SunMari is the family ship between Sunny and Mari from the Omori fandom.

Canon

Mari and Sunny are brother and sister. Mari is the oldest, while Sunny is the youngest. Both siblings are shown to truly love and care for one another, as evidenced by numerous flashbacks and photos from Basil's photo album. Their relationship is also one of the important courses throughout the game.

Sunny will begin to play his violin to spend more time with Mari because she spent a lot of time practicing piano. They will frequently practice together for the upcoming recital, though it is implied that Mari’s perfectionism pushed Sunny too far, resulting in her untimely death. Maybe it’s because of his jealousy for now being good on his own.

Though Mari’s death and the circumstances surrounding it haunted Sunny, she is shown to be forgiving in Headspace and beyond, hoping Sunny can forgive himself and find happiness. She is also seen several times in the house, indicating that she has been keeping an eye on Sunny and has stated that she will continue to do so as long as Sunny remembers her. Mari's apparition appears frequently before both Omori, his alter ego and the main antagonist of the game, and Sunny throughout the game, offering words of consolation and comfort and encouraging him to reveal the truth to his friends. Mari's words of encouragement can be heard when Sunny confronts his fears, assisting Sunny in learning how to CALM DOWN, FOCUS, PERSIST, and CHERISH throughout the game.

At the end of the game, Sunny was able to play with Mari for one last time before she goes away. They played the Final Duet to defeat Omori. Sunny even took a final glance at Mari before she bid farewell and going to the afterlife.

Fanon

Their relationship is very loved in the fandom and it’s very disliked in the fandom for shipping them romantically. Some fan writers will even make stories of Sunny being able to talk to Mari one last time or Mari being able to go back to Faraway Town and spending more time with Sunny and their friend group. Some fanfics will even include their relationship as a sub-plot or at least being mentioned through the story.

This ship is often shipped along with Super Heroes, as they are all siblings. In the fanfictions made for the two, they seem to be hanging out like normal siblings do. This ship can be viewed as platonic or romantic depending on the fans of the pair. The two have 155 works made for them in Archive Of Our Own. The two also have lots of fanart and other times of fanwork made for them. Some people make AUs of the two where Mari is the reason Sunny died, instead of Sunny being the reason Mari died.
