Tholl is the het ship between Thad and Doll from the Murder Drones fandom.
Canon[]
The two have no direct interaction, the only one being Doll checking on Thad after he had been tossed recklessly by V. The two are noticeably very different in means of personality. Thad is extroverted and optimistic, willing to accept everyone around him. Doll, in contrast, is stoic and serious and won’t hesitate to harm or even murder anyone who dare get in her way or cause her trouble. Additionally, she is depicted to be introverted, her only known friend being Lizzy, which activates the trope between extroverts and introverts with Thad and her.
A heavy aspect of their differing personalities are their treatment towards others. Thad is known to get along with individuals extremely easily, managing to become friends with Lizzy, a notorious bully, Uzi, an outcast, and N, a Murder Drone who is responsible for massacring majority of Thad’s kind. Doll enjoys making fun of others with Lizzy on her side, as seen when she giggles with Lizzy when the latter makes an offensive comment towards Uzi. Mainly because of her bearing of the AbsoluteSolver, she was witnessed murdering innocent teenage drones in “The Promening” despite her main target being V. She also seems or lack morality for the innocent drones she murders, as seen when she ruthlessly discards of prom queen candidates and has various drone parts to feast on in her kitchen. Nonetheless, there is a possibility that Thad would be friends with her regardless of these immoral acts.
A famous trope that is held in high school media is the relationship between jocks and cheerleaders, in whereas Thad is a jock and Doll is a cheerleader along with Lizzy. Though the trope is commonly used for romantic pairs, it applies to platonic relationships as well. Normally, the cheerleaders would be females with egotistical attitudes and tend to be the meanest, whereas the jock is no different but tends to be unintelligent in various ways and always seeking a female partner. Doll and Thad greatly rebel against this trope. Examples shows how Doll only picks on others with Lizzy and is generally quiet and mysterious as to not put herself in the spotlight; Thad is generous and outgoing, assuring everyone’s happiness and has not been expressed to seek constant romance. This fact alone brings an interesting and unique trait that differs from the original cheerleader and jock concept.
Fanon[]
The Tholl pairing is an extreme rare pair in the fandom due to their little to no interactions in the series. A drastically low number of fans ship the pairing romantically, with only eleven fan fictions being written in that view in AO3. The ship could possibly be inspired by Thalizzy, the ship between Thad and Lizzy. There are reasons why Tholl shippers find themselves locked into this ship; some may be fans of the Opposites Attract trope. Doll is easily described as quiet and merciless when it comes to her goals.
She's capable of making friends, but she often keeps to herself unless she holds trust for specific allies. Thad on the contrary is outgoing and always in the spotlight. He's kind, caring, and above the murder and destruction Doll indulges in. The Red Oni, Blue Oni trope plays a massive part in the relationship that can easily attract shippers. Some may claim they see Thad and Doll working as a couple.
Arguments can include Thad being the supporter in the relationship for Doll's tattered history affecting her current self.
