Battle for Dream Island

Coiny claims that he always knew Tennis Ball and Golf Ball had a crush on each other, but Golf Ball corrects him, saying that she only likes Tennis Ball in a platonic way. However, in the storyboard, GB says "I only like tennis ball in a non platonic way" and non platonic means romantic. Tennis Ball ignores Golf Ball with the rest of her team when she tries to tell them about her plan. Tennis Ball is shocked when Snowball pushes Golf Ball off a cliff.

After Snowball threw Golf Ball down the gorge, knocking Needle, Ice Cube, and Leafy off the bridge, Tennis Ball comments that it was uncalled for.

Tennis Ball says that fixing the puzzle should be easy for Golf Ball. Golf Ball agrees since there are only nine pieces.

Tennis Ball tells Golf Ball one team should have the original contestants and the other should have the newbies. Somehow, Golf Ball's face shows an uneasy expression as he speaks.

Tennis Ball chose to recover Golf Ball when everyone else was recovering everyone with the HPRC. Golf Ball orders Tennis Ball to send Pencil to the incinerator. Tennis Ball follows through with what she said but said "Fine" in a very boring manner.

Tennis Ball remained on Golfball's team in BFDIA 6. When they ran from Evil Leafy, the other armed members of the team said they needed to wave their arms. Tennis Ball comments that he would complain but hes fine with letting them do the work, which Golf Ball agreed with.

in BFDIA 7, Tennis Ball noticed Ruby had yoylite, a extremely powerful mineral, planning to swap to Freesmart momentarily to obtain it, before remembering Golf Ball and what she would think. He got Firey and Gelatin to join instead, making Golf Ball (when she noticed as she was glued to the tree and could see everyone from a higher angle) upset, before Tennis Ball explained and she became very ecstatic, rambling on about the yoylite. Tennis Ball sat down in front of her listening to her talk about the Yoylite, smiling.

In BFDIA 9, Tennis Ball got upset that Gelatin was joking about his machines being bad, expressing his frustration of everyone seeing him as a bad inventor compared to Golf Ball and that's why no one listens to him. He later expressed frustration that no one on his team knew anything about science, until he remembered Golf Ball. he took his laser invention, carving out onto the moon an Acetylsalicylic acid, causing Golf Ball to guess it and get him out of the compactor. However, due to her not knowing the prompt of the challenge, she got crushed, causing Tennis ball to look devastated.

In BFDIA 10 Tennis Ball used a win token to get her on the same team as him when she was against it due to not wanting to team with 'traitors'. He later showed her the yoylite, letting them research it together, until their research was disturbed.

In BFDIA 11, Golf Ball left that team, (literally) dragging Tennis Ball with her to another team. She also tells him to use his magnet to get the keys from the lake.

In BFDIA 12, Golf Ball compliments his research paper on Yoylite, making him pleased/happy. She later explains how the bugs anti-poison works, stating they need the queen for it and go searching in the nest for her. She later used his paper to make a straw of yoylite to extract the anti-poison. They got the anti-poison and went after fries, using the anti-poison on each other when the other got poisoned. When Ruby and Needle swapped out their anti-poison, Golf Ball yelled at Tennis Ball's poisoned body that she needed him, continuously stabbing him with the fake anti-poison.

In BFDIA 13, Golf Ball demands partial credit to Tennis Ball's project, proclaiming that he rented her factory out, to which he relented and just said fine to her having credit.

In BFDIA 14, Tennis Ball makes a pun, which Golf Ball rates a C+, calling it adequately funny. Golf Ball got nervous at her elimination, asking Tennis Ball to calculate her probability of winning, to which he pointed out she typically likes to do it and asking if she was nervous. Tennis Ball panicked at hearing she was eliminated, and Golf Ball told him to keep inventing and to win it for the both of them. He later referred to her as 'My Golfie', and stated that his win in that episode was for her.

In BFDIA 17, Golf Ball was pulled into a hug with the fellow No-Namers, and despite being fully able to let go of the hug, she still seemed to keep hugging Tennis Ball until it was time for Cake at Stake.

II x BFDI Tour 2024

During the Q&A, a spectator asks Cary if Tengolf is canon. To which he replies: "Well, I feel like they hangout so much that like- I mean, Golf Ball has a tattoo saying "Duo" on one of her dimples. So I really think that explains they're a couple." Implying that they are canonically dating.

When asked if there were romantic ships in II or BFDI, which were most likely canon, Tengolf was one of the four ships mentioned, alongside PayJay, Silvercandle, and Fantube.

Fanon

Tengolf is a popular ship in the Battle for Dream Island. People ship this because Golf Ball usually pursues her own ideas and ventures, while Tennis Ball aids and abets. Although it's a popular ship they both having rivaling ships. For Tennis Ball it's Tenfries (Tennis Ball/Fries) and for Golf Ball it's Golfpuff (Golf Ball/Puffball.) It's the most popular ship for Tennis Ball and Golf Ball. Another reason people ship Tengolf is due to the fact that Tengolf has canonical implications, as well as the statement from the creators that they'd be the most likely to be canon if BFDI had romance.

There are currently 50+ works for this ship on AO3.
