TamaZan is the het ship between Tamayo and Muzan Kibutsuji from the Demon Slayer fandom.

Muzan and Tamayo met several centuries before the current direction of the story. Tamayo was a woman suffering from an incurable illness, and was desperate for a cure; motivated to be able to spend more time with family. Perhaps motivated by some sympathy for Tamayo's situation, Muzan transformed her into a demon, but did not reveal the real consequences of this. Tamayo returned home, but in a state uncontrollable by the impending demonic nature, she murdered her family and in the confusion, all the witnesses.
Muzan in turn watched everything. Tamayo, angry, tried to kill Muzan. But the enormous difference in forces made her give up on the idea, with Muzan taking her as his servant, and she in turn assumed a docile and subservient personality. Tamayo persisted for decades, living with a psychological defeat and just accepting the situation.
But it was by realizing Yoriichi's strength in subduing that the desire to kill Muzan was revived. Tamayo that same night left Muzan's control and lost any relationship he had with him. On the other side, Muzan started to see Tamayo as a nuisance and wanted her to die, but unlike her, the demon king did not make this objective an important part of his objections.
During the Asakusa Arc, Tamayo confronts and engages in conversation with Susamaru, a non-Twelve Kizuki level demon. Susamaru dismisses Tamayo as the “fugitive,” and Tamayo questions her, asking if she knows about Muzan's true identity. Tamayo calls Muzan a coward, claiming that he is in constant fear of something, which angered Susamaru. Tamayo continues explaining how Muzan is a manipulative man. She then reveals her Blood Demon Art, which allows her to force her opponent to tell the absolute truth. Tamayo continues to mess with Susamaru's brain function until she eventually says Muzan's last name, Kibutsuji, and dies due to the Kibutsuji curse.
During the Hashira Training Arc, Muzan and Tamayo are reunited. Muzan had invaded the Demon Slayer Headquarters in an attempt to kill Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the current Oyakata-sama. However, to Muzan's dismay, Kagaya, his wife: Amane, two of his children, Gyomei Himejima, and Tamayo were awaiting his arrival. After Kagaya, Amane, and their two daughters: Nichika and Hinaki, use themselves as a distraction, Gyomei and Tamayo begin their part of the plan. Muzan gets launched away from the Ubuyashiki Mansion due to the impact of the explosion. After Muzan regenerates, he is suddenly immobilized by someone's Blood Demon Art. Enormous red spikes penetrate every part of Muzan and extend deeper within his body, rendering him completely unable to move. Muzan attempts to absorb the spikes to free himself, but instead he absorbs someone's fist that had been punctured through his stomach. Muzan looks down and sees Tamayo, the person who had punched him. Tamayo reveals that the Blood Demon Art belongs to someone he had transformed into a demon in Asakusa. Muzan notices talismans attached to her and realizes she had concealed herself using a Blood Demon Art. Muzan asks why she decided to appear now and Tamayo discloses that the drug he absorbed from her first is meant to revert demons back into humans, asking if he can feel its effects yet. Muzan doubts such a thing can even exist, but Tamayo asserts that she had perfected it. Angered by her persistence, Muzan kicks Tamayo off balance and stabs his thumb through her head. Muzan claims that Tamayo's grudge is misplaced and reminds her that she is responsible for killing and consuming her husband and children. Tearfully, Tamayo explains that she never intended to kill her family and she only became a demon to escape her sickness and watch her children grow up. Muzan claims that Tamayo enjoyed devouring people, cruelly piercing her eye. Tamayo does not deny killing in desperation and expresses her willingness to die alongside him and atone for her sins. Tamayo then calls for Gyomei's assistance, and Gyomei's role in the plan is set in motion.
When the entire Demon Slayer Corps is teleported into the Infinity Castle, Tamayo is still visibly holding onto Muzan.
Fanon[]
TamaZan typically goes unnoticed within the fandom, however, it is a relatively popular het pairing for Muzan. TamaZan is often due overshadowed by more popular pairings, such as EnZan or KokuZan for Muzan. On Tamayo's side, the pairing can be overshadowed by YushiTama or TamaShino. People seem to like the perspective of them as enemies and rivals who are opposite sides of the same coin because of their numerous similarities. When paired, they can be viewed as ex-lovers despite the two never establishing any romantic relationship. This, in particular, is written in a context that tries to define the relationship that Tamayo and Muzan had before meeting Yoriichi, which would represent their separation.
The pairing can also be compared to DouShino, the ship between Dōma and Shinobu Kochō. The two ships can be compared because of Tamayo and Shinobu's similar way of killing Muzan and Dōma, the two both relying on poison to weaken and eventually kill their opponents.
Some people ship them together because of their shared similarities. For example, both Muzan and Tamayo transform people into demons, but with differences: Tamayo transforms for good, with a perfect and genuine intention to help, but in contrast, Muzan transforms others under the false pretext of aid and salvation just to obtain puppets. Additionally, Tamayo and Muzan are infatuated with experiments and/or research. Both Tamayo and Muzan were shown being busy with research regarding certain topics on multiple occasions. Tamayo was doing research and was working on a way to turn a demon back into a human and the Anti-Kibutsuji Drug. While Muzan was researching and searching for information regarding the Blue Spider Lily and is shown doing an experiment. Muzan and Tamayo also share similarities from when they were turned into demons very early on. Muzan and Tamayo both seemed to suffer from an illness, and they were both turned into demons at the age of 19.
