Toon Squad is the ship between Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Mickey Mouse, Felix the Cat, Bendy, Cuphead and Mugman from the Mickey Mouse and Friends, Felix the Cat, Bendy and Cuphead.
Canon[]
Felix the Cat, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse are all old cartoons, before they were even brought to color. Felix made his debut in 1919 by Pat Sullivan and Otto Messmer, Oswald debuted in 1927 created by Walt Disney, though losing the rights to the character to Universal under Charles Mintz caused Disney to create a successor named Mickey a year later.
All three had similar styles, generally completely black, save for a few white areas for the face (and in Mickey's case, also the gloves). All three of them had persisted well into modern times and had codified the "classic cartoon artstyle", however Mickey was easily the most successful. Felix is rarely seen, though he sporadically pops up. Oswald would've been forgotten by everyone save for animation enthusiasts, if it weren't for Warren Spector reviving interest in the character by urging Disney to reclaim the rights and revive the character's popularity by making him a main character in the Epic Mickey series. In said series, Oswald is depicted as jaded and bitter about being forgotten, but eventually learns to reconcile with his estranged half-brother Mickey and save the day by his side.
Bendy is a very obvious pastiche of Mickey, with some elements of Felix as well. He has the white gloves of Mickey and the general shape language of Felix.
Cuphead and Mugman are both clearly based on Mickey Mouse as well, though in an artstyle reminiscent of the Fleischer brothers. Mugman's blue pants in contrast to Cuphead's red is often taken as a reference to Oswald, who is commonly depicted with blue pants in official Disney productions. The blue pants serve to distinguish Disney's Oswald with his public domain counterpart, who wears grey/white pants instead.

Many fans of classic cartoons and works inspired by them had the idea of crossing them over somehow. Most of which tend to be rather light-hearted, much like the cartoons themselves. Some flat out have the reader be mailed a box filled with Toons (or a "Cartoon Box") and just watching them interact. More serious crossovers exist, but they are often confined to the webseries "Bendy & Boris: The Quest for the Ink Machine".
Due to the artstyles, many depict the Toons as roughly half the size of a regular person. There is some credence to this as in Bendy and the Ink Machine, Boris the Wolf (a character based on both Goofy and Pete) is the same height as protagonist Henry Stein, but is depicted as towering over Bendy in the actual cartoons.
Most fans of the crossover support the already popular ships of Osix and Bendystraw. Mickey and Mugman are rarely paired with anyone. Some do bring in the girls (most commonly: Kitty Cat, Ortensia, Minnie Mouse, Alice Angel and occasionally Ms. Chalice) to round up the cast. Some substitute Mugman with Boris or feature both of them so nobody feels left out.
Some additional members include Bingo the Dog, Betty Boop and Julius the Cat from the Alice Comedies (Oswald's own predecessor). Characters merely inspired by that style also somtimes include the Warner Siblings from Animaniacs, Peacock from Skullgirls and Spinel from Steven Universe.
