TanShino is the het ship between Shinobu Kocho and Tanjiro Kamado from the Demon Slayer fandom.
Canon[]
Tanjiro and Shinobu meet each other for the first time in the forest after Shinobu attempted to kill Nezuko, but Giyu prevented her from doing that. In the process she tells him that it is dangerous to be so close to a demon. Later on, during the Hashira's trial, In this she is the only one trying to hear Tanjiro’s side of the story. While Tanjiro desperately tries to explain to them that Nezuko has not and will not hurt any humans. Shinobu had a sad expression on her face.
She does later come to care about Tanjiro and Nezuko and is seen to be visibly concerned about the both of them, even letting them rest at her estate so that they can recover from their injuries.
During Tanjiro’s rehabilitation period Shinobu helps him train, and even though she initially does not understand his drive to protect his demon sister, Shinobu does grow to care for him. She trained Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke, and seems to be the closest or, is at least the least irritated with Tanjiro, since he took his training seriously from the start, which Zenitsu and Inosuke did not. While Shinobu recommends Tanjiro to Oyakata-Sama for the Infinity Train mission, she stated that he "has a pure soul and is capable of striving hard on daily basis"
In episode 24, while Tanjiro was sitting on the mansions roof, Shinobu joins him. A moment later Tanjiro detects an angry scent coming from Shinobu, to this she reveals to him that her older sister was killed by a demon, and thus that her hatred for demons grows the more she sees the damage they cause. She then tells about how her sister pitied demons and that she even though she tries, she can't feel the same. For the sake of her sister, Shinobu tried to find a way to live peacefully with the demons as her sister wished and to never stop smiling, since her sister loved her smile. However Shinobu grew tired of trying, but that changed when Nezuko came, and she says she feels at ease with Tanjiro to carry on her sister's dream.
When Tanjiro was told about the death of Shinobu, he was visibly shocked and sad due to this since he cared about her a lot. While fighting Muzan, he attempted to bring Tanjiro to hell with him, but Shinobu and the other deceased friends helped him to arrive to the living world.
Fanon[]
TanShino is a rare pair within the Demon Slayer fandom, due to not many people taking a liking towards this ship. It easily gets overshadowed by their more populair pairings, such as GiyuShino for Shinobu and InoTan and ZenTan for Tanjiro. It does have a small portion of the fanbase that ships them and feels as if they could form a good romantic relationship, due to the fact that they were on good terms in Canon. However their are people who see this more as a good friendship rather then in a romantic way.
