Thanggi is the slash ship between Choi "Thanos" Su-bong and Lee Myung-gi from the Squid Game fandom.

Canon

The two have known each other before the games, although not personally. Myung-gi had a Youtube Channel by the name of "MG Coin" and Thanos was subscribed to it and was an avid fan, although later he has lost a lot of money following "MG Coin"'s advice. Meanwhile Myung-gi knew of Thanos for his rapping career, always bringing up his loss in the rap battle finale.

The two have met each other during the games and Thanos with Nam-gyu confront Myung-gi about the crypto when players are asked to sign their papers. Myung-gi asks what they want from him and Thanos grabs him by the neck and says he wants his money back. Myung-gi deflects back, saying that he didn't force them to buy the coin. Thanos then talks about his advice and how "MG Coin" was telling everyone the coin would shoot up. They talk to each other back and forth, until Thanos almost punches him and Nam-gyu intervenes by stopping him. After that, they leave him alone.

After food was given to the players, Nam-gyu and Thanos come up to Myung-gi who was eating. Thanos brings up his debt again, to which Myung-gi asks if they can leave him alone but Nam-gyu takes his tray of food and calls him a pig. Then Thanos takes the tray from Nam-gyu and stuffs the food onto Myung-gi's face. This promts him to grab Thanos and the two start a fight, with Nam-gyu joining in to help Thanos. In-ho interrupts the three and starts talking about how the two, Thanos and Nam-gyu, were 2 against one, Myung-gi. In-ho deals with the them and Myung-gi is left alone for the time being.

Before Mingle, Myung-gi was in the bathroom doing his business peacefully, until Thanos, Nam-gyu and Gyeong-su come up to him. Thanos grabs his "X" velcro and calls him a traitor, asking him how he can still go on after what he has done. Myung-gi brushes him off and goes to wash his hands, but Thanos stops him from continuing and talks about how would he pay off his debts. After some back and forth, Myung-gi then brings up his loss in the rap battle finale, which forces Thanos to grab him by the neck and push him to the nearest wall. However, Jung-bae, In-ho and Dae-ho enter the bathroom and upon seeing In-ho, Thanos stops and leaves with his bunch.

In the bathroom after voting, Myung-gi intercepts a conversation that Thanos had with Min-su, which makes the other switch his attention to him and tells him to mind his own business. Myung-gi then tells everyone on Team X that Thanos and Nam-gyu were threatening one of theirs, so Thanos does the same and tells his side that Team X are about to attack them. Nam-gyu then brings up Jun-hee and Thanos then starts mocking him, saying how he'll propose to her with his cut finger if he votes for "X" tomorrow. Myung-gi then attempts to punch Thanos, who evades it and he punches him back, which starts a fight. Thanos has the upperhand as he first grabs him by the neck, then makes him fall onto the floor. As he has Myung-gi under him, he punches him several times and then starts choking him. After sometime, Myung-gi then thrusts a fork under his chin and then onto his neck. He then gets him off himself and then gets to the closest stall, with Thanos trying to grab his leg. However he gets his hand off himself and closes the stall door, leaving him to die.

A rarepair with a dedicated fanbase of people who love the Enemies to Lovers trope. People like to imagine how their "bathroom scene" would've happened had the two lived on for longer or had they done it earlier. Another popular scenario to imagine is how they would be like towards each other outside of the games in AUs, whether it be the two leaving the games earlier due to more people wanting to leave them or with them bumping into each other on accident. Fans of the ship and people in general like to joke about how Thanos (and Nam-gyu) were not looking at the "X" velcro when the two with Gyeong-su were bothering Myung-gi in the bathroom, but rather were looking somewhere lower. This ship would be considered as a rarepair as the two have more popular ships, them being Thangyu for Thanos and 555 for Myung-gi.
