Tasuku x Berry is the het ship between Tasuku Meguro and Berry Shirayuki in the Tokyo Mew Mew fandom.

Canon

Berry and Tasuku were childhood friends. After Berry's mom died, Tasuku found her curled up and crying in the graveyard. Berry told Tasuku that her mother would always give her a hug whenever she was afraid and that she did not have that anymore because her mother was dead. Tasuku immediately hugged Berry and promised that he would hug her every day. After that day, Tasuku would show up a Berry's house every morning and climb into her room from the outside to hug her. Berry would scold Tasuku for barging in but Tasuku explained that the front of her house was gated which stopped him from entering through the front.

When Berry was twelve years old, she got accepted to an all-girls private school which she had applied to because she thought the uniforms were cute. Tasuku was saddened that he and Berry would not be in public school together anymore. He insisted on walking with Berry to school and would show up outside of her school at the end of the day to walk home with her. Berry's classmates found Tasuku to be attractive and commented that she had a cute boyfriend but Berry explained that she and Tasuku were just friends.

On one day, Tasuku showed up to Berry's school and told her to go on a 'date' with him. She told Tasuku that they were in school and that her bag was still in the classroom to which Tasuku replied that was good before dragging her out by hand to spend time and have fun. Berry had also recently become the newest mew mew by accident, and chimera animals and members of the Saint Rose Crusade started to attack her. Berry was worried that Tasuku would get hurt if he stayed around her so she transformed right in front him, but he was unfazed and gave her a hug.

Berry was eventually brought to Cafe Mew Mew to learn about the mew project and work as a waitress, and found that Tasuku was already working as a waiter there since he knew her secret. On one occasion, Tasuku snuck into Berry's school, and when she pointed out that he could not be in an all-girls school, he put on a wig and cross-dressed as a girl. Berry was then attacked by a member of the Saint Rose Crusade and told Tasuku to flee, but he refused and told her that he would never abandon her.

Berry began to noticed that she felt different around Tasuku, and noticed that he stopped hugging her. She asked her fellow mew mew Ichigo Momomiya how she knew she loved her boyfriend Masaya. Ichigo explained that she always loved Masaya but that after she spent a lot of time around him, she learned that she loved him even more. One day, Tasuku showed up and asked Berry if he could stop being her childhood friend, which confused her, but they were interrupted.

Tasuku and the other humans in Tokyo were later brainwashed by the Saint Rose Crusade into thinking that the mew mews were evil. Tasuku showed up with a blank look in his eyes and kissed Berry before attacking her. Berry later confessed to Tasuku and kissed him, which snapped him out of the brainwashing. Tasuku responded that he loved Berry too, and the warmth in their hearts spread to others and cured them of their brainwashing, and also influenced the Saint Rose Crusaders to stop attacking. Tasuku and Berry continued to work at Cafe Mew Mew as the "lovebirds of the cafe" and started the cafe's new door-to-door delivery service together.

Fanon

Tasuku x Berry is a popular ship in the Tokyo Mew Mew fandom. It is not as popular as some of the ships from the original series but is the most popular pairing involving either character as well as any character introduced in Tokyo Mew Mew à la Mode. It is often overlooked because most fans have not read the sequel series and most fans who did either did not enjoy it or found it to be mediocre at best. Some fans who despised the sequel take their ire out on Berry because of this. However, Tasuku x Berry is still popular because of its canon status and many find them to be cute together. On AO3, Tasuku x Berry is the seventh most popular ship with 28 works. There are no rival pairings because Tasuku and Berry are not commonly shipped with anybody else.
