Ariel is King Triton's youngest daughter who looks closely like his late wife, Queen Athena. The two were very close during Ariel's child years, as Triton filled their underwater kingdom with music and allowed his people and family to spend time on the surface world. Until they were attacked by a human ship and Athena died trying to save the gift he gave her. Since then Triton became very strict and protective of Ariel and her older sisters. As well as him leaving his daughters under the watchful eye of their governess, who disliked Ariel the most. Ariel had very little memories of the happier times she had with her father, resulting in a wedge between them. Until Sebastian reminded Ariel of those days and told her the event that caused her father to be the way he is. Helping Ariel to see that his grief and pain was the reason why he has forgotten to be happy, and wishes to bring that emotion back into his life. Believing that it would also get her father to lift his music ban.

The family bonds between Ariel and King Triton has made their familyship the main one of the whole The Little Mermaid fandom. Fans of the second film even found it funny that Ariel ended up turning into a father when she was trying to protect Melody from dangers from the sea. Just has Triton wanted to protect Ariel from the dangers of the surface world. Fans of the Broadway musical adaption of The Little Mermaid liked the way that Triton and Ariel were made the brother and niece of Ursula, as it gets Ariel to wonder which side of the family she should side with.

Davsula is a Disney Villain crossover ship, between a classic animated villain and a live-action villain. The two being villains of the sea, who have their own set of tentacles, is what helped to inspire the ship. Those who don't ship them sometime like to feature in death battles, as they wonder which one of the two would win.
The heartbreak Davy Jones felt when Calypso didn't keep her promise of waiting for him, and went on a rampage because of his pain, it got fans to picture him seeking comfort from Ursula. Thinking that she wouldn't turn him away and with the both of them tentacle villains of the sea. Ursula is also the kind of person who wouldn't pass up on the opportunity to "help" the poor unfortunate soul of Davy Jones. As it would allow her to have the sea devil in her pocket.
Within the Descendants fandom, fans like to headcannon Davy Jones as Uma's father. As it would explain how a sea witch's daughter chose to present herself as a pirate, since Uma's friendship with Harry Hook disproves any theories of Captain Hook being her father. Whenever fans create posts on this headcannon, they use Ursula's Once Upon A Time counterpart. With her looking closely like Uma, than the original Ursula does.
Outside the Descendants fandom, fan artists use Ursula's classic animated self in their work of the two. JakeyFrolloGothel on DeviantArt has done quite a few manips on the ship, with classic Ursula. Tumblr also has a few on the two, most of them are of the Descendants headcannon.

Mowriel[]
Mowriel is the family ship between Mowgli and Ariel from The Jungle Book and The Little Mermaid fandoms.
Canon[]
As Mowgli and Ariel are from different series, they have never met in canon. Even though a few Disney crossover video games could have the two crossing paths with each other or get them added to the same team, by the player's choice.
Throughout their Disney films, both Mowgli and Ariel feel most happy in places that they were told to never go near. Her mermaid abilities allow her to understand certain kinds of animals that live under or close by the sea, while Mowgli's time in the jungle allowed him to learn its many animal tongs.

The ship commonly has Ariel and Mowgli residing in the jungle world of The Jungle Book, as a family where Ariel commonly serves as Mowgli's adoptive older sister. The family ship between the two Disney characters originates from a The Little Mermaid/The Jungle Book crossover fanfic on DeviantArt that has a loyal following. The story got a few fans to explore idea of Ariel and Mowgli's family bond and their shared times in the jungle together through their own fanworks. There have even been fans who have Ariel turning Mowgli, from a young age, into a merman so she can raise him in her underwater world as his adoptive mother.
Manip fanart of the ship commonly uses screenshots from The Jungle Book, Pocahontas and Tarzan, in order to place Ariel in a jungle. Just as the underwater world side of the ship uses screenshots from The Little Mermaid to feature Mowgli as a merman.
Fans see the two getting into trouble together and helping one another to get out of it. Along with them confiding in one another about some people making choices for them, without their say so. While Bagheera's determination to get Mowgli to the Man Village has him not wanting to be separated from Ariel.

Ursoogie[]
Ursoogie is the het ship between Ursula and Oogie Boogie from The Little Mermaid and The Nightmare Before Christmas fandoms.

With them coming from two separate films and universes, Ursula and Oogie never met. Part from when Disney's crossover medias, mostly video games, have placed the two in the same universe. Allowing players to place their favourite characters together, or have them fight against one another.
The villains trailer for Disney's Mirrorverse showcased Oogie and Ursula as the two main focused characters. When Oogie was distracted fighting the fractures he was facing, he failed to notice the archer fracture behind him. Luckily Ursula arrived and takes the fracture out, before they could shoot an arrow at him. Oogie being competitive didn't appreciate the save, judging by the negative look on his face towards her, and then displays his fighting skills to the next wave of fractures. Ursula wasn't amused by this and pushed herself in frost him, so she can take down the charging fractures, while displaying her combat powers. When more fractures arrived to attack the two, Hades appears from behind them and then has Oogie and Ursula join his alliance of villain guardians. In the app game itself, both Ursula and Oogie are classed as Tank characters, meaning that they specialize in defence.

Ursoogie is one of the rare cross ships between two Disney villains. The ship gained a few supporters when Mirrorverse released a trailer that focused on the two, just as the first Mirrorverse trailer helped to inspire the ship between Belle x Sulley.

- Oogie and Ursula were members of the Council of Disney Villains from the first game of the Kingdom Hearts franchise. They were allies before the council was defeated and it's surviving members disbanded to only cause trouble in their home worlds alone. Ursula was one of those survivors, while Oogie was resurrected and like the sea witch he only wishes to chaos havoc for the hero foes of his home world. But they both ended up being defeated for good in Kingdom Hearts II.

Ursula x Shell is the cargo ship between Ursula and her magic shell necklace from The Little Mermaid fandom.

In the Broadway version of the Disney film, the magic shell isn't used as the charm on her necklace, as the stage musical enlarged it and has the magic shell be known as Nautilus. With it serving as a major plot point in the story, that isn't limited to it serving as a mixture between the necklace and her cauldron. Ursula had inherited from her late father, so she would use it to rule her half of the sea, while her older brother was given the trident. The revised book of the musical reveals that Poseidon gave Ursula her shell out of guilt, due to his disgust and inability to love her. Along with hoping that it would suppress Ursula's sadistic nature, but it failed to do so as she used the shell's power to kill her six older sisters, and heavily implied to commit patricide with it as well, and usurp the throne. When Trident banished Ursula for her crime, she takes the shell with her. Ursula claims to Ariel that she uses the shell to store items, like her voice that she trades for human legs. Ariel was once told that the Shell would kill Ursula if anything should happen to it, despite Ursula saying that isn't so, the destruction of the shell does kill Ursula along with it. Subjecting that it might have been the source of her powers.

The golden shell of Ursula's necklace has always been seen as her iconic trademark item. Just as a fork is seen as one of Ariel's well known items. Like how Disney uses the shell as a cameo item to reference Ursula in their many medias, fans also use it to reference her in fanwork. From moodboards to OCs who are modelled after her.

- Ursula's necklace is one of the Wicked Nine items in Sofia the First.
- In Descendants Ursula's daughter, Uma inherited her mother's magical necklace. Because of the barrier around the Isle of Lost, it blocked the shell's magic until Uma managed to escape the island. Allowing the shell's magic to return and aid Uma when she was in need of its power.
- A larger version of the shell is placed on Ursula's back, as part of her Mirrorverse design.
- With the Octavinelle dorm based upon Ursula, within the Twisted Wonderland universe, it has the shell of her necklace be part of its many designs. Starting with the shell being on the dorm's shield crest and a purple colord version of the shell are on the hats, that are part of the dorm's unique uniform design.
- With Azul Ashengrotto modelled after Ursula, his Overblot form has him wearing a replica of Ursula's necklace.

- The three of them appeared in the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Although it appeared that they perished in the first game, they return in Kingdom Hearts II, to play out the events from their Disney film.
- Azul Ashengrotto and the Leech Twins (Floyd and Jade) from Twisted Wonderland are modelled after Ursula and her eels. With their dorm, Octavinelle based upon Ursula. In the game, the three are friends and Azul appears to be the leader of the three.
- Flotsam and Jetsam have none speaking roles in the 2023 live-action remake. Leaving Ursula to serve as the only voice of the trio.
