Thorou is a slash ship between Thoma and Gorou from the Genshin Impact fandom.
Canon[]
It is canon that these two have met before, with Gorou translating Taroumaru's words to Thoma in an official Genshin Impact post. With Gorou being half-shiba inu and Thoma loving animals, these two would make a rather cute and cuddly pair. But despite not have interacting as much as other ships, Thorou is loved for their different personalities. With Gorou being a stern general and Thoma being a light-hearted housewife. Their opposing personalities makes them have a special connection and the ability to support each other if ever choosing to love.
Both of them talk about Kujou Sara and Shikanoin Heizou in their voice lines. They also both have hangout events which is another thing they have in common. Gorou canonly like sweets and Thoma is really good at making treats. Thoma loves knitting sweaters for the local puppies, while Gorou is mainly seen with light clothing which suggests that he could be colder at times. During Gorou's hangout event, he mentions how he daydreams about someone else brushing his tail for him as for Thoma loves pampering others. These two connect well and would make a great pair.
These characters however, do not talk to each other in any quests and such. The most they've interacted in Genshin's media is through Thoma's character announcement. The caption suggesting that Gorou helps Thoma and others communicate with Taromaru and quickly relizing what he has told the Traveler. Stating how he thinks Thoma should take care of himself more and quickly getting flustered afterwards saying Taromaru told him to say that. Other then this there isn't much other conversations so to Hoyoverse these two have endless possibilities with each other.
Fanon[]
The two aren't very popular compared to other Genshin ships. With just over 50 fanfictions on Ao3. Some would head cannon them meeting but not necessarily talking about each other too much. Due to them not having voice lines about each other. Since Gorou is a busy soldier and Thoma is helping out the Kamisato Clan. They'd be busy to spend much time together yet can still meet. With Gorou translating Taromaru to the Traveler as they speak about Thoma. In Gorou's hangout event there is a scene where him and the Traveler to the teahouse where Thoma works from time-to-time.
Since there two haven't met in-game, people have started shipping them for their personalities and headcanons people have for them. Some may also ship them for Thoma loving animals and Gorou being half animal. That's the wonders of the Thorou ship. People can find so many possibilities for them that it could open many possibilities to fanart and fiction. Gorou and Thoma is one of those special ships where it could be in any sort of troupe and make sense!
