Sukunella is the het ship between Cinderella and Ryomen Sukuna from the Cinderella and Jujutsu Kaisen fandom.
Canon[]
As they come from two different series, Cinderella and Sukuna have never met in canon.
Despite this, they share a few similarities. Both are from the past as Cinderella is set in the 19th century and Sukuna is 1,000 years old. Both are unwanted by their families as Cinderella was mistreated and abused by her step-family after her father died and Sukuna has stated that he "was born a cursed, unwanted little wretch". Both are shown to be intelligent and witty. Cinderella is a kind-hearted young woman and while Sukuna definitely cannot be described by this adjective, he is shown to be able to understand his opponents and know how they feel (Jogo, Gojo, Kashimo). While it is Yuji's goal to give people a good death, it is Sukuna who achieves this when battling strong adversaries. Cinderella can communicate with animals and Sukuna, who's vessel is Megumi, can use the ten shadows technique which allows him to summon animals.
It is important to note that both characters are linked with royalty. Cinderella is married to Prince Charming and is therefore a Princess and the future Queen of their kingdom. Sukuna is widely known as the "King of Curses", a nickname he earned during the Heian Era by being a natural Calamity. As a Princess it can be assumed that Cinderella is invited to many events such as numerous balls or social functions. The same is true for Sukuna, during the Heian era he was invited to events like the Harvest festival where he met Yorozu.
However, they share more differences than similarities. Sukuna is one of the main antagonists of his series while Cinderella is the protagonist and hero of her story. Cinderella is a genuinely kind person while Sukuna can be very cruel and sadistic. One of Cinderella's dreams was of romance while Sukuna has stated he believes love to be worthless. Cinderella is married while it is stated by Gege Akutami that Sukuna never had a wife nor did he have any children. Cinderella used to be a servant for her family and Sukuna has a servant, Uraume. They have different color schemes as Cinderella is most known for her blue ball gown and Sukuna is most know for the pink hair he had when he was in Yuji's body.
Fanon[]
Sukunella is a crackship. Both the ship and the whole JJK x Disney Ship Saga took off on TikTok by the user cloudstrifesimp in September of 2023, during the airing of the second season of Jujutsu Kaisen. Since then, it has spread to other social media platforms as well. Sukunella was introduced alongside other JJK/Disney crackships, such as Tianami and Elsa/Satoru Gojo. The general lore for the ship involves Sukuna seeing Cinderella at the ball and falling in love with her. Sometimes he sees her dancing with the prince and grows jealous, other times Sukuna is the one that sweeps Cinderella off of her feet, negating the Prince from the story entirely. Occasionally, the ship is shown as a more abusive relationship with Sukuna constantly kidnapping Cinderella in a goofy manner which was how most videos of the ship's original creator (cloudstrifesimp) depicted their main dynamic as: "Stockholm Syndrome at it's finest". Soon cloudstrifesimp expanded the story by giving Cinderella and Sukuna a son, Katsuki Bakugou renamed to Bagdemagus Ryomen.
Supporters of the ship believe that Cinderella could change Sukuna for the better. Other fans think that Sukuna's nature could help change Cinderella, and force her to become more independent. Their love story is often portrayed as a tragic one, with fans relying upon angst to motivate their fanwork. While Sukunella is still most popular on TikTok, it has a fair number of works on AO3 as well.
Currently, it is Cinderella's 2nd most popular ship on AO3, and has over 70+ works.
