TomoNana is the het ship between Tomoe and Nanami Momozono from the Kamisama Kiss fandom.

Canon[]

Season One[]

In the present, Tomoe and Nanami meet after the latter becomes the land god at the shrine that Tomoe's previous master abandoned. As they live together, Nanami quickly becomes infatuated and falls in love with Tomoe.

Upon realizing her feelings, she takes him out on some outings in hopes of growing closer with him. On the rooftop, Nanami confesses her feelings to Tomoe. In a shock, Tomoe drops Nanami off the rooftop. Immediately, he dives after her, but she tells him not to touch her rendering him incapable of doing so. Nanami acquiesces under the oath that he'll not touch her ever again, and he saves her life.

From there, they meet a water god who Tomoe stole an eye from centuries ago. In order to save Tomoe from being killed, Nanami goes on a mission to rescue him by going back in time and retrieving his eye. There, she sees him with a woman named "Yukiji" who Tomoe is fond of and desperate to save using the eye. Despite her jealousy, and desire to save Tomoe, Nanami chooses her principles and saves the dying woman by feeding her the spirit's eye. Mizuki and Nanami then continue their journey to rescue Tomoe.

After rescuing Tomoe, they go back to living together but Tomoe has begun going back to lacking personal space around Nanami. When she goes out with her friends to meet some boys, Tomoe exhibits some jealousy and protectiveness over Nanami. She finds herself getting her hopes up and questions whether she was 'irritated' (i.e. jealous), which he admits that he did.

Nanami takes Tomoe to a fair where she continuously gets jealous when she sees him interacting with other girls. Though he reaffirms that he has no interest in humans, including her for that matter. Though Nanami gets jealous especially when recollecting the fact that he had a hairpin she believes belongs to Yukiji. Though, during their ride on the Ferris Wheel, he clarifies that he actually bought it for Nanami.

Nanami is hurt when Tomoe carelessly states he and Mizuki 'don't need her' when they are fighting against some miasma that has spread throughout the shrine. Hurt, Nanami obscures herself and runs from the shrine as she considers moving out altogether. Tomoe goes into a panic searching for her, stricken by anxiety as he recalls his former 'master' leaving and never returning.

At the end of the season, Nanami wants Tomoe to compliment her in her yukata. He does so begrudgingly, then reseals the contract of the familiar with her.

Season Two[]

In episode one, Otohiko comes to the shrine and tells Nanami that she needs to attend the Divine Assembly in Izumo. However, Tomoe tells her that there is no need to go there nor find Mikage, who may be there. When one of Nanami's bullies slaps her on the back, Tomoe grabs his hand and tells him not to touch her so familiarly. He asks if she is alright with concern on his expression. Nanami worries over whether he is hiding his feelings about finding Mikage. Tomoe confronts her over this and tells her there is no need, trying to get the shikigami age from her. Nanami retorts that she can do what she wants.

Mizuki enters the room and mistakenly steps on the egg. While Nanami is freaking out, Tomoe is relieved and strokes Mizuki's while clearly pleased by the outcome. It hatches and a baby monkey comes out of it. Tomoe tells her that it won't be good enough and tells her to give up. Annoyed, Nanami holds it in front of his face, so it attacks him.

The next day, Nanami is rushing to school because she and Tomoe missed the bus. Tomoe is acting rather blase, whereas Nanami tells him to hurry up. He asks why she brought the monkey with her, doubting its use. He seems to be jealous of the monkey, claiming that he is the one that will be used to her. He is shocked by his own words after she rushes off. Nanami is very pleased and is later seen gushing over it while in the library.

Later, Tomoe senses she is in danger and goes to protect Nanami. His words once more ring true in her head, though she seems insecure because she believes it is just because he needs to protect her. The next day, Tomoe once more asks about her insistence on studying to which she responds she needs to build up her divine power. Nanami asks him to stop fussing over her and tells Tomoe to stop fussing over him. The two continue arguing on the bus.

When a miasma appears, Tomoe once more asks for her to rely on him, but she refuses. This puts her and her friend Ami in danger when her power does not work, forcing Tomoe to save her. Nanami later wakes up in the infirmary with her just remembering Tomoe's arms around her. Tomoe is nearly overtaken by the miasma later with Nanami and the hatched monkey, Mamoru, clearing it up. Cheerfully, Nanami ran up and hugged him as the miasma cleared brightening Tomoe's world. Nanami thanks him for saving her and say he is amazing. Tomoe pats her head and tells her that is his line.
