Sunset stands in a long line for the game. Unfortunately, they are all sold out now. Then it turns out that Pinkie has already ordered this game for Sunset and gives it to her.
Equestria Girls - Sunset's Backstage Pass[]
Pinkie and Sunset are going to a concert. Sunset really wants to see PostCrush live, but Pinkie keeps getting in her way. In the end, Pinkie causes her and Sunset to be kicked out of the festival. Sunset is angry at Pinkie, that she didn’t see PostCrush. It is later revealed that Sunset has been trapped in a time noose. But Pinkie disturbs her again. Next time Sunset decides to go without Pinkie. She manages to see PostCrush, but Pinkie is sad. But the loop continues and the day repeats again. And so it goes on and on. Sunset has had enough of this. She wants to end it. Believes that The Dazzlings cause a time loop, so she's trying to prevent them. But Pinkie messes everything up again, and Sunset inadvertently hurts her. Sunset apologizes to her and decides to spend the day with her again. Turns out they're having a great time at the festival. In the process, they discover that it's PostCrush who loops time because he wants the concert to go off perfectly. Sunset and Pinkie managed to convince them that not everything has to be perfect. Finally, Pinkie and Sunset play a concert with PostCrush.

SunsetPie is not a very popular ship, but Sunset and Pinkie fit right in. Fans have noticed that they like similar things and both love PostCrush. Many people started shipping them after the episode Sunset's Backstage Pass.
On AO3, the pairing has gained about 20 fanfics, and on Fimfiction the pairing has at least 60 written stories in "PinkieShimmer" group. On Tumblr, "SunsetPie" tag has collected few posts as well, however, "SunPie" tag has noticeable more posts. On DeviantArt, there is also quite a number of fan art created of the ship.
