Taeoh & Suchan is the friendship between Jin Taeoh and Jang Suchan from the Weak Hero fandom.
Canon[]
Teddy Jin (Jin Taeoh in the Korean version) and Chad Jang (Jang Suchan in the Korean version) are both students at Eunjang High School and are in Class 1-1.
Chapter 10
Chad stands by Teddy's side, smirking, as Teddy pours Coke onto Gray Yeon (Yeon Sieun in the Korean version) from above. A flashback shows Teddy and Chad being called to The Bar by Phillip Kim (Kim Pilyoung in the Korean version). Both of them nervously enter and are led to Phillip's private room where they eat and drink with Phillip, his friends, and some girls. Phillip has Teddy deal with Gray.
Chapter 11
Chad stands by Teddy's side, smirking, as Teddy pours Coke onto Gray's head and mocks him. When Gray recalls seeing Teddy in the cafeteria, Chad is shown sitting beside him. The two smile and eat lunch together. Later, Chad is with Teddy as the latter bullies a kid in their class.
Chapter 14
The entire school is forced to listen to a long boring assembly. When it's finally over, they start heading to class. Chad and Teddy complain about the assembly. Chad grins as Teddy bullies another student and forces him to draw an X on Gray's uniform.
Later, Teddy, Chad, and Phillip beat up a student in the bathroom.
Chapter 15
When Teddy and Chad see Gray leaving the classroom, they go to Class 1-5 and steal his bag. Eugene Gale (Seo Juntae in the Korean version) tries to stop Teddy but Teddy easily beats him into submission, making Chad laugh. Teddy brings Gray's bag to the stairs and tells Chad that he's been practicing his knuckle free kick lately. Chad comments that it looks like he's gonna put a spin on the bag anyway.
Teddy points out the bucket of mop water downstairs and kicks the bag right into it. Chad says it wasn't too shabby. When Gray finds out, both Teddy and Chad mockingly look down at him with Teddy daring Gray to come up and fight.
Chapter 16
When Gray refuses to run up the stairs to fight Teddy due to it being disadvantageous to him, Teddy laughs and thinks Gray is pussying out and scared shitless. Chad comments that he must've used his head and probably figured he'd be embarrassed and beaten to a pulp. Chad tells Teddy they should smoke on the roof and Teddy agrees. Teddy and Chad continue to bully Gray from stomping on his bag to flicking rubber bands at his head to kicking him to the floor.
A few days later, Gray enacts his revenge. When Teddy and Chad return to Class 1-1, they notice Teddy's bag missing. After finding out Gray took it, the two rush over to Class 1-5 and see Gray had left it outside the window to get soaked by the rain.
Chapter 17
Gray dangles Teddy's backpack outside the window. Teddy orders Chad to go down there and catch it in case Gray drops it. Chad is annoyed because it's raining and thinks Teddy considers him to be a minion. Teddy just tells him to get his ass down there. Chad reluctantly goes and thinks he should've switched to Phillip's side when he had the chance.
Chad returns to the classroom with the bag and is shocked to see Teddy tied up with curtains, beaten up badly, and has an X drawn on his back.
Chapter 18
Chad wonders what happened because he knows Teddy isn't one to lose easily. He is in disbelief at Teddy being destroyed like that. Chad isn't sure how he's supposed to wrap up the situation. Gray throws Teddy to the floor and orders Chad to take him out of the classroom.
Chad asks Teddy if he's okay and helps him up. Teddy shoves Chad away once they reach the entrance and leaves, stealing a random umbrella.
As Chad returns to Class 1-1 he thinks Teddy is a major douche and thinks just humoring him is aging him. Chad tried to think of what to say if Phillip finds out about Teddy's loss since Chad had gone to grab Teddy's bag during the entire fight. He decides he'll just make something up. As he enters the classroom, he sees Phillip watching a recording of the fight.
Chapter 19
Phillip demands Chad to explain about the video. Phillip asks where Teddy is and Chad tells him that he left since she's sporadic, but Phillip knows that he got busted up by a birch and pussied out. He says he hates how Chad's dickhead friend is acting and wants to know what Chad was doing during the fight. Chad, not wanting to also seem like a pussy, tells him that he isn't interested in bitch fights and that Teddy is a little out of control.
Phillip asks if it wouldn't have been like this if Chad was there and Chad claims yes, wanting to appeal to him with some embellishment. In reality, Chad was just making up excuses to get past the incident and stay by Phillip's side. Chad was the type to blatantly latch onto others for power or profit and didn't see Teddy being kicked out of the group as something negative.
Teddy returns to school on Monday and notices Chad now ignoring him due to his loss. He thinks it sucks but doesn't say anything to Chad.
Chapter 45
Chad continues being a part of Phillip's posse and doesn't care when Phillip insults Teddy.
Chapter 66
Rowan Im (Im Juyang in the Korean version) is a new transfer student to Eunjang and sees Teddy reading a cat magazine. He greets him, but Teddy ignores him. Chad mocks Teddy and warns Rowan that anyone who talks to Teddy is fucked.
Chapter 71
Chad watches as Phillip tries to act tough after losing to Gray. He doesn't care when Phillip kicks Teddy's things to the floor. Teddy, finding Phillip's fighting prowess fishy, instructs Rowan to prevent Phillip's underlings from getting involved. When Teddy confronts Phillip, Rowan doesn't let Chad Jang or Eddie Moore (Min Chucheol in the Korean version) step in to help Phillip.
Chapter 72
The entire class witnesses Phillip flinch before a single punch is thrown, revealing him to be a fraud. When Teddy looks at Chad, Chad sweats nervously. Teddy asks if Chad thinks he's a loser, and says now that he takes a good look at Chad, he looks like trash. He says he'll see Chad in front of the incinerator, which is a threat of a beating.
Chapter 182
After Teddy gets revenge against Minsu Gong for bullying Eugene, Phillip's gang passes him by in the hallway. Despite Phillip being revealed to be a fraud, Chad still hangs with him. Teddy stares Phillip down but neither parties talk to each other and the passing by goes without any incident.
Chapter 205
Chad is in the bathroom and reminisces over the photos of him and Teddy. He says Teddy’s name out loud and Teddy, who is using the urinal next to him, asks what about him.
Chapter 206
Chad glances at Teddy and Teddy tells him that if he has something to say, to just say it. Chad says that he heard from Lala Lee (Lee Minji in the Korean version) that she saw him at Noryangjin recently. Teddy asks if Chad is hanging with Phillip since he’s a big spender, but Chad says it’s not always like that and he always expects something in return. Teddy points out how Phillip paid for the room next to his when he went to The Bar with Chad.
Fanon[]
Chad and Teddy were genuine friends since at least Seong-Il Middle School and Chad would drive his motorcycle around with Teddy riding in the back. They would hang out together, drink together, and bully others. They had even gone to the beach together.
Chad betraying Teddy is similar to how Bryce Oh (Oh Beomseok in the Korean version) was originally friends with Stephen Ahn (Ahn Suho in the Korean version) and Gray in Byuksan Middle School before betraying and bullying them. However, Chad’s betrayal which led to Teddy’s isolation eventually caused Teddy to protect Eugene from Hyeongshin and ultimately, joining the Baku Fam.
Despite abandoning Teddy, Chad still keeps the photos of them from a year ago on his phone. He reminisces over their friendship. Despite this, he is never shown apologizing to Teddy and they are never shown making up. They don’t talk to each other but they were willing to be allies to fight against the Union.
Some fans write about them having some friendly interactions, although they never become as close as they were before Chad betrayed Teddy.
