Young Powder (Jinx) and Ekko sharing a quiet moment as kids, before being separated by upcoming tragic events

Ekko and Powder were childhood friends in Zaun and were the two youngest among Vi's group, who is Powder's older sister. As children Ekko and Powder were close, but after the death of the latter's adoptive father Vander, in part caused unintentionally by her own attempt to help, their journeys ended up going in very different directions. As fateful events push her sister Vi away from her, a lone and desperate Powder was taken in by Silco, a ruthless revolutionaire bent on freeing Zaun from Piltover by any means necessary.

As Powder grew up under Silco's wing, she started working for him and he eventually began seeing Powder as his daughter. However, Powder's isolation and inability to deal with the tragic memories of her past end up distorting her grasp on reality, and Silco's influence on her turns Powder into a ruthless, unstable killer. Meanwhile Ekko founded the Firelights, an underground group with the mission to keep safe the orphaned children of Zaun. The group also attempted to disrupt Silco's operations that might bring harm to the people of the undercity.

Note: Although not included in the show, a scene was initially planned to show Ekko attempting to rescue Powder from Silco as one of the Firelights' operations. However, after infiltrating Silco's lair, Powder would rebuke his help. She would slap him, while also telling him she was going under the moniker 'Jinx' now, before kicking him out. This scene was not included in favour of their flashback on the bridge during episode 7 of season 1.

While Jinx grew up in near isolation and tormented by her past, Ekko managed to form and lead the Firelights

While Jinx grew up in near isolation and tormented by her past, Ekko managed to form and lead the Firelights

Following the timeskip that happens in the show, the first time Jinx and Ekko meet each other on-screen is during one of Silco's shimmer smuggling missions. Jinx was guarding a shipment of shimmer essential for her surrogate father Silco, when Ekko and the Firelights attacked the ship, trying to destroy its contents. At that moment, Jinx appeared and killed many of Ekko's friends, making clear the enmity between them.

The next time they meet, Ekko and the Firelights attack Jinx directly while she's reuniting with her sister Vi, and they take both Vi and her partner Caitlyn with them. After interrogating Vi, Ekko learns that she is not working with Silco, but during a later heart-to-heart talk about Jinx, Ekko tells Vi that "Powder is gone" and that "all that is left of her is Jinx", emphasizing how the sweet girl Vi remembers her as is no more, and in her place is a violent and unstable woman. Vi disagrees completely, saying she knows her sister. In that moment, Ekko takes her to see a mural painted at the Firelights' shelter, with portraits of "everyone we've lost". Powder painted among them, symbolizing that Powder is lost for him now. He turns to Vi and tells her that Jinx is now working with Silco "not because she has to, but because she wants to".

Jinx and Ekko later meet at a landmark bridge following an attack there by Jinx. While an injured Caitlyn is carried to safety by Vi, Ekko stays behind to face Jinx. She scoffs, calling Ekko the "boy savior" in a mocking tone. However, Ekko simply chuckles and smiles at Jinx, just before he starts swinging his pocket watch in his hand. This reaction gets a surprised smile and a laugh out of Jinx, as she recognizes the meaning of the moment.

Ekko's fight with Jinx/Powder, initially in a somber mood, lightens up when he wordlessly invites her to a game they often played as kids.

Ekko's fight with Jinx/Powder, initially in a somber mood, lightens up when he wordlessly invites her to a game they often played as kids.

The meaning is explained right after in a flashback, it goes back to a game from their shared childhood where Ekko had to run and reach Jinx/Powder before she managed to hit him with a projectile from her paint gun. Should Ekko reach her without getting hit he'd win, and Powder would win if the opposite were to happen. Ekko swinging his watch in his hand is a wordless invitation towards Jinx for such a match, though this time with real weapons, which Jinx accepts. In their childhood memories Jinx used to be the winner, but Ekko remembers her shooting pattern and uses it to his advantage. When he starts the timer on his stopwatch signaling the start of the "match", Ekko nimbly dodges Jinx's shots while closing the distance between her and him.

Ekko's challenge to Jinx is a throwback to a game they used to play as children

Ekko's challenge to Jinx is a throwback to a game they used to play as children. In the game, Ekko needs to reach Powder before she tags him with her paint gun

This time the game ends with Ekko winning as he reaches Jinx and pins her down with a series of physical blows. However, when he's about to give her the finishing blow, he looks directly into Jinx's eyes and stops himself. Jinx's usual blue eyes are now a gray color, just like they were when she was Powder, causing Ekko to hesitate as he sees his old friend in her face. Ekko's expression, now filled with longing and hope, causes Jinx to stop struggling and return to him a seemingly sorrowful smile. This pushes her to pull the pin on one of her flame chomper grenades right next to them in a attempt to kill herself. Ekko quickly leaves while Jinx stays behind and takes the brunt of the blast.

Ekko pins Jinx down but freezes himself when he locks eyes with her, and both share a look of longing and nostalgia for their shared childhood.

Season 2[]

In episode 7 Ekko is transported to a parallel universe, where Powder never turned into Jinx. Powder is extremely close to Ekko off the bat as Ekko tries to understand what happened and where he is. His experience with Jinx from his universe makes him doubt the intentions of Powder in this alternate universe.

Ekko is confused at Powder's warm demeanour when he unintentionally travels to an alternate universe

Ekko is confused at Powder's warm demeanour when he unintentionally travels to an alternate universe

He suspects her at first, still believing her to be his main universe's Jinx, but eventually Ekko learns from another character who was also transported with him (Prof. Heimerdinger) that he is now in an alternate universe. Ekko also realizes he is living inside the body of this universe's Ekko. This journey comes as a shock to Ekko, as he walks around a much improved Zaun and Piltover he can't help but think of the universe he came from.

Ekko bonds with Powder, giving her a glimpse of her sister Vi as an adult and advising her to embrace her potential to change the world

With the goal of traveling back to his original universe, Ekko decides to enlist Powder's assistance in researching a way to do it, without revealing to her his intentions to leave, or his knowledge of the existence multiple universes. To help convince her Ekko paints a mural of her sister Vi at the secluded location that serves as the firelights' base back in the original dimension. This is due to Vi being dead in this alternate dimension from an explosion during a robbery the group had committed as kids, similar to the robbery on Jayce's apartment earlier in season 1. However, Ekko paints Vi as she was when he last saw her, and the portrayal of an older Vi this Powder never got to meet impresses her.

As Ekko speaks of both Vi and of Jinx herself (back in Ekko's main universe) the two bond. Powder admits to enjoying her simpler life as it is now, but Ekko shares with her his belief in her potential and how much she can change the world if she sets her mind to work, a trait he recognizes in Jinx. Ekko comforts Powder's fear of losing herself with the words "Sometimes taking a leap forward means leaving a few things behind and with this advice Powder agrees to help, along with allowing Ekko and Heimerdinger to use her lair as as a laboratory for their work.

Ekko, Powder and Heimerdinger work together and end up inventing the Zero-Drive (Z-Drive), a time traveling device that will be key in future events

Ekko, Powder and Heimerdinger work together and end up inventing the Zero-Drive (Z-Drive), a time traveling device that will be key in future events

In a montage of Ekko and Powder working together, there are several scenes of them staring at each other while the other works. Eventually they realize they just discovered time travel, though in a very limited fashion, as the device can only safely go back four seconds. By the end of their testing, Powder cleans Ekko's face as he sits down tired, telling him to get changed for the party that is to take place later that day.

Later on, as the party starts at the Last Drop, Ekko waits for Powder. As they lock eyes with each other, the two step forward and begin to dance, close and happy alongside each other. However, the song playing does not reference Ekko's relationship with this alternate universe Powder, but his relationship with Jinx herself in Ekko's original universe. Overall the song describes the romantic feelings Ekko and Jinx have for each other and addresses the themes of love, regret, heartbreak, longing, and the contrast between those same feelings and their mutual hate for each other that they have gained over the last seven years, ever since young Powder was taken in by Silco.

Ekko and Powder kiss later that night. However, Ekko knows he can't stay and so he isn't meant to stay with Powder from this alternate universe. Thus he gifts her a necklace with a blue rose.

After the dance, Ekko and Powder sit on the rooftop of a building, where Ekko speaks to Jinx herself through Powder. Ekko admits he had become so consumed by his skepticism that he had given up on Zaun (a.k.a the undercity), he had given up on Jinx herself. He shares with Powder his wish to stay in that moment, to which Powder repeats his own advice from earlier back to him. Ekko then tells her that he will never forget it. As Ekko and Powder get closer for a kiss, Ekko hesitates. Feeling embarrassed, Ekko asks Powder if they can pretend like it’s the first time.

Following their kiss, Ekko leaves momentarily, but not before gifting Powder with a spinning necklace with a blue rose, showing both of their side profiles in the pendant. Blue roses have several meanings, from symbolizing mystery and uniqueness to peace and self healing. However, blue roses do not happen naturally mean they are also seen as a symbol of an unattainable love, though they are also seen as a symbol of lasting love in the face of adversity, change and new beginnings.

As Ekko finds Heimerdinger in Powder's lair, with a finished device capable of sending him back to the original universe, Powder soon follows and meets him there. As she holds her version of Ekko in her arms, she gets an opportunity to see the main universe Ekko before he is teleported back to his universe. Powder keeps the blue rose pendant in a drawer, possibly implying she knew this Ekko wasn’t hers, but still loved him the same.

Some time after, and back at the main universe, tragedy pushes a heartbroken Jinx, completely void of any hope, to kill herself with one of her own bombs. Ekko shows up right on time and uses his device to rewind time back 4 seconds in order to save her. As soon as he does, he desperately attempts to talk his old enemy (who he now refers to as "old friend") out of ending her life. Initially unable to reach out to Jinx, Ekko witnesses as she keeps pulling the pin and blowing herself up, each time Ekko rewinding it and accumulating wounds from being so close to the bomb blast. Eventually Ekko sits down to rest, and he admits to Jinx his wish to talk her out of blowing them both up, but Jinx refuses to talk. She jumps off the platform she's at, instead of detonating her bomb to avoid "blowing both of them up". As Ekko yells out while she falls, he rewinds time yet again and attempts once more to reach out to her. He impresses upon Jinx that despite the dark past, it is still not too late to "build something new. Someone worth building it for". As the scene cuts, Jinx seems to be listening to his words and stops her attempts.

In Arcane's emotionally charged finale, Ekko reaches out to Jinx and desperately does all he can to convince her to stop her attempts to end her life.

As the final battle of the show rages on, Ekko and Jinx show up together in Jinx's air balloon/blimp, repurposed from her own lair. Ekko jumps out of her blimp, covered in her signature glowing paint, as well as having a matching pink 'X' on their chests together. During the battle, when Jinx is getting attacked by a mind controlled Vander/Warwick, Ekko intercedes, alongside Vi, to help protect her.

Ekko and Jinx show up to help in the final battle, both displaying paint marks (in Jinx's usual style) on their bodies and their new outfits.

After the final battle a sorrowful Ekko mourns the loss of Jinx/Powder, unaware she may have survived.

After the final battle a sorrowful Ekko mourns the loss of Jinx/Powder, unaware she may have survived.

When the battle (and war) eventually ends and Jinx is presumed to be dead, the funeral rites take place by burning stacks of small papers, each with a single name. Ekko is seen sitting alone on the same rooftop he kissed Jinx/Powder in the alternate reality. He stares at the place she sat and with a forlorn expression he lights on fire a piece of paper with Jinx/Powder's name on it, watching it as it floats into the sky.

Note: It is currently unknown whether Jinx has survived or not, though if she did it is heavily suggested that nobody is aware of it. Current clues that she may have survived are mostly given to the audience, though one character (Caitlyn) is suggested to suspect of Jinx being alive.

Arcane Official Artbook[]

The show was accompanied by the release of an official artbook. The book is mentioned to be from Jinx's perspective by Greg Ghielmetti, the book's print designer and a Riot employee. He declared on social media the doodles are to be interpreted as if Jinx herself had edited the book after it was drafted. In the book Jinx makes several references to her feelings for Ekko, using hearts and words such as "cute", "dork", “Smart”, "best boy" and "Score". Moreover, she marks another of Ekko's concept art with a crown. She also writes "Will you dance with me?" next to AU Ekko, with little scribbles calling him smart.

There is also an illustration of Jinx and Ekko holding their hands. Jinx seems to be wearing his jacket from the firelights. She refers to him as "best boy" on the spread, doodles "That's me!" to highlight herself, and draws several pink highlights around their hands holding. A pink heart can also be seen right next to Ekko. He is also tagged with Jinx's name, written in pink on his right arm. There are also several hearts over Ekko's other concept art images and other allusions to her and Ekko.

The firelight edition of the Arcane artbook has a couple extra doodles on the cover dedicated to the firelights themselves and Ekko, with more hearts from Jinx and more references to him as "Boy Savior", "cute" and "dork".

League of Legends[]

In League of Legends, Ekko has a couple voice lines specifically for Jinx, the most relevant being his taunt towards Jinx. Ekko admits that he had a crush on her until she started talking to the gun (Jinx in the game uses both her minigun and her rocket launcher as seen in Arcane before Jinx's fight with her sister, when they're destroyed).

If playing with Jinx's Fractured Arcane skin activated (where she is dressed in her outfit from the last episode of Arcane) there are multiple voicelines directed at Ekko. These voice lines have several references across both the main universe of Arcane and the alternate one explored in episode 7 of season 2.

Jinx Fixes Everything[]

A mini game released within the League of Legends client, "Jinx Fixes Everything" fills some gaps in the plot of Arcane, separated into 3 separate acts similar to the plot of the show. In the game, the player controls Jinx as she repairs several items she uses in the show or are important to her.

Act 3 of Jinx Fixes Everything shows Jinx visited the Firelights' home after Ekko reached out to her

Act 3 of Jinx Fixes Everything shows Jinx visited the Firelights' home after Ekko reached out to her

In Act 3 of the game Jinx works to repair her guns in preparation for the final battle, a process that takes place in the Firelights' treehouse. It is hinted that Ekko took Jinx there after persuading her to stop her attempts to end her life. As Jinx walks around the area and gathers the parts to create her new weapon Rhyno, the player can interact with objects around Ekko's place and have Jinx comment on his life and friends. If the player interacts with Ekko's weapon, Jinx's usual joking tone becomes serious and she alludes to her possible feelings for Ekko:

"That night on the bridge, I'll never forget that look in your eyes".

This is a reference to Jinx's encounter with Ekko during their fight on the bridge in S01E07, where Ekko pinned her down but couldn't bring himself to give her a final blow, triggering the moment when they look longingly in each other's eyes.

Legends of Runeterra[]

Ekko has a voice line when Jinx is summoned onto the field as an ally, commenting that he misses her so much. And another one if she's summoned as an enemy where he will comment, "Powder I...never mind" in a somewhat anguished tone.

Fanon[]

Timebomb is the most written het ship, third most written ship in Arcane: League of Legends fandom on AO3. It's both Jinx and Ekko's most written ship too.

League of Legends[]

The ship is fairly popular in the League of Legends fandom due to the fact that in the game, Ekko admits he used to have a crush on Powder, before she lost her sanity, changed her name to Jinx, and started "talking to her guns". There is also a voice line in Legends of Runeterra where if Ekko and Jinx are summoned together as allies, Ekko will remark on how he "misses her so much".

Arcane[]

Following the first season of Arcane (2021) Timebomb grew outside of League of Legends and the gaming community and into the general audience who watched the show. Young Powder and Ekko are shown sharing small moments together during Act 1. The companion music video to the show (for the song "Enemy" by Imagine Dragons) expands further on their relationship, showing how close Powder and Ekko were as children. Being of similar age and considerably younger than the remaining members of "Vi's gang", their bond is suggested to have been special to both, as best friends see each other. However, Jinx and Ekko only share one scene in season 1 after the separation that followed the tragedy of episode 3 of season 1.

That scene is their popular duel at the Piltover-Zaun bridge where a determined Ekko stops Jinx, now his enemy for several years, from obtaining an important gemstone. The duel between them that follows is widely considered by fans to be one of the best scenes in the whole show. The flashback shows the audience the happy childhood Jinx and Ekko shared, and how much it contrasts with their enmity at that moment.

The most emotionally charged moment regarding Timebomb in season 1 takes place at the end of this duel, when Ekko pins Jinx to the ground but can't bring himself to finish her, instead locking eyes with her as the frown on his face is replaced with nostalgia and hope. Jinx returns a similarly nostalgic expression to Ekko, right before deciding to end her life following that moment. Despite the popularity of this scene the lack of any positive interactions between adult Jinx and Ekko in the entire season 1 meant the ship was bound to remain non-canonical at this point.

However, in season 2, Timebomb had a bigger part to play and so received more attention from the fans as Ekko travels to an alternate universe and meets a version of Powder/Jinx that did not face the tragedies Jinx went through in the main universe, and thus did not grow up while suffering from past traumas. As Ekko spends time in that alternate universe with her, he gets to know who Powder is without her past tormenting her or Silco's conditioning. This experience is the catalyst that breathes new life to Ekko's feelings for Powder, and he later admits to her (and himself) that he had given up on both Jinx and the Undercity where he was born, thanking her for that realization.

The romantic interactions between Ekko and the alternate version of Powder canonize the relationship in the alternate universe. However, with Ekko's desire to leave the alternate universe and rejoin his own, his relationship with alternate universe Powder is impossible to develop beyond this experience.

Another aspect that adds to Jinx and Ekko's relationship and its popularity, this time in the main universe, is that Ekko is the one who ultimately succeeds at preventing Jinx/Powder from ending her life. Jinx's hope for the future had reached a new low following the death of Isha, a young child she had taken in and taken care of since the beginning of the new season. Ekko's desperate attempts and ultimate success at saving Jinx (who he now calls his "old friend") show the impact that his experience in the alternate universe had on Ekko's demeanor towards Jinx.

Jinx and Ekko are shown later in the episode joining the final battle, riding on Jinx's airship. They are also shown fighting alongside each other and both have paint marks resembling of Jinx's usual eccentric style painted on their bodies and their new outfits. They are also accompanied by the rest of Ekko's Firelights and the remainder of the people of Zaun. The period in between both scenes is not shown in Arcane, so it has been target of intense fan speculation regarding what happened. Many fan theories appeared regarding:

  • How the conversation between Ekko and Jinx went after Ekko successfully caught Jinx's attention.
  • How their preparations for the final battle went.
  • What led to Jinx and Ekko painting their clothes and themselves.
  • How they rallied the Firelights and the citizens of the Undercity to join them in assisting Piltover

These theories have also opened up fans' hopes of a romance between Ekko and Jinx. Many fanarts and fanfictions have been created, many addressing/reimagining their somber ending in the show, with Jinx assumed alive but leaving Piltover/Zaun, and Ekko (assumingly) believing her to be dead and mourning her during the funeral ceremony.

Recent rumors from the showrunners regarding their intent to develop new projects, some as "continuations of character stories from Arcane", alongside other statements that they find worth "(...) continuing their [Jinx and Ekko's] story (...)", all have contributed to fueling fan hopes that Jinx and Ekko's story may not be over yet, that it may hopefully continue in the future.

Some fans have also compared Timebomb ship with GhostFlower, due to the similarities they shared during Episode 7.

As of the release of Ma Meilleure Ennemie's music video, Jinx and Ekko (in the main universe)'s mutual feelings for each other have been confirmed as throughout the music video, both Ekko and Jinx sing Stromae and Pomme's lyrics themselves. The music video centers around the painful yet unbreakable bond the two share as Jinx constantly fears getting close to Ekko while Ekko refuses to give up on her again.

This ship has seen a large increase in the amount of artworks following act 3 of season 2 of Arcane, alongside fan comics, and fanfiction. As of February 2025 the "Jinx/Ekko" tag has 5,300+ works on AO3, where they are either the main ship or heavily featured.

Trivia[]

  • Their ship name is a reference to Ekko's time manipulation abilities & Jinx's explosives,
  • Ekko and Jinx are both present in the cinematic 'Tales of Runeterra: Piltover'. Ekko uses the Hextech battery core Jinx stole to make a one-wheeled propulsion skateboard capable of flight.
  • Since Arcane's premier there have been various LoL marketing/promotional campaigns that feature Ekko & Jinx together both for the show and other avenues of the League of Legends IP.
  • Riot music showed the two together in the Music AU where they attended the Grammy's and the Billboard music awards.
  • During the 2022 Summer Star Guardian event, the Official League of Legends Brazil Twitter account hosted a 1 day event where Star Guardian Jinx and Ekko took over (hacked) the account for their own AMA. The Brazilian voice actors for the character released a audio intro and outro playing as them complete with back and forth banter which continued during the entire AMA.
  • A dev diary video for Riot's upcoming League of Legends fighting game currently codenamed "Project L" showed updated gameplay in a vertical slice demo, that started with and heavily featured both Ekko and Jinx mimicking their duel from the bridge seen in Arcane and also being each others assist's during their matches. The game is also referenced nowadays as "2XKO".
  • During the final battle, when Ekko and Jinx joined with several marks painted on their outfits and bodies, Ekko's hourglass insignia can be seen on Jinx's right arm, along with a crown over it. This trend has extended into other merchandise and "behind the scenes" content.
  • In a Promotional artwork for the "Riot x Arcane" event, after Ekko's reveal in the show, one of Ekko's cuffs on his dreadlocks has the "X" insignia from one of Jinx's trademark calling cards. Those usually have the words, "X WUZ HERE" underneath it.
  • The Runeterra Reforged Launch Cinematic for Teamfight Tactics featured both, Jinx (her Arcane Version) & Ekko (his LoL MOBA version) riding together on one of her rockets and teaming up at the end to fight another character from League of Legends, Cho'Gath.
  • It was revealed that Ekko never saw Jinx as a jinx/curse specifically, and that he trusted only her to never break his inventions as kids.
  • In Arcane season 2 posters, Ekko's poster shows one of his hair accessories to have Jinx's monkey doodle on them.
  • In the alternate universe, Powder and Ekko both drew doodles of each other in their notes.
    • AU Ekko and Powder have numerous paintings and drawing of each other in her base too.
  • During the final battle in season 2, the hairband in Ekko's hair matches Jinx's shimmered eye color.
  • Ekko's ears in Arcane aren’t pierced until the very last episode of the show. However, in the alternate universe, they are pierced from the moment Ekko arrives there. In the main universe Ekko is first shown with his ear pierced when he joins the final battle with Jinx. Fans speculate Ekko may have pierced in homage to his own version from the alternate universe and the time he spent there with AU Powder.
  • Their song, "Ma Meilleure Ennemie" (Stromae & Pomme) when first released passed 7 million streams and landed #3 on Spotify global, setting a record as the most listened French language song in 24 hours.
    • The song has melancholic and wistful lyrics, presumably describing main universe's Ekko (and Jinx) feeling for each other, with extracts such as: "You're the best thing to ever happen to me but also the worst thing to ever happen to me"; "You know what they say, keep your friends close, but your enemies even closer"; "I love you, I hate you"; "Why does hearing your name hurt me when it hides right there in the vicinity?"
  • In the art book, Jinx describes the Firelights with, “Trust, Protect, friendship, love, home, remember, safety.” This is likely thanks to the time she spent among them in their hideout as shown in chapter 3 of the LoL tie in mini-game "Jinx Fixes Everything", which takes place shortly after Ekko saved her from herself at the start of 209.
  • Jinx isn't shown in Arcane to ever have negative hallucinations of Ekko.
    • However, fans speculate Jinx may have had some hallucinations of Ekko. When Ekko reaches out to Powder/Jinx, she first dismisses him but soon takes him much more seriously as Ekko begins to elaborate on his desire to stop her from ending her life.
    • Fans also speculate Jinx may have eventually thrown herself off the platform, instead of detonating her bomb, to prevent Ekko from being injured.
  • In the artbook is a reference for the fight between Jinx and Ekko, at the bridge. In the book is a doodle "Jinx VS Ekko", with the word "punch" doodle beside it. A broken heart is drawn to the side of this doodle. Fans speculate this may imply their fight on the bridge broke Jinx's heart.
    • This got further attention when fans noticed there was a discrepancy between the way Ekko imagined the upcoming duel, with Jinx gleefully smiling while shooting, and the way it ended up going, with Jinx shooting at Ekko with a frustrated grimace. This led to the fan theory Jinx didn't want to fight Ekko.
  • After their fight, there's some notable differences of Jinx's body when Silco found her and in Ekko's flashback on Episode 7. In the season 1 scene Jinx had less dirt on her face, her bangs were swept away from her face, and was in a different position after the fight. Meanwhile, Ekko's flashback in season 2 showed her dirty face and in a different position. This led to the fan theory Ekko checked on Jinx after the duel or even tried to rescue her. However, this theory was discredited when one fan investigated each shot and concluded both scenes simply had continuity errors.
  • The official Twitter account of the show posted a video in which the making of the bridge fight scene is depicted, showing the caption "I love you" under Ekko and Jinx's faces.
  • Ekko's Firelight mask represents/is designed as an owl. Jinx herself is represented as a crow. Both birds are popular for generally being monogamous and forming strong bonds with their partners that last for life.
  • During their fight, Ekko imagines Jinx to enjoy shooting at him, when the reality has her looking serious/distressed.
  • On May 19th 2025, fans celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the first fanart of the pairing, which also saw the first time the ship name is used, by redrawing the original art in their own style.
  • In an interview, the creators talked about Jinx's feelings for Ekko and how similar they are with those of Powder's, pointing out they are the exact same person, just grew in different circumstances.
    • In the same interview, they are confirmed as soulmates.
  • On August 6th, 2025, Riot Games posted their July Highlights, which features a Timebomb fanart. This makes it the 3rd time Timebomb fan art has been featured in Riot’s 2025 highlights as the 1st & 2nd occurred in February and March respectively the same year.
