Thranto is the slash ship between Thrawn and Eli Vanto from the Star Wars fandom.

Eli is brought down to the planet when the Imperial command finds evidence of life, due to his knowledge of wildspace. Eli tells them stories of the Chiss, when Stormtroopers are attacked and their forced to retreat to the ship. However, the alien is revealed to have snuck onto the ship, and after being captured, Eli is taken to him to act as translator. The alien reveals himself to be a Chiss named Thrawn, who tells them how he'd been banished from his homeworld. Eli is ordered to continue his orders as translator, much to his confusion as he thought they were returning Thrawn to the planet. It turns out that the emperor wants him taken to coruscant to get a look at him.
On Coruscant, Thrawn speaks with the Emperor, who orders him to training. Thrawn requests that Eli stick by him so that he can continue to be his translator, which the Emperor allows. Once at the imperial academy, Eli warns Thrawn on all the things that could go wrong. Especially since Thrawn is an alien in a mostly human organization, and warns him to be careful. Thrawn instead works his way around the inherit hierarchy, continually surprising Eli with what he can do.

While Thranto isn't extremely popular ship in the overall Star Wars fandom, it is one of the most popular ships in the expanded canon. Shippers often cite Eli being Thrawn's only friend as one of the reasons that the ship is so big. Especially as it adds a weakness for enemies of Thrawn to exploit. Many fic writers will often have those in the Empire that disapprove of Thrawn go after Eli to get to him. Or use their relationship as a way to keep Thrawn in line.
Some fans will depict Eli being added to the Rebels seasons where Thrawn appeared. Incorporating him into the overall story of the show. Most fan fics and art depict the two reuniting after Thrawn's return to the system.
On AO3, Thranto is the most written ship for both Thrawn and Vanto. It is also the most written ship in the Star Wars: Thrawn Series - Timothy Zahn (2017) tag. There are currently 1500+ written works.
