Tatlink is the friend ship between Link and Tatl from The Legend of Zelda fandom.
Canon[]
Tatl, along with her brother Tael spot Link and Epona traveling through the Lost Woods, and they are able to startle the latter, making Link fall over. The Skull Kid wearing a mask finds Link's Ocarina of Time while Tatl and Tael argue, but Link wakes up and as they steal his horse, Link goes in hot pursuit to catch up to them and ends up falling into the chasm where the Skull Kid turns him into a Deku Scrub, which Tatl and her brother poke fun at. As Tatl continues to taunt Link, she does not see Tael, or the Skull Kid leave until it was too late and the door closes. Tatl immediately blames Link for holding her back, though it was her own fault for stopping for a moment. As Link leaves, Tatl catches up to him and apologizes for her actions earlier and opts to become his companion from that point forward. During their travel through the caverns, they come across the dead remains of the Deku Butler's Son, which she comments on his sorry state. They meet with the Happy Mask Salesman, who needs assistance in getting back a certain mask from the Skull Kid, who had stolen it from him earlier within three days' time before he leaves.
Once they complete certain tasks for the civilians and allow three days to pass, they reach the Skull Kid once the Clock Tower opens up and Tael drops in on some hints for them, only to be swatted and rebuffed by the Skull Kid, which angered Tatl. Link attacks him with a bubble and gets the Ocarina of Time back and recalling Princess Zelda's song played for him, Tatl is already panicking and wishes to have more time, he plays the Song of Time which turned back the clock back to the time they first arrived which surprises and relieves Tatl. Link heads back into the tower to meet with the Happy Mask Salesman, who teaches him the Song of Healing to revert Link to his former self, but when he finds out that Link does not have the mask, he begins panicking as he explains that the mask he is searching for is Majora's Mask and explains its dark origins and fears a great catastrophe if not returned soon and begs them to get it back for him soon.
As Link and Tatl head towards the Southern Swamp, Tatl finds a drawing of the fairies and the Skull Kid which she is nostalgic. They learn that because the Four Giants are sealed away to prevent them from stopping the Moon, the Southern Swamp is badly poisoned, and a local monkey is framed for the kidnapping of the Deku Princess, Snowhead undergoes a perpetual winter that threatens life for the Gorons leading to Darmani III being killed trying to investigate this, Great Bay becoming too warm and murky causing sea life to decompose and mutate and with Mikau dying while trying to retrieve Lulu's lost eggs from the pirates, and Ikana Canyon consisted of angry restless dead and a girl's father being cursed into a near Gibdo state. Link and Tatl help with each of the temples in the regions to save them from their curses. When interacting with Sakon in Ikana Canyon, who tries to steal Link's sword, Tatl will react with hostility to prevent him from touching it. Tatl also sometimes interacts with certain NPCs with Link when they are doing them favors.
Once Link is able to save the Four Giants, they wait for the clock to reach midnight on the Final Day in order to enter the tower to confront the Skull Kid again as the same scenario plays out again. Link plays the Oath to Order, causing the Four Giants to act accordingly and stop the moon from making contact with the tower. Tatl reunites with Tael, who explains that the Skull Kid is not at fault since he is under the control of a malevolent within the mask, as Majora reveals himself and drops the Skull Kid before entering the Moon to make it collide with the world. Tatl, while wanting to stay with Tael, ends up going with Link anyway. They managed to defeat Majora in the final battle and the Moon disintegrates, replacing it with a rainbow. Tatl and Tael were with Link when he awoke, and they witness the Skull Kid and the Four Giants reconciling before the latter leaves. As the Skull Kid befriends Link, the Happy Mask Salesman is happy to have Majora's Mask back, which is free of evil power and tells them that their good-byes don't have to be forever, and Tatl admitted they got what they were looking for and it had been fun, and suggests that Link heads out while she, Tael, and the Skull Kid go to the Carnival of Time. As Link departs on Epona, Tatl is shocked and thanks him as Tael comforts her.
Fanon[]
Tatlink is relatively common within the fanbase although it currently rivals Navink. Fans who weren't fond of Link and Navi's companionship are very fond of Tatl and her relationships with Link as well as her brother, and they consider her to be much less annoying and intrusive as the previous companion was considered to be. The ship has its fair share of fan art as well as a good number of fan fics as well and it's pretty common for Link and Tatl to be annoyed with each other on various occasions.
