Sy-on Squad is the friendship between Becky Blackbell, Damian Desmond, Ewen Egeburg, Emile Elman, and Anya Forger from the Spy x Family fandom.

Canon

Anya, Becky, Emile, Ewen, and Damian are all students at Eden Academy. They are in Class 3 in Cecile Hall. Anya and Becky sit together at the front of the class, while Damian sits in the back of the classroom with Emile and Ewen. Anya and Becky are shown to be incredibly close, while Anya and Damian are often pitted against each other as rivals. Emile and Ewen always take Anya's side, and are often seen making fun of her in manners that concern Damian.

The students meet each other on their first day at Eden Academy, with Anya determined to become friends with both Becky and Damian to progress her mission of world peace. Emile and Ewen are both drawn towards Damian, whom they now has an influential father, and begin sucking up to him. Becky initially sees Anya as immature, which upsets Anya. However, when Damian is later seen making fun of Anya she comes to her rescue and stands up against Damian. Damian, however, continues to bother Anya. This results in her eventually punching him in the face. Ewen and Emile tell the Headmaster about Anya's behaviour, but she lies by saying it was retaliation against him stepping on Becky's foot. Becky is touched by this, but Damian decides that from that moment on he hates Anya.

The next day Anya tries to apologize to Damian, but Emile and Ewen begin to insult her instead. Becky pulls Anywa away and declares that she and Anya will be best friends moving forward, which excites Anya. Damian, on the other hand, despite deciding to hate Anya, seems to hold romantic feelings for her. He can be seen blushing in her presence, and even staring at her in class.

Damian, Emile, and Ewen continue to tease Anya, particularly mocking her for her low grades and general lack of intelligence. When Damian earns a Stella for his midterm results, Emile and Ewen praise him. Anya's marks are incredibly poor, which the boys make sure to rub in her face.

Before a quiz, the students hear a rumour about special pastries that are meant to improve their grades. Becky, Anya, Damian, Ewen, and Emile race to the cafeteria for the last five pastries, but discover that George Glooman has purchased all of them. Becky and Damian demand that he give them over, and George offers four of them. Since there are five of them, the group decides to play a game of Old Maid to determine who gets the pastries. Anya wins the first round using her telepathy, but draws the suspicions of Damian and Ewen who believe she is cheating.

They play again, and Anya tries to hold back. Eventually, however, she and Damian are the last players left. Becky cheers Anya on, encouraging her to beat Damian. He knows where the old maid is, and is about to cause Anya to lose when he sees her start to cry. Feeling bad, Damian takes the old maid and loses. The group is shocked to discover the next week that Anya does just as terribly on her tests as normal; the pastries didn't help at all.

Fanon

The friendship between the Sy-on Squad is a well liked and popular one in the fandom. It crops up often in fanworks that focus on Anya and her school days. It is also a popular friendship to appear in DamiAnya works. Fans like to see Anya having friends, especially after having such a dismal early childhood. They enjoy the rivalry that often comes up between the boys and the girls. While some fans like to portray them as five caring friends, others like to lean into the rivalry and teasing to make their friendship a bit more antagonistic.

There are currently over 150 works for this pairing on AO3. It is marginally popular as a romantic pairing as well, with over 20 works.
