TalJay is the het ship between Talia al Ghul and Jason Todd from the DC Comics and Young Justice fandoms.

When Jason was killed by the Joker, Talia got her hands on Jason's body and used her father's Lazarus Pit to bring him back to life, without the Demon Head's consent. She kept her eyes on Jason after words while training him in ways that would have Jason embrace the killer within him. Due to Jason's deep hatred for criminals and the League's mission to wipe out the bad in the world, made it easy for Talia to guide him to their ways of justice. Jason had trusted Talia as an ally, until he returned to Batman's side and decided to lessen his number of kills. Making them enemies again. Even though she did admire his earlier work as the Red Hood, before the events that got the Batfamily to take him back in. Jason wasn't very fund of Talia's son Damian and the two didn't think that their own connections to Talia and League was enough to make them "friend" at that time. From how Jason decided to leave his time with Talia behind him. She would have used him as weapon, like she and her father had tried to do with Damian. As that is the kind of person she is, even though there have been moments where she does act like a human who is capable to care for others. Talia had shown Jason some kindness and sympathy when he needed it. Like when she told Jason that he was missed by the people who thought him dead, before informing Jason about Tim and getting him to feel rage towards Bruce.
Two of the endings in this interaction film has Jason running into Talia. Along with Jason learning about Talia through a file Bruce had on her, that read like a romance novel in his opinion.
The choice of both Jason and Bruce surviving the blast that killed him in the original story, has a broken Jason become a social killer who caught Talia's attention. On the night Jason removed the bandages around his face and revealed his scars, Talia got rid of the explosives Jason set to make a quick get away, before she approached him. So she can offer Jason a spot in the League, and to make sure he says yes Talia brought her infant son with her. Jason was shock by Damian's existence and that Talia wants him to help her raise her son, his baby brother, in Bruce's place. Talia saying the right things that Jason needed to hear, he agreed. So he could secretly raise Damian as a weapon that would destroy the League of Assassins and the Batfamily from within.
The other version of Jason encountering Talia comes from the choices of Bruce dying in Jason's place, him becoming the Red Hood and decided weather or not to kill Joker. Jason being cast out of the Batfamily and the number of lives he took in order to lure Joker out, Talia approached him with the offer to join the League. She revealed to him that she had brought Batman back to life and that the two of them could work together again. Jason, however, doesn't want to keep killing and feels ashamed of what he did. That is why one of the options are of Jason dying beside Batman and Talia, after discovering the bomb in Batman's hand, or have him saving Bruce from her.

After Bruce died in a battle with Ra's al Ghul, Jason was worried that his mentor's killer would be placed in a Lazarus Pit again, and wants to keep that from happening. When Red Hood ran into Talia at the morgue, where he found her standing before her father's body, the second Robin was surprised by her turning the Demon Head's body into ash. Knowing that the League of Assassins won't be able to bring him again without his body. Jason tried to ask Talia why her father went after Bruce, but she threw the dagger she stabbed Ra's with at him and then disappeared by smoke bomb. Jason wasn't happy with her ninja stunt and pulled out the knife, before continuing what he originally came to do. Along with Jason and the other Knights wanting to find Talia again.
When Red Hood came across her again, Talia informed him that he is no longer with the League when she destroyed her father's body. Jason had trouble believing Talia, knowing that she is up to something and didn't like the way she mentioned Bruce. Before Talia left she asked Jason why he was at the morgue, not wanting to give Talia any facts he simply tells her that it was of an on going investigation.Quotes[]

The attention on this rare DC ship came from Talia watching over Jason after he was brought back to life, through the use of her father's Lazarus Pit. That time was what got a few people to wonder if Damian was really Jason's son than Bruce's and even though the two did hook up in the New Earth reboot, BruDami fans have dismissed this theory. Along with knowing that Damian wouldn't want one of his adopted brothers for a step-father. Fans of the Gotham Knights game have noticed that the Red Hood interactions with Talia have elements of history in Jason's words to her, than it does with the other Knights. While one group have portrayed the two has lovers in their fanworks, another group prefer to have Talia as a mother-like figure towards Jason. Due to Talia's relationship with Jason's adopted father, and AUs of Talia meeting Jason before he was found by Batman.
Most fanfics on the two commonly focus on the Red Hood: Lost Days comic story, with how it revealed Jason's missing time and how Talia was there for him before he became the Red Hood, and the Red Hood and the Outlaws comic series. Since the comics have Jason looking back on his past moments and events, like Talia and the League, as well him having runs in with the League. Even though the both Jason and Talia have limited appearances in the Young Justice, the two appearing in the same senses did peak people's interests. As they wonder what their times in the YJ universe would be like, with YJ Jason losing his memories while the Lost Days had Jason to be partly brain dead before Talia dropped him into the pit.
