warriors and how great Suki was. However, Suki and the other Kyoshi Warriors were eventually captured and imprisoned by Azula. When Ty Lee tried to flirt with Sokka, he told her he was dating Suki, because Ty Lee didn't know her, Sokka realized she was an imposter.
Sokka fought Azula during the eclipse, but realised she was stalling. Every attempt to get Team Avatar to stay failed, until she referred to Suki as her favorite prisoner and explained that Suki keeps talking about how Sokka will come to save her one-day but claimed that she gave up. Sokka began to cry and slammed Azula against a wall, demanding she tell him where she was, but Azula taunted him and stalled until the eclipse ended.
Sokka later infiltrated the Boiling Rock prison to find his father along with Zuko. Although he initially did not find his father, he instead found Suki. Disguised as a guard, he visited Suki in her cell and tried to kiss her. She punched his helmet off and hugged him when she realized that it was him, the pair then kissed. After their escape plan was about to happen, Sokka learnt there was a slim chance his father may arrive at the prison, despite his urgings Suki insisted she stayed behind with him. Sokka's father eventually arrived so Suki escaped along with him and joined Team Avatar.
Sokka and Suki continued their relationship. At one point, Suki was heading to Sokka's tent at night and he greeted her with a rose until he realized that it was Zuko who was entering his tent. When Zuko left, Sokka tried to call to her, but quickly disappeared back inside when he realized Zuko was still right outside. When the two went to see the Ember Island Players, Suki helped Sokka sneak backstage to give his actor advice. While hanging out on a beach, Sokka made a sand sculpture of Suki which looked terrible. Aang and Toph said they wouldn't blame her for dumping him, but she thought it was sweet. The pair and Toph were tasked with taking down the airship fleet where Suki flew a ship and Sokka stayed with her. When the trio decided to crash the airship into the others, Sokka kissed Suki and promised her they would get out of this. The airship ended up breaking up in half with Suki trapped on a crumbling part, but she convinced Sokka and Toph to continue despite her almost certain demise. Sokka and Toph ended up hanging from a ledge with the formers leg broken. As Toph and Sokka were about to be killed, an airship crashed into the side which they fell onto, at first they thought it was Sokka's boomerang, but Sokka excitedly realised it was Suki, who had taken command of the only remaining airship.
Suki holds up Sokka who has an injured leg and the pair make fun of a defeated Ozai. When Suki is reunited with the Kyoshi Warriors and back in her armor and makeup, Sokka comments on how pretty she looks. When the group is at Iroh's teashop, they sit together and Suki teased Sokka for drawing her with firebending, which he thought looked cool.
The two continued to be a couple for years, as seen in the Avatar: The Last Airbender comics. Sokka continued his journey with Team Avatar and Suki continued being the leader of the Kyoshi Warriors, but they saw each other again multiple times as seen in The Promise, The Search, and Imbalance.
As revealed in Avatar: The Last Airbender: Legacy, Suki still served as the leader of the Kyoshi Warriors. Aang wrote to his son Tenzin, that she had skills that Tenzin's uncle Sokka could have only dreamed of, and that they made an amazing team together.
They possibly got married, though this is unconfirmed in Legend of Korra.
