TokoJirou is the het ship between Fumikage Tokoyami and Kyoka Jiro from the My Hero Academia fandom.
Canon[]
Fumikage and Kyoka are classmates at U.A. High School. Although they are not known to share very many one-on-one interactions with each other, they are often seen participating in class activities together.
Their first notable interaction is during the School Festival arc. Class A decides to put together a band for the festival, in an attempt to bring joy to the other UA students. Kyoka is put in charge of the band, as the lead singer and resident music expert. Fumikage joins the band as a guitar player. The two of them, alongside other band members Katsuki Bakugou, Momo Yaoyorozu, and Denki Kaminari were seen practicing together often in the lead up to the Festival.
During the Paranormal Liberation War, Kyoka watches on as Fumikage and Denki charge the front lines of the Gunga Villa. She says that she has faith in Fumikage's abilities and that she isn't worried about him being able to handle himself against the villains. After the war, Kyoka seems to sit in on both Denki and Fumikage in the hospital, as she is the one to tell the others that both boys are being discharged.
Fumikage and Kyoka are teamed together during the Final War. They are sent to fight against All For One, and when they see Keigo Takami in danger, Fumikage uses his Dark Fallen Angel move to fly him and Kyoka into the sky. Keigo tries to send the students away, but they tell him that they want to fight. All For One decides to target Kyoka, sending her flying off of Fumikage. He and Hawks manage to keep her afloat, and Fumikage catches her. All For One attacks again, this time severely injuring Kyoka by cutting off one of her earphone jacks. Fumikage is shown worrying for her, but the injury just gives Kyoka more drive to fight against All For One. She jumps into the air, and tells Fumikage to catch her after he's done laying in on the villain. Fumikage is later seen holding Kyoka in a bridal carry, before Hawks finally sends them away from the battle for good.
Fumikage and Kyoka continue to fight together, moving to a different battlefield.
Fanon[]
TokoJirou is a rarepair in the fandom. Both characters have much more popular ships; Kyoka with KamiJirou and MomoJirou, and Fumikage with TokoShoji. Additionally, both characters are often portrayed as being queer and are more likely to be written in femslash and slash pairings than they are het ones.
Still, there is a small number of fans for this ship. Viewers were drawn to it thanks to their team up during the Final War arc, and the way that Fumikage was shown to care for Kyoka. Others enjoy the fact that the two characters were in the Class A band together, and use their mutual love and talent for music as a means of pairing them together. This is especially popular in "modern" AUs. Fumikage and Kyoka also both have very similar styles, with Fumikage known to wear more "goth" clothing and Kyoka representing a punk style.
There are currently over 25 works for this ship on AO3. It is more popular as a platonic pairing, with over 60 works.
