The Super Six consists of characters from different franchises and different companies altogether. More than half of the characters are from Disney movies. While the rest of them are from Dreamworks and Paramount Pictures. While the characters from different movies never met, the ones who are from the same ones did. For example, Elsa and Anna are canonically sisters in their respective movie, Frozen.

The Super Six is a poly ship that consists of many characters. However, it started with just a ship, and as the respective franchises grew more and more popular amongst fandom spaces, more ships joined and characters even started being shipped in multiple ways (different from how it started). Rapunzel and Hiccup were the first two characters to be shipped with one another. In 2012, Brave and Rise of the Guardians were released and thus the second ship, Jarida, was born. Despite the fact that the Rise of the Guardians movie did not perform well at the box office, the character of Jack Frost got so popular within fandom spaces, like the ones on Tumblr and Deviantart, that he was added to the growing group, alongside Merida. Since the four of them were now intertwined as a poly ship, the ship between Jack and Rapunzel got way more popular than the initial one between the latter and Hiccup. And in late 2012/beginning of 2013, The Big Four group got created.
However, everything drastically changed with the release of the massively popular Disney film, Frozen. So much so that the Rise of the Brave Tangled Dragons became Rise of the Brave Tangled Frozen Dragons. And now adding Elsa and Anna to the poly ship, The Super Six ship was formed. Jelsa, the ship between Elsa and Jack Frost quickly became the most popular ship within The Super Six. The fact that both charactes had ice powers was one of the main reasons why fans started shipping them so massively. Fanworks of the ship even garnered over millions of views. And it ended up overshadowing Jackunzel, which was the most popular ship before the introduction of the Frozen characters to the poly ship. This led to ship wars between Jackunzel and Jelsa shippers between which one was the more "logical" or "valid" ship. And since LGBT+ fans kept being excluded from these ship spaces, they started shipping the two girls, Elsa and Rapunzel, alongside Elsida, the ship between Elsa and Merida.
