Trampieline is the het ship between Mr. E and Ellie from the Work It Out Wombats! fandom.

Canon[]

Mr. E, the iguana who owns the Everything Emporium, has a huge crush on Ellie, the moose EMT. He's usually a bit grumpy with everyone else (at least before his character development), but he's always sweet with Ellie, and always eager to help her and spend time with her. Ellie is unaware that Mr. E likes her and sees him as a good friend.

In "Measure for Measure," Mr. E is ecstatic when Ellie visits the Everything Emporium. He winks at her while saying that he can show her anything. Mr. E is very happy when Ellie says she wants to buy a hat. He tries to impress her by saying that the Everything Emporium has everything. He tries to find a hat for her, but none of them fit her. When Ellie says that she doesn't think he has a hat for her, Mr. E goes crazy and frantically tries to find one for her. When he realizes he really doesn't have a hat for her, he gets very depressed, to the point of firing himself from the Everything Emporium just because he couldn't find a hat for her. Later, Zadie enlists Mr. E's help in making a hat for Ellie. When he hears that the hat is specifically for Ellie, he happily rehires himself.

In "Gift for a Fish," Malik and Zadie roll into Mr. E and accidentally launch him into the air. Ellie catches him in her arms, bridal style. Mr. E awkwardly thanks her. Later, Mr. E accidentally falls into the Fishman family's tank. Ellie rescues him and dries him off. Ellie says that Mr. E has to be careful, and he says "Of course, Ellie~" while making big shiny eyes at her. Finally, Ellie asks Mr. E to dance with her. Mr. E is extremely happy, and shouts "THAT IS A THUMBS UP AFFIRMATIVE!!!" before nervously correcting himself with "Sure." It's clear that he doesn't want his feelings to show too much. Then, they dance together as the episode ends.

In "Cafe Chaos," Mr. E arrives at the Eat 'n' Greet cafe for his special luncheon, and waits for his mysterious special guest. He gets a text from this special guest asking him to order a salad. Mr. E looks lovingly at his phone and says that salad is his favorite thing too. Finally, Ellie arrives, revealing herself to be Mr. E's special guest. Mr. E is simultaneously excited and nervous at Ellie's arrival. Louisa notices that Mr. E is nervous, hinting that she knows that he has a crush on Ellie. Mr. E says that he just wanted things perfect for a "special friend" like Ellie. He looks at her lovingly. They eat salad, drink water, and eat moonberry pie together. Mr. E acts like a gentleman by paying for the bill. Ellie thanks Mr. E for inviting her, as she had a great time. Mr. E giggles and says "Of course! I had a great time too" and he leaves in pure bliss.

In "Sparklepants," Mr. E is throwing Ellie a welcome home party since she's flying back home from her vacation. He wants everything to be perfect. Mr. E gets a call from Ellie as she arrives home and is very excited. Mr. E worries that Ellie won't land safely if she's unable to see the landing pad lights. Through innovation, flashlights and the titular sparkle pants are used to creating landing pad lights, and Ellie lands safely. At the end of the episode, Ellie asks if she could have a pair of sparklepants. Mr. E lovingly says he would be happy to order a pair for her. This is notable because previously, he hated the sparklepants.

In "Racecar Wombats," everyone in the Treeborhood is participating in the Treeborhood Derby. Mr. E and Ellie are riding in a racecar together. Since the wombats are unable to get their racecar out of the house, Ellie offers the wombats to ride in her and Mr. E's car. Mr. E isn't happy about this, since he wants to be alone with Ellie. The wombats ultimately decide not to, and Mr. E is visibly relieved. When the wombats arrive at the race late, Mr. E says "It's about time" but Ellie shoots him an annoyed look, so he says something nicer to the wombats instead, purely because of the way Ellie reacted. Mr. E looks nervously at Ellie.

In "Talent Turmoil," Ellie says that Mr. E has a special talent. Later, Zadie asks Mr. E if he wants to participate in the Treeborhood talent show. Mr. E says no at first because he has work to do. Zadie says that Ellie said he had a great talent. Mr. E is very happy that Ellie said that, and reveals his talent at making pictures out of soup cans. Because of Ellie's comment, he decides to enter the talent show.

In "A Boxful of Snout," Mr. E injures himself by crashing into bagpipes, spraining his arm. Ellie is quick to help heal him and wrap a cloth on his arm. She pats his head.

At the end of "Postcard from Snout," Ellie suggests an outing for her and Mr. E. Mr. E looks very excited at going on an outing with Ellie, until she reveals that it's skydiving. Then, he gets nervous. "Kayatastic Split" shows what happened when they went skydiving; Mr. E was screaming the whole time and he was strapped to Ellie's chest.

In "Moo Moo Choo Choo," Ellie is showing Mr. E how to jump rope. Mr. E isn't too good at it, and he falls into the mud, but Ellie pulls him out. At the end of the episode, they sit next to each other on the Moo Moo Choo Choo train.

In "JunJun's Wake Up Call," Mr. E is having a hard time deciding on which flavor of ice cream to eat. Ellie is annoyed at this, but relieved when Mr. E finally decides to pick all of them.

In "Zadie to the Rescue," Mr. E gets stuck in his Ooey Gooey Goo, and alerts Ellie to come help him. Ellie successfully gets him out of the goo (and his foot out of a vase). Mr. E swoons at her and calls her amazing.

In "Backwards Day," Mr. E initially doesn't want to participate in Backwards Day, thinking it's ridiculous. However, when Ellie goes along with the idea by jumping rope backwards, Mr. E suddenly decides he wants to join in, and runs backwards after her, only to fall.

In "The Great Splendito," Mr. E performs stage tricks under the name Mr. Splendito, and has Ellie as his assistant, wearing a giant glove costume. "Glove" is just one letter off from "love."

In "Ellie's Island," Ellie is going on a trip to Jamaica to visit her family, and Mr. E helps her gather all the presents she's going to bring. He's exhausted, but he does it for her. Then, Ellie carries a tired Mr. E on her back to the kitchen, where they bake a cake. After Ellie feeds Mr. E some juice, he is re-energized and ready to bake the cake. However, Mr. E is overly energetic while cooking, and makes a mess. Ellie decides to have him read the recipe instead. He's happy to do so, and smiles awkwardly at her. Later, Ellie talks to her nani on the phone, and then Mr. E interjects into the conversation by saying he read Ellie the cak recipe, almost as if he wanted to impress Ellie's nani. Then, Mr. E kindly gives Ellie privacy to talk with her nani. However, he overhears the conversation and takes it to mean that Ellie is staying in Jamaica forever. Mr. E is extremely upset over this, and starts crying. Mr. E and the wombats decide to put stuff into a barrel that will make Ellie want to stay in the treeborhood. Mr. E gifted her photographs of himself. Once the confusion about Ellie supposedly staying in Jamaica is cleared up, Mr. E is relieved. However, he still holds onto the rope of Ellie's hot air balloon, because he doesn't want her to go.

In "The Fishman's Big Date," Ellie mentions going to watch a meteor shower with Mr. E; he is otherwise not seen in the episode, and only mentioned.

Quotes[]

“No! Surely she would tell her best friend, me, if she wasn't coming home. Surely. Unless she didn't want to upset me. (sniffling) I don't know why she thinks I'd be upset. (sobbing) I won't have it, I tell you! I will make a Treeborhood rule that Ellie must come back.”
— Mr. E in "Ellie's Island"

Fanon[]

Trampieline is a very popular ship in the fandom, rivaling Leiffy. At first, people cast doubt on whether Mr. E actually liked Ellie or not, since the style guide that was leaked said he had a "friendship crush" on her, but then when the episodes aired, it was proven that Mr. E did actually have a crush on her. Fans hope they get more moments soon, and that Ellie will return his feelings. It's not only been noticed by fans, but by parents of children who watch the show as well.
