The Great Seven is the friend ship between the Queen of Hearts, Scar, Ursula, Jafar, the Evil Queen, Hades and Maleficent from the Twisted Wonderland fandom.

Canon

 Although the Disney villains that the phone game decided to focus on the most may not physically appear in it, they do serve an important role in its lore. Along with the seven in question being represented through the game's main location and characters, that were inspired by them. Even though the back story of the seven themselves, in the game's universe, are a mystery.

The Great Seven of the Twisted Wonderland universe are modelled after seven of Disney's classic villains (the Queen of Hearts, Scar, Ursula, Jafar, the Evil Queen, Hades and Maleficent), who are presented as seven influential figures. Their deeds are spoken through many legends and this has Night Raven College model their seven dorms after them. The all boys college for magical users also has statues of the seven that are located in Main Street of the school, and has the seven's deeds and TWST titles written under each of their statues. While the Queen of Hearts maintains her original title that she is well known as, Scar is known as the King of Beasts, Ursula maintains her title as the Sea Witch, Jafar goes by the Sorcerer of the Sands, the Evil Queen is revered as the Fairest Queen, Hades being the ruler of the Underworld has him addressed as the King of the Underworld and Maleficent, who is described to be the most powerful of the seven, is dubbed as the Thorn Fairy (Thorn Witch in the Japanese version). Throughout the game the seven are only addressed by these titles, rather than their actual names, but maintain their classic appearances. Along with having the seven sound important in ways that would have people respect than despise them. With Twisted Wonderland being a world of villains.

Not only does Night Raven honour the Great Seven through the seven dorms and statues in their image, they have the Dark Mirror (which is the Evil Queen's Magic Mirror) read the souls of the students who possess similar qualities to the seven. That way new students can be placed in the dorm of their respected influential figure. For example, Heartslabyul students hold a piece of the Queen of Hearts' spirit of strictness, Savanaclaw embody the King of Beasts' persistence spirit, Octavinelle stands for the Sea Witch's spirit of benevolence, Scarabia being based upon the Sorcerer of the Sands' mindfulness spirit, Pomefiore having the most beautiful students have them represent the Fairest Queen's spirit of tenacity, Ignihyde is based on the King of the Underworld's diligence spirit, and with students who were sorted into Diasomnia exceling at magic across the board its references the Thorn Fairy's spirit of nobility. The students of these dorms also excel in the skills and fields that the Disney villains were known for, like potions (as well as poisons), making deals that result in brains (between the Octavinelle and Scarabia students), animal-like athletics (with the Savanaclaw students being beastmen), respectful of rules and how to master their magic. With six of the Housewardens and one of the vice-Housewardens strongly resemble the Great Seven with their appearances and character traits, the other main students seen in the game reference the people that Disney's classic villains knew and were either allies or enemies with.

Just as the décor of the dorms and the qualities of the students mirror the Great Seven in their own ways, it is the same with the color schemes and styles of the dorm crests and the uniforms that are worn by the Dorm Leaders. For example, the shield of the Heartslabyul crest is shaped like a heart and like the crest for the Pomefiore dorm, both shields have the queens' crowns as part of their design. Just as Pomefiore and Octavinelle have the Evil Queen's poison apple and Ursula's shell on their crest shields, and are part of the dorm leader's unique uniform designs, from being the villains' trademark items. With Scar as the only animal member of the group, his face is used as Savanaclaw's crest shield. Similar to how the animal/creature forms of Jafar and Maleficent, and Hades' three headed dog, are included on the crest shields for Scarabia, Diasomnia and Ignihyde. Showcasing the similarities and traits that the villains share among one another.

When the main story has the dorm's Housewardens (and Scarabia's vice-Housewarden) overblot from overusing their magic while they were in an negative emotion state of mind, they transform into self image versions of the seven classic villains that their dorms and characters were based upon. There are also overblot monster entities, hovering behind them, that are based on each of the Great Seven. Before each of this overblots happened, Yuu (the MC) has dreams of scenes that the seven were in from their separate Disney films.

Fanon

Much like the Council of Disney Villains from the Kingdom Hearts fandom and the four main villain parents of the Descendants universe, the Great Seven being a canon group of classic Disney antagonists is one of the things that people love about them. Although the seven didn't physically appear in Twisted Wonderland, there are statues, images, mentions and even references to them. The seven Housewardens of Night Raven College have also been viewed as their TWST parallel counterparts, with each one of them having similar energies to those that their dorms were modelled after in their honour. Along with their overblot forms making the dorm leaders look closely like the seven classic Disney villains themselves.

Though some people wish that the seven would make some sort of appearance, that isn't limited to mention, reference nor cameo. Feeling that they want to know their TWST back stories, and wonder if they have in fact known each other in the game's universe. There have also been theories that the Great Seven themselves might be connected or some how the reason for the Housewardens' overblots. Like they were trying to return through the Dorm Leaders who model themselves after the seven. With some believing that the overblot monster entities might have been the spirits of the seven, or simply contained a part of their essences that came from the overblot victims.

With a legend of the seven Disney villains as grand beings that have the seven dorms of Night Raven College be modelled after each one of the Great Seven, it has got a few people to parallel them with the four Hogwarts founders from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Since the base of a student's dorm sorting at Night Raven are due to their soul qualities, similar to the quality traits and skills that are used for the sorting of the Hogwarts houses. Along with how both schools take on those of magic, have talking portraits and similar types of classes, like a flying broomstick related sport and potion making.

After Judge Claude Frollo was added to the TWST universe, through the game's Glorious Masquerade: Let the Bell of Solace Ring event, it got fans to wonder what other classic Disney villain would be added next. And if they too have crossed paths with the Great Seven.

Trivia

• In Dire Crowley's office there are screengrab portraits of the seven.
• All seven villains have appeared in the Kingdom Hearts universe. Five of the seven (Maleficent, Jafar, Ursula, Hades and Scar) were members of the Council of Disney Villains.
• Other Disney villains are referenced through characters who were inspired by them. Most of these characters started out as Night Raven College staff, before special events began to add in other Disney villain inspired characters as guests.
  • Although the "Jester Judge" (Judge Claude Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame) wasn't a member of the Great Seven, he was said to have been on par with them. Much like the dorms at Night Raven College, Noble Bell College is modelled after the judge who lived at City of Flowers and is spoken highly as a historic figure. Just as the Great Seven are respected as influential figures.
