Thanos Team is the friendship between Choi Su-bong/Thanos, Nam-gyu, Park Min-su, Se-mi and Gyeong-su from the Squid Game fandom.
Canon[]
When players are asked to take photos of their faces, Thanos meets Gyeong-su and Nam-gyu who are fans of his. After Red Light, Green Light, Thanos and Nam-gyu quickly become familiar with each other because they both have lost plenty of money due to investing in crypto. By this point, Se-mi and Min-su aren't shown while Gyeong-su is assumed to be on his own. Thanos and Nam-gyu also beat up Myung-gi after food was given.
Eventually, the five meet each other during Six-Legged Pentathlon when players are tasked to get into teams of 5. Thanos, with Gyeong-su and Nam-gyu, come up to Se-mi who was in the process of talking to someone else. Se-mi confusingly asks if she's supposed to know the rapper so Gyeong-su starts rapping one of Thanos' songs, while Nam-gyu tries to tell Thanos to not get a girl on their team. Thanos still introduces himself to her and assures her she's in protection with him. She tells him that she was already talking to someone else to which he's fine with and asks who it is. Se-mi steps away to show Min-su. Thanos asks his name and then welcomes him to his team, while dabbing him up and hugging him.
After making up their team, the five sit down and wait for their turn to play. While waiting, Nam-gyu starts telling Min-su about how those who want to live will die and vice versa, as well as telling their team about how after getting their money they will get out. Se-mi chimes in by saying he's talking nonsense. They start talking back and forth to each other by calling the other names, which gets stopped as players start to get shot. Nam-gyu later asks Thanos for a pill and shows him he has taken drugs before. The team are also shown to cheer for Hyun-ju's team when it's not their turn yet. They survive Six-Legged Pentathlon as they were shown to succeed in various shots.
After Six-Legged Pentathlon, the members sit down and have a conversation. Nam-gyu tells Min-su to count how many players are left after referring to them as rodents, to which Se-mi says is a stupid idea. Nam-gyu tells her to shut up, after which Thanos tells them to stop, and proceeds to ask everyone when they were born. He finds out that Se-mi is the oldest (she lied), Nam-gyu and Min-su are peers while Gyeong-su seems to be the youngest. He tells Nam-gyu and Min-su to treat each other as peers and tells Nam-gyu to respect Se-mi because she's the oldest of the group.
Thanos, with Gyeong-su and Nam-gyu, also bother Myung-gi in the bathroom after the second vote. They have a conversation regarding Thanos' debt which ends in Myung-gi being shoved up the wall by Thanos. The three leave after Jung-bae with In-ho and Dae-ho enter the bathroom. The next morning when Se-mi was talking to Min-su, she calls their team idiots and tells him to stay away from them as in her words, she only teamed up with them because they're helpful.
During Mingle, the team gets through the first round. In the second round when the amount of players is called out to be 4, Thanos chooses between Gyeong-su and Min-su to see who goes with them. He decides to kick Gyeong-su and the rest of the group goes to take a room, leaving Gyeong-su with no team. While inside the room, Min-su asks Nam-gyu if Gyeong-su is going to be okay, to which Nam-gyu replies to not talk to him like they're equals. Thanos then remembers that he kicked Gyeong-su, seemingly after the effects of his drugs worned out, and pushes Nam-gyu in order to see through the peephole in the door. He starts calling out Gyeong-su's name while the other gets shot and dies. During the third round, when the amount of players needed is 3, Thanos and Nam-gyu tell Min-su and Se-mi to play Rock, Papers, Scissors. Min-su betrays Se-mi after showing her the sign of scissors to her hand resembling a paper sign, after which Thanos and Nam-gyu grab him to a room. During the last round, when the amount of players needed are in pairs, Thanos and Nam-gyu pair up and get in a room. Min-su teamed up with someone else while Se-mi wasn't shown who she teamed up with.
Thanos and Nam-gyu come up to Min-su after Mingle ends, with Se-mi being seen nowhere. Thanos tells Min-su that he was worried about him, while Nam-gyu praises him for his betrayal of Se-mi. The three are later seen sitting together, with Nam-gyu talking to Thanos about Myung-gi and Jun-hee. During the vote, Thanos and Nam-gyu tell Min-su to vote for "O" while doing the circle gesture. After Nam-gyu stops bothering Min-su and leaves him alone, Se-mi shows him the middle finger. Thanos and Nam-gyu vote to continue the games while Min-su and Se-mi vote to leave. Thanos and Nam-gyu later bother Min-su in one of the stalls, which leads to a fight in the bathroom, and Thanos end up dying at the hands of Myung-gi. Nam-gyu then kills Se-mi during the Special Game, although Min-su tried to save her.

Fanon[]
Thanos Team is a beloved friend group in the community as people enjoyed their interactions in the short amount of time they were shown together. Sometimes they are seen like a dysfunctional family because of their differences and attitudes towards each other. People enjoy the bickering between Nam-gyu and Se-mi, as well as how the two are like the "angel" and the "devil" on Min-su's shoulders, while others also like Gyeong-su's interactions with Thanos and how he raps his songs quite often because he is a fan of his. A lot of fans were saddened after Thanos kicked Gyeong-su and left him behind during Mingle because it seems as if he didn't care about him. Although, fans have noticed that it would be wrong to assume so because it seems that Thanos was on his drugs, and after the effects have worn out he showed that he regretted doing it by calling out Gyeong-su's name. Sometimes, Kang Mi-na is also added into the friend group because fans think had she lived on for longer she would probably stick with them. People do wish that they would've been shown more together and had more scenes of their interactions together, especially during Six-Legged Pentathlon. This is because in an official Netflix video on the Korean channel, some scenes that weren't in the show are in the video.
There are plenty of memes and fancontent regarding this group because of how funny they were. Fancontent like to show them hanging out either after the games, or in AU's where the games don't exist. Fans also like to imagine their interactions that they would have off screen. Some meme pictures are made of a specific Behind the Scenes photo of all the actors of the characters from this friendship. It gets edited quite a lot, either with some funny captions or the entire photo being edited to something else like teletubbies. Usually when it comes to this group, Seminsu and Thangyu are commonly paired together. Other ships that are commonly paired together includes Semina, Thangyu and Gyeongmin. Although, with how many ships there are regarding the characters in the friend group, there are a lot of other variations with Poly versions of the ship/s included. Rarely is the group ever shipped as Poly because most fans view them as a friend group.
Unfortunately, due to Gyeong-su's character not being shown much because he is more of a side character than the others, he is sidelined in fancontent or doesn't even show up at all. This is usually because songs in fan animations or edits don't have enough space for him, which results in him showing up way less than the other members. Even in fanart he sometimes isn't drawn in at all. Although, that doesn't take away the fact that people noticed that the group started to slowly die after his death in Mingle. Because of this, people started to say that the fallout of the group was because of Gyeong-su's death, and even call him the "glue" of the team.

- Nam-gyu also mentions he actually knew Thanos when he used to work at Club Pentagon as a manager.
- Everyone's number in the group is an even number except for Min-su who's an odd number.
- Se-mi's number is 380, Gyeong-su's number is 256, Thanos' number is 230 and Nam-gyu's number is 124. Min-su's number is 125.
- Everyone in the team is in their 20s.
- It is unknown when Thanos was born specifically. Nam-gyu and Min-su are both peers born in 1997. Gyeong-su is born in 1998 while Se-mi is either born the same year or later.
- In an official Netflix video, it was revealed why this team was written into the story. Unfortunately, Gyeong-su isn't mentioned.[1]
- The actor behind Min-su, Lee Da-wit, mentions in the video the name of the group, "Thanos Team".
- He also says that the creator of the show, Hwang Dong-hyuk, wanted to show that young people might end up in a game like Squid Game, regardless of how much money there is, which is why the team is so young in their 20s.
