Sulion is the het ship between Sully and Virion from the Fire Emblem fandom.
Canon[]
Fire Emblem Awakening[]
Sully - a knight of Ylisse and member of a band of peacekeepers called the Shepherds - became informed of a disturbance to the west of the capital of Ylisstol and quickly arrived to investigate. She found her captain Chrom and his group under attack by undead creatures known as the Risen. Before Sully can move in to assist them, Virion - a roaming noble from the Valmese region of Rosanne - chances upon her and, with a love-at-first-sight attitude, attempts to flirt with her. Sully tries to brush off the attempts - even trying to kicking Virion away - but Virion continues to try and sweet talk her. Sully eventually relents to at least letting Virion come with her to at least shut him up. The two proceed to join Chrom and company in dispatching the Risen in the area. Following the battle, the two join Chrom's group, getting themselves involved in the ensuing two years of wars against Plegia, Valm, and the Grimleal. During these conflicts, Sully and Virion are able to bond together and potentially even marry each other.
C-A Support Conversations[]
One day, Virion happens upon Sully doing some training. Virion begins, despite Sully repeatedly telling him to go away, to wax poetic about her beauty. He also claims that her rigorous training is unbecoming of a lady and unnecessary when a man like him can protect her just fine. At that, Sully cackles at what she thinks is a joke, pointing out nothing short of a hero would even keep up with her and that she would consider a wet nurse and her children before Virion. However, he takes this as still having a chance and promises to demonstrate being the hero Sully "needs" in the next battle - which Sully decides to allow just for fun.
Sometime after the battle, Virion is spinning a story of his heroics to Sully. However, she points out that he ran away from a duel, something that she notes isn't very "heroic". Virion defends himself by pointing out he was saving the guy that was challenging him from being killed by him. Sully finally notes that Virion keeps dancing around the topic and it's starting to annoy her, while Virion claims he only speaks the truth and whether she agrees or not is up to her - to which Sully says she doesn't without hesitation. Just as Virion disparages at her quick answer, Sully elaborates she was kidding and notes that he was actually passable after running away, saying that he's still in the running to be her "hero". At that, Virion is filled with pride as he vows to prove it.
After another battle, Sully approaches Virion about the fact that he dueled and won against someone by himself that she and the rest of the Shepherds had trouble with together. Virion claims that he did so because his opponent would have terrorized nearby villages if he didn't do anything. He elaborates that, as a nobleman, he must look out for the defenseless and that he mustn't enter battles so wantonly just for glory. Virion ends his speech by revealing his reason for wanting to protect Sully: she is a paragon of beauty that any gentleman would want to protect. After that speech, Sully still affirms she's capable of protecting herself, but admits Virion is braver than she initially thought. While Virion takes this as Sully finally admitting he's her "hero", she notes that she only sees him as a decent guy but admits that she's thankful he's on her side.
S Support and Ending[]
Sully approaches Virion and greets him with a silent stare, which freaks him out to the point of telling her to stop. She breaks into laughter and admits that she was testing him about being pestered as much as he did with her. When Virion claims that was a low blow, Sully points out she needed to play dirty to get a word in edgewise with him as well as needing to find at least one of his weaknesses before she does what she's about to do. When Virion jokes that something being her proposing to him, Sully bluntly tells him yes - which absolutely shocks him (making her add "prone to ambushes" as another weakness). Now a stuttering mess, Virion is confused about this change of heart before Sully dangles everything he told her over him about her being a paragon of beauty. Calming down, Virion accepts the proposal and vows to take care of Sully with his life - only for her to say that barely passes. After pointing out that was another joke, Sully takes Virion along to go find a ring for them.
Following the final defeat of the Fell Dragon Grima, Virion returned home to Rosanne. His absence caused his people to either call him a coward and traitor or ignore him entirely. Sully, in an ironic twist, came to his defense. This actually caused the people to begin seeing him differently and was eventually forgiven.
Fanon[]
Sullion is a fairly popular ship in the fandom, stemming from it having canonical moments beyond the Supports and the playful yet endearing nature of their supports and how Sully makes sure that Virion grows to respect her beyond his womanizing ways-motivated chivalry.
In fanon the most common portrayal, carrying over from their canonical interactions, is that of Virion being the soft husband while Sully is a protective and dominating wife who dictates in the house. It's also common for Virion to be her stress relief as he will calm her down and in turn she will give him a bit more of a spine in his life. It's also common for Virion's and Sully's parentage of Kjelle to be portrayed with Kjelle being embarrassed over her father like her mother is.
On AO3, this ship isn't written too much, with tagged entries only currently numbering in the 30's. It is the most written ship for both Sully and Virion on the site. The ship main rivals are Virion x Cherche and Chrolly.
