The Vampire Diaries ships. This page is for ships with a lack of content, or for ships with minimal interactions. Please add as much content as you can to the sections below. Once a ship meets the requirements, you are welcome to create a page.
The current requirements for ship pages are:
- 20 sentences split between the canon and fanon sections, with content in both sections.
- One minimum link under the fandom section (e.g. AO3 tags, Tumblr links)

Hafael is the het ship between Hope Mikaelson and Rafael Waithe from the Legacies fandom.
Canon[]
Rafael and Hope met after Rafael had triggered his werewolf curse and was being forced into a exorcism by his deeply religious foster parents who believed he was possessed. Hope, along with Alaric, rescued Rafael and his foster brother Landon, and brought the two of them to Salvatore Boarding School. There they meet the Saltzman twins, who both take a liking to Rafael and insist in giving him a tour around the school.
Despite the twins' interests, and having slept with Lizzie on an impulse, Rafael quickly realized he had feelings for Hope, and has a dream of kissing her, which leads to him becoming jealous of Landon for dating her. He becomes torn between his affection for her and his loyal to Landon. For his foster brother's sake, Raf tries not to be Hope's friend a few times, but each time unable to stay away from her, and the two become good friends regardless of occasional strains caused by Raf's unrequited feelings. He vows to Landon that he will never act on his feelings for Hope, and maintains this long after Landon disappears.
In the fourth season, Hope visits Raf in the prison world he resides in with his parents, and consults him on her plans to defeat Malivore. He reassures her, telling her many of the lessons he learned from Landon and her, and the pair part ways on good terms.

Season 3[]
Klaus and Caroline share their first scene in 3x05. They don't interact until 3x11. Klaus makes her then boyfriend Tyler Lockwood bite her. He saves her in the end. She is shocked as she believed he came there to kill her. He tells her he would let her die if that was what she wanted. She tells him she wants to live and he cures her. He gives her a bracelet when she's asleep. In 3x14, Klaus invites her to the ball hosted by his family. He sents her a dress to wear. They share a dance and talk about their relationships with their fathers. He calls Caroline beautiful to which she rolls her eyes. He offers to show her the world and they both smile. She has a problem with his hybrid army which annoys him. Soon, he plans on leaving Mystic Falls and offers to take her with him. She declines. When Alaric, now a vampire, attacks her, Klaus comes to her rescue. She cries when Klaus is dead because it means her boyfriend will die too. She's not aware that Klaus jumped into Tyler's body. Caroline and "Tyler" kiss.

The Originals[]
They cross paths in France more than seven years later. They talk about his daughter, with whom he hasn't talked for years and who atttends Caroline's school. Caroline praises his daughter and tries to persuade Klaus to reconnect with her. Some time later, she informs him his daughter run off with a boy. Klaus and Caroline go on the road trip to try and find her. Upon learning of Hayley's death, she send him a letter with her condolences. She assures him she's a phone call away. She agrees to help his daughter get rid of the dark magic within her.
Klaus and Caroline see each other for the final time in the season 5 finale. She visits him in New Orleans. They spent his last day together. She kisses him and assures that she will never forget him. She leaves before he sees her get emotional.

This section is in need of major improvement. Please help improve this article by editing it. Klaroline is one of the most popular ships in the TVD universe. It's the most popular Caroline ship. It's also in top two most popular Klaus ships, the other being Klamille. Fans argue relentlessly about which ship is better. Fans favourize it over Steroline too.
Julie Plec added it in as a fan service. That resulted in mixed feelings within the fandom. Some see Julie Plec's intent as a definitive proof of the ship's canonicity. Many see it as a wasted potential as they two never actually dated. Still, the fandom treats Caroline more like a Mikaelson than they do a Salvatore.
The ship has its fair share of controversy. For starters, Caroline was just 18 when they first met. Klaus was over a 1000 at this point. He claimed to love her and saved her life twice, he endangered her life twice and kidnapped her to sacrifice her in the ritual. Carolien herself often worked behind his back to try and kill him. She was also involved with the cure which she hoped to use on him and then kill him. She was visibly disturbed by what he did to both Tyler and his mother.
Despite all of it, she always believed he could change. She urged him to fix his relationship with Hope. She helped him find Hope when she went missing.
On AO3, Klaroline is the most written ship within the The Vampire Diaries (TV) tag. There, it has 4,054 works.
