Tatsujun is the slash ship between Tatsuya Suou and Jun Kurosu/Kashihara from the Persona fandom.
Canon[]
Within the events of Persona 2 Innocent Sin, the connection and relationship between Tatsuya and Jun is one of the most central aspects of the narrative, not only via the general focus on the former members of the friend group known as the "Masked Circle" (which Jun and Tatsuya were both members) but on a specific focus on their friendship.
Within the events of Persona 2, Tatsuya and Jun first met at the Alaya Shrine in Sumaru City and both became members of the masked circle friend group, a group of children who all (except for the oldest member "Big Sis") hid their faces behind masks of the fictional Tokusatsu show "Featherman". All members shared issues with their fathers, with Tatsuya's father having his credibility as a police officer ruined after accusing the Foreign Minister's son of serial arson and Jun being ashamed of his father's occultist conspiracy obsession, leading him to deny to the other members of the group that he was his father and pretend it was his uncle. Tatsuya and Jun became firm friends and would later exchange treasures in front of a bridal shop, with Tatsuya receiving a lighter and Jun a watch.
Their early friendship was destroyed by later events concerning the circle, with Big Sis moving out of town, the Masked Circle locked her inside the shrine so that she would not be able to move out. The Shrine was burnt down by the arsonist Tatsuya Sudou, with her inside, however, with her only saved by Tatsuya Suou awakening to his persona Vulcanus. However, all the Masked Circle members believed she had died, with all members except Jun burying the memories and pretending they were just dreams. Jun was preyed on however by the God Nyarlathotep, who posed as an ideal version of his father and implanted false memories that Tatsuya Suou had killed Big Sis.
Nyarlathotep would later turn Jun into the Joker, a supernatural being that granted the wishes of those who called their numbers but stole the ideal energy of those who could not state theirs. He would also set up a new Masked Circle out of promising individuals who had called on him, leading them to perform Nyarlethotep's bidding to collect ideal energy and eventually destroy the Earth.
Despite forgetting his memories of the Masked Circle, Tatsuya would keep the lighter, which would become his signature item, fiddling with it almost constantly. He would remain a quiet loner throughout his school years but became well respected at his school due to his talents with machinery.
Tatsuya, Lisa and Eikichi, all former masked circle members, would later call on Joker who began a quest to get revenge for the sin he believed they had committed.
Later, it was revealed that Big Sis had survived and was Maya Amano, a member of Tatsuya's JRPG party. This revelation would lead to Jun remembering the truth and losing his Joker powers as his "father" abandoned him. He would later rejoin his old friend group after gaining a new persona and would fight with them to take down Nyarlathotep. After defeating Shadow Lisa, the player has the option to have Tatsuya declare his love for a character and set them up as a couple, with Jun being one of the options. This makes Tatsuya and Jun one of the three gay relationships a protagonist of the games can enter into; The other appearing in P3P.
The Earth would later be reset and the events of Innocent Sin would be retconned out of existence, removing the events of the masked circle from existence and therefore meaning that Tatsuya and Jun never met as children and removing any relationship that the player chose out of existence. However, within the new timeline, found in Persona 2 Eternal Punishment, Tatsuya keeps his memories and is shown to have made a new lighter to replace the one Jun made and is still shown to care for Jun deeply, although whether or not this is romantic or platonic affection is kept ambiguous, likely due to how the original romance was optional and it would take too much effort to change the script depending on who Tatsuya originally dated.
