Tineleif is the het ship between Leif and Tine from the Fire Emblem fandom.
Canon[]
Leif and Tine are two playable characters of the second half of Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War.
Leif is the son of Ethlyn (Sigurd's sister and daughter of the duke of Chalphy) and Quan (the heir of the Leonster's throne); Tine is the daughter of Tailtu (the daughter of the duke Friedge) and of an other member of Sigurd's army. Leif and Tine's parents fought together in Sigurd's army. The prince of the kingdom of Grannvale Kurth was murdered by Lombard (duke of Dozel) and Reptor (duke of Friedge and Tailtu's father) and Sigurd and his father are accused of being behind Kurth assasination. Branded as traitors Sigurd and his army are forced to flee and to take refuge in the kingdom of Silesse. Ethlyn, Quan and their knight Finn (who can optionally be Tailtu's husband and Tine's father) return to the kingdom of Leonster in order to bring back reinforcements. Sigurd and his allies return in Grannvale to clean his name, they fight the army of the kingdom including Lombard and Reptor who die in the fight. On the same time the Munster District (whom the kingdom of Leonster is a part of) was attacked by the kingdom of Thracia. Ethlyn and Quan let their son Leif (who was born some time after their return in Leonster) under the care of the knight Finn. They attempt to cross the Aed dessert to reunite with Sigurd but they are killed by Travant the king of Thracia before reaching their allies. After defeating his enemies Sigurd is betrayed by Arvis who kill him alongside most members of his army. Tailtu escape and take refuge in Silesse where she raise her son Arthur and give birth to a second child Tine. When Tine was still an infant Bloom (Tailtu's brother and the new lord of Friedge) Bloom arrives in Silesse and forcibly took both her and Tailtiu, bringing them back to Ulster in the Munster District who was invaded by Grannvale and placed under Bloom's controle. Hilda (Bloom's wife) abused her sister-in-law to the point that she died when Tine still young. On the same time Leif ( who escaped the fall of Leonster) hid in various cities of the Munster District during his childhood because the Grannvale Empire was after him.
Sixteen years after Sigurd's death, Leif takes the arms to fight the empire. On the same time Seliph (Sigurd's son) started a rebellion at Isaac where he grown up. After freeing Isaac Seliph and his army fought to liberate the Munster District and to help his cousin Leif who was defending the Leonster calste he had conquered. When Seliph army conquered Melgen, Bloom sent his niece Tine alongside some troops to stop them. Tine's brother Arthur who had joined Seliph's army convice his sister to join them. Reuniting with her brother reminded to Tine how Hilda tortured and killed her mother why Bloom did nothing. Seliph's army finally reach Leif and his allies, the two army merged together. If Tine and Leif reach 500 love points together they will marry.
Seliph's army finally kill Bloom. They continue their advance and fianlly reach Grannvale. In the final chapter if Tine and Leif are lovers they will have a special conversation.

Tineleif is a rare pairing in the Fire Emblem fandom. Even by the standards of game never released outside Japan it has a low popularity. One of the main reason for the lack of popularity is that Tine and Leif's only interaction in the original game only happen in the final chapter if Tine and Leif are married, most players never saw this conversation. An other reason is that Tineleif is overshadowed by Naneif who is canon in Thracia 776 . A part of the fandom assumes that Thracia 776 take place in a timeline that is not necessarily the same than Genealogy of the Holy War. The fact that Tine don't appears in Thracia 776 were Leif is the main character also diservesed the popularity of Tineleif since people who want an alternative to Nanneif prefers in general to pair Leif with a character that interact with him in this game such as Mareeta or Miranda. The main other rival pairings are Leif/Jeanne, Ced/Tine and Seliph/Tine.
A small part of the Fire Emblem fandom shippe them. The fact that they have a special conversation if they are married made them what the community call a "predestined pairing". The pairing is liked because Leif marry the niece the niece of his enemy Bloom and the fact that Tine and Leif will work to restore the peace and help the people of Leonster who soffered because of the Friedge house. Their lover conversation is considered as sweet and interesting because Tine and Leif talk about the fact that they will work to help the people of Thracia.
