- But being able to declare what you love and do it with your whole face. Well, that smile of yours is so perfect that I'm honestly jealous! You hear me? And I don't wanna pretend I never saw your amazing smile!
- —Ochako expresses her feelings to Himiko, Chapter 393.
Togachako is the femslash ship between Ochako Uraraka and Himiko Toga from the My Hero Academia fandom.
Canon[]
Ochako and Himiko's first interactions are rather hostile, due to being on opposite sides. Both have confirmed to have feelings for Izuku Midoriya, which makes them appear to be foils. Himiko has admitted that she loves Ochako in the same way as Izuku and wishes to be her. On Ochako's side, she is intrigued by Himiko and doesn't often know how to feel about her.
They contrast a bit physically; Ochako is brunette, Himiko is blonde; Ochako has round eyes, Himiko's are sharp; Ochako's hair is neat and straight, Himiko's hair is messy and spiky; Ochako's perpetual blush stickers are cute and innocent while Himiko's perpetual luminescent blush alludes to her blood lust.
While Ochako has noted that Izuku is a little "plain-looking", her feelings for him are healthy and she loves his desire to save people, unwillingness to ever give up, and resourcefulness in every situation- and she wants to be like him. Himiko, on the other hand, thinks Izuku is cute and her feelings are mostly twisted, as she loves that he's always getting himself bloodied up and she wants to literally kill him and be him.
Ochako is relatively slow, but she's strong and durable for her size and she's a bare fisted monk who can tank a few strong hits and relies on restraining opponents. She also can easily end most fights by touching her opponents only once to make them float helplessly. Himiko meanwhile is very fast and agile, but she's a weak knife nut who would rather dodge her opponents than take a hit, and she aims to kill when she fights. She has little one hit KO potential outside of stealth and usually has to cut her opponents up a lot before she wins. Finally, Ochako's new grappling hooks nicely mirror Himiko's needle hooks, and they even trade blows with them in their second fight
Himiko first encounters Ochako while fighting her and Tsuyu Asui. Upon meeting her, Himiko proclaims that she is cute and lovely. Himiko says that Ochako has the same scent as her. Ochako uses her martial arts and apprehends Himiko. After being subdued by Ochako, Himiko says that they are in love with someone. Himiko tells Ochako that she knows how she feels because they are girls; Himiko begins talking about people who are in love strive to be like the ones they love. Himiko's talking enrages Ochako. Himiko notes that love stories are fun and uses her machine to stab Ochako's leg, who was unable to stop her due to being caught off guard with Himiko's talking. Himiko begins draining Ochako's blood. Suddenly, the Bakugou Escort Team arrives and sees Ochako. Himiko stops draining Ochako's blood and pushes Uraraka aside, not wanting to engage a large group of enemies and not wanting to die. After that, Himiko confesses to the rest of the Vanguard Action Squad that she made a friend.
During the Provisional Hero License Exam, Himiko disguised herself as Camie Utsushimi so that she could infiltrate during the Exam and confront Izuku. When she's at a safe distance, she used some of the blood that she stole from Ochako at the Forest Camp and realizes that Izuku really trusts Ochako.
In the Shie Hassaikai arc Himiko uses the blood she had gotten from Izuku during the Hero License exam to transform and trick the heroes into going to Overhaul's location. As she is transformed into Izuku she talks to Ochako and guides her to the battle location. Ochako not realizing that it was actually Himiko. Ochako later comments how it was strange because the real Izuku said he had been fighting Overhaul at the time.
Before the League of Villains battle against the Meta Liberation Army, The League attempts to defeat Gigantomachia for over a month. As Tomura Shigaraki and other Villains take on the giant, Himiko is out of turn with Spinner and, while wearing a jacket that she bought with the little funds she received from the doctor (Daruma Ujiko), Himiko tells Spinner that she loves how cute are the jackets that she often wears, then confesses that she loves Stain, Izuku, and including Ochako and that all she wanted was to become the things that she loved.
While traveling to Deika City with the League of Villains for the battle against the Meta Liberation Army, Himiko is attacked by landmines planted by "Curious," a prominent member of the Meta Liberation Army, with her quirk "Landmine." Chitose Kizuki (Curious) threatens Himiko, saying that if she doesn't participate in her "interview," her life won't be long, but Himiko rejects the threats and continues attacking the woman; however, Himiko is caught by one of Chitose's allies, which electrifies her. Himiko tries to flee but is caught again by Curious and her allies, and Chitose says that she was an unfortunate girl, causing Himiko to become enraged and then flee by disguising herself as Ochako while telling herself that it was supposed that everyone had to smile when they were happy, as well as when you kiss people they like. Himiko then says she drinks the blood of those she likes, and she's happy with that. Curious is so moved by Himiko's quirk that she wants to cry. Himiko then says that she only had a portion of blood and points out that Ochako trusted Izuku so much that he does the same to her, and Himiko says that she just wanted to be near the person she loved. Before getting attacked by Curious, Himiko suddenly realized that she could use Ochako's quirk (Zero Gravity), and does so to kill Curious and her allies.
In the Paranormal Liberation War, Himiko is thinking about Twice's death and wonders where the heroes draw the line. She expresses how she wants to ask Izuku and Ochako this when she sees them again. Soon, she gets to see Ochako and so she fights with her while talking about how happy she was to see Ochako. She then tells Ochako that she used her blood to transform as her and also used her quirk for killing Curious before, and about how much she liked Izuku. Ochako gets mad at this, saying that she didn't have to use her quirk for bad things, and how she wanted to be a hero that wanted to save other people. Himiko then takes something from Ochako, who then tells Himiko to return when she activated her quirk. After dealing with Himiko, Himiko said that she was holding back all the time since she was young, Ochako then replies that she would make Himiko take responsibility for her acts. Himiko then affirms Ochako's words and then leaves the place, thanking Ochako for the answer. Ochako then points out that she could notice that Himiko was crying and seemed worried about it.
After the War, when civilians are against Deku entering the U.A., Ochako is forced to give a speech to help him and while she was giving her speech to the civilians she hesitates after saying "So that tomorrow, we can all smile together" because she remembers Himiko crying. While on the side of Himiko, she was still devastated by Twice's death and Ochako's words, as she was seen sad several times and it took several days to fix her thoughts before returning to the rest of the Villains. Due to this, she no longer focuses on Ochako, and later on Midoriya after he answers the question Himiko has asked Ochako in their second encounter. It is shown that Himiko may no longer harbor feelings for Ochako.
When Himiko leaves I-Island in the middle of their fight, Ochako pulls herself and Tsuyu along with her, saying "we still haven't talked about love," to which Himiko replies: "how great would it be if we could". Himiko continues her rampage, using Twice's quirk to make a Sad Man's Parade of her clones, saying that all heroes should die. She stabs Ochako in the stomach, but even then Ochako keeps trying to reach Himiko and talk to her peaceful. Ochako expresses her thoughts about Himiko, how she felt watching her smile and tears. She explains that while she doesn't condone the crimes Himiko has done, she still believes in Himiko, and that if Himiko is willing to listen, she is ready to give her blood until the end of her life. Ochako says that Himiko has a beautiful smile, so she should never hide her feelings or her face. Moved by her determination and words, Himiko finally opens up with her own feelings. She says that she falls in love easily, but she knew that other people would never accept that love, and that seeing other people smile made her jealous. Ochako says that she also really admires people who try their best even when they're hurting, and that she knows she'll never replace the League of Villains in Himiko's heart, but wanted to tell Himiko about her feelings. The two fall down from the sky, and Ochako hugs a naked Himiko close while the Twice clones vanish. Himiko asks if Ochako really thinks she's cute, and she answers "the cutest in the world"
After landing down to the ground, Ochako appears to be exhausted from both overusing her Quirk and the injury Himiko caused. Seeing this, Himiko decides she will give all of her blood to Ochako as proof for her genuine feelings. She transforms into Ochako, then uses her syringe to transfer blood. She lays down beside Ochako and starts talking again. Himiko apologizes for stabbing and yelling at her, and thanks Ochako for reaching out to her, saying that Ochako made her truly genuinely happy. Ochako cries out Himiko's name, and Himiko replies with a smile, embracing Ochako.
After Himiko's death Ochako soon goes back to UA, she is found to consistently be quiet. Described as her mind being elsewhere.
Soon after Ochako is found breaking down by Izuku, holding the wound Himiko had given to her during their battle. Saying how her wound still hurts, meaning her mental wound. she opens up to Izuku while breaking down, saying how she feels Himiko's death was her fault and that if she had not have been stabbed then Himiko would have lived. Ochako wonders if the situation would have changed if they had met earlier. Her classmates help console her, though this is shown to still not ease the pain in her heart.
8 years pass and Ochako is shown to have become a successful pro hero, she has adapted the Quirk Counselling Expansion Project. Ochako's experience with Himiko being her main motivation for this project. The project is shown to be extremely successful and has even started being adapted to different countries.
Ochako has been shown to be consistently dreaming of Himiko, although she doesn't remember what has happened in these dreams. She has even visited a doctor, though the doctor said that it is most likely stress. When she talks to Tsuyu she says that Himiko may be trying to tell her something and that they may be connected because of the blood Himiko gave to Ochako. Class 1A later have a reunion party and after the party Izuku goes after Ochako, this is when Ochako remembers her dream with Himiko, Himiko had referred to Ochako as ''My beloved Ochako'' and told her to not worry about her that she got to live and love freely and that since she loves Ochako so much, she wants Ochako to do the same. Himiko's ghost then pushes Ochako, allowing Ochako to begin healing and love once again.

The ship between Toga and Ochako is popular in both the Eastern and Western fandoms, largely due to the creator confirming Toga's feelings for Ochako. It often rivals IzuOcha for Ochako and TogaDeku for Toga.
After chapter 393, its popularity spiked. Fans appreciated the character development but were deeply saddened that the ship's peak marked its final appearance in canon. Chapter 430 provided another boost when it revealed Ochako's efforts to expand a quirk counseling program, which many interpreted as her desire to help people like Toga, whose quirks are often seen as destructive or abnormal. Despite its appeal, the ship remains controversial, particularly in the Western fandom, due to Toga being a villain and Ochako a hero, as well as Toga’s skewed understanding of love. Some fans focus on the ambiguity of Ochako's sexuality, while others see the ship as toxic or unrealistic.
On AO3, Togachako is the most written ship for Toga and the most written femslash ship for Ochako. Many fanworks explore AUs where Toga survives, Ochako redeems her, or Ochako turns into a villain. On Pixiv, Togachako is the most uploaded femslash ship for both Toga and Ochako. In the 2024 Femslash Top 100, Togachako ranked 63rd, making it the third most written femslash ship under the Boku No Hero Academia tag.
Songs[]
On February 25, 2021, a fan made song written about Toga Himiko was created by Madds Buckley. The song has been used for various other fandoms (i.e. Alien Stage, The Summer Hikaru Died, Dead Plate, etc.) but was written specifically about Toga. It is in the perspective of Toga, singing about a loved one. The original song does not clarify any particular ship or character that it may or may not be about. On October 15, 2024, however, Madds Buckley created a short singing the song in a slow, melancholic manner. The short shows a clip from Season 7, Episode 21, of the aftermath of Toga and Ochako's fight when Toga sacrifices herself to save Ochako's life. In front of the clip, Toga's name is written in red and Ochako's in pink. The title of the short is "(yes I wrote the OG) THE CUTEST GIRL IN THE WHOLE WORD 😭😭". The short got over 83k+ views on YouTube.
